What if EVERYTHING you did in life was always a success?

Psalms 1:1-3
“Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.”

What is your focus on when it comes to your business, or to your success? It seems it's not enough to just have ethical business practices - and while that may be easy and/or obvious to some... to others it still is a challenge. But even if you're running a good Christian business or you have pure and honest intentions, you still could be missing the mark. If your focus is on making money, getting leads, landing clients, marketing, networking or closing the deal, you're focusing on the wrong things. If you're focusing on success, wealth and prosperity you are focusing on the wrong things. But if you want prosperity your focus, and your joy and your delight must be in the Lord and in following his statutes and commandments. Not only following them but meditating on them day and night...

Joshua 1:8 says "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." In other words, don't just talk about the Word of God and what it says you should do, but do it. Meditate on it and visualize yourself doing (observe to do) all that is written. So if success, wealth and prosperity are promised to us in God's word - find those scriptures and prayerfully meditate on them day and night: visualize yourself with the magic touch and watch - in due season... whatsoever a man thinks, so shall he be.

Oh - success indeed! First your comment made me think of success in regards to who your "boss" actually is - if you boss is "the company" then success means you keep clients to make the company more successful. But when your "boss" is the Lord our God, sometimes you have to lose clients so that their lives are more successful, your life is more successful and the company ends up being more successful as well! That's God's true definition of success at work. Secondly, that brings us right back to Psalms 112. The main crux of that little chapter is giving - when we give, when we lend, when we are compassionate and handle our affairs righteously and with honor, we are blessed with success in all many of our lives and for all our generations! Amen, halleluiah! Yes indeed, God is soooo good!

A successful day today...I was able to transfer 6 of my clients of 4+ years to another insurance company that offered better coverage at a better price. Did I lose anything by giving my business away in a time when society is in panic? No mame, because every last one of them considered it a blessing and thanked God. That was such a wonderful feeling for me. And I don't worry about it because I know God will give me whatever I need to contine to be successful. And the funny thing is, my office has written the most business for the last 2 months in my district. And I am giving business away!!!!

God is good. God is soooo good.

p.s. For lunch I had a humongous salad - filled with all manner of ruffage and stuff to cleanse, detox and give you energy. Delicious - but the first time I had it I made the mistake of eating it at 9:30 at night!

Beloveds - Thank you for your comments!
It is true that Johsua 1:8 makes no definition of "good success". We can be sure that God does not look at one area of our lives as being more of a candidate for success than any other. For example, God's definition of successful is not reserved for finances, or career, education or any other thing that our "worldly" definitions may ascribe to. Instead, God sees us in His own image - He is a triunal being (Father, Son & Holy Ghost) and we too are triunal beings after His likeness (Spirit, Body & Soul) - Deut:6:5 translates these as heart, soul & might. God looks upon us as the whole man and His promises are for the whole man as well - including His promise of good success in Joshua 1:8. And so, we can also be sure that a promise of good success is a promise to be applied in every aspect of our lives. Hence my question "what if everything you did in life was always a success?" That was the initiating question, but my message focused on primarily career & business - because I wrote it for a Christians in Business web site! :D

When I think of God's promises of whole success I think - not of contentment as you all have described - but instead of the promises and life description in all of Proverbs 112. Now that is a successful life!

After reading the blog, i went back to the original question...What if EVERYTHING you did in life was always a success?
This has soooo many different topics that could be touched on. But let me stick to a few : )

First, it depends on how you view success. would the success be measured by "man" or success in the eye of God. Because Spiritual success looks sooo different, every time. For an example, i could have a million dollars in the bank, society would view me as successful, but i could be so depressed, lonely and so on. Is that really success? BUT...let's say i have $.67 cents in the bank (not overdrawn thank God!!!), my car is almost on empty, and i only have crackers to eat for lunch today...BUT...I am happy, i feel good, i can smile, laugh, take a nice walk at lunch, and KNOW that what ever I need, i will have. Now THIS is success to me : )
