The Salvation of Israel

by Bayo Omoyiola, Jr

And.. Israel shall be saved … Romans 11:26

(Scriptural references: Daniel 12, Roman 10&11, Matt 23:37-39, Matt 24, Rev 1:7, Rev 7, Rev 11,12& 13, Rev 15 & 16, Rev 19:11-21)

Beloved, the Israeli nation has a place in God’s plan. It may appear that God has forgotten them but he has not. In fact, he is mindful of them. They occupy a special place in God’s heart and he will surely come to their rescue. Israel has always played a major part in God’s plan. We must not forget that our Lord Jesus (Yeshua), through whom salvation came to all nations, is the seed of Abraham according to genealogy.
We are now in the end-time that our Lord himself prophesied about - Matt 24. The events he prophesied about are happening. Many of the prophecies have been fulfilled but some are yet to be fulfilled. The mystery of God’s end-time plan is yet unfolding. Nations are ganging up against Israel. Satan wants to wipe out Israel from the world map but he won’t succeed. He knows his end is near and that he has only a little time left. God will save Israel. Yea, he will save his people

Right now, there are plans to build a new temple in Jerusalem, Israel. The one built by Solomon was destroyed. The second that was built was also destroyed. The Romans destroyed the second temple in AD 70. The second destruction fulfilled the prophecy of our Lord Jesus Christ in Luke 19:44. Now, the Jews desire a new temple. I believe it would be built. Against all odds it would be built. An Islamic dome called ‘the dome of the rock’ has been occupying the exact spot a prophet said the new temple should be built on. I believe whether the temple is destroyed or not. The new temple must be built. After it is built, the outer court will be given to the gentiles and they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty - two months - Rev 11:2. As for now, even if the gentiles in the land oppose the re-building the temple (on the exact same spot it should occupy), I believe it would be built. The re-building of the temple is something that must take place. It is part of God’s plan for the end-time. When the temple is re-built daily sacrifices would resume. Since 1948 when the Jews were supernaturally gathered together to form the new Israel, they have always desired a new temple. They desire to have a temple in which they could offer sacrifices daily. Right now, efforts are been made to have a new temple in Jerusalem. The building of the temple is much connected to the fulfillment of the prophecy concerning the coming of Christ and the seven year reign of the anti-Christ and it would be built.

In those days, two witnesses would stand up for Israel (from amongst the Jews) and prophesy – Rev 11. They will prophesy for three and half years. They would come in the power and spirit of Elijah and Moses. Fire would come out of their mouth and devour their enemies. They would have the power to shut heaven, so that there would be no rain in the days of their prophecy and they would have the power to turn water into blood and to strike the earth with plagues. After finishing their assignment, the devil would make war against them and kill them but God would bring them back to life after three and half days and they would ascend into heaven. Immediately after this happens, there would be a great earth-quake. A tenth of the city would fall and 7,000 people would be killed by the incidence.

Arch-angel Michael would also stand up for Israel in those days. Michael and his angels would fight against the devil and cast him out of heaven. The devil would attempt to destroy Israel but God would help her and she would be taken to a safe place and would be specially nourished by God for three and half years - Rev 12

There are three views about the rapture and coming of Christ. Some people believe our Lord Jesus Christ will come after the seven year tribulation. Some believe he will come in the middle of the tribulation while others believe he will come before the seven year tribulation. You may want to ask – will he come three times within seven years and still come back to battle the beast? Really, I don`t think so. I must admit no one knows exactly when our Lord will return. Not even the holy angels. The truth I know is that the rapture is quite different from the second coming and the plan of God for the global body of Christ is quite different from his plan for the Jews. The saints that are non-Jews will also be saved. The seven year reign of the anti-Christ concerns the Jews to a great extent. The main period will be the second half of the seven year period. The three and half year period is often called the time of Jacob’s trouble. Daniel 12:1, 6-7

The anti-Christ would make a treaty or a peace agreement with Israel. For the first three and half years he would be peaceful. But soon after wards, he will cause the daily sacrifices to be stopped and commit the abomination of desolation - Daniel 9:27. Then, he will begin his real assignment which will last for three and half years - Rev 13:5, Daniel 7:25b. He will enter into the temple and declare himself ‘god’. He will set up an image and give life to it and cause people to worship it. He will also cause people to receive his mark – 666 on their head or right hand (Rev 13). If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the fore-head or on his hand, he himself shall drink of the wrath of God - Rev 12: 9, 10. The tribulation will be a great one. Such as has not been since the beginning of the world. The anti-Christ will war against the Jews and seek to destroy Israel and wipe them out of the face of the earth but 144,000 Jews would be anointed and saved. They will come out of the tribulation with great joy - Rev 7. Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun would be darkened and the moon will not give its light. Stars will fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. The sign of our Lord will appear in the sky. King Jesus would come with clouds and appear in the sky and every eye would see him. The tribes of the earth will mourn when they see him. He will send his angels with a great sound of trumpet. Four angels would stand at the four corners of the earth and hold the four winds of the earth and gather the elect - Matt 24, Rev 1:7, 7:1.

In the book of Revelation, we could see what will happen on the earth as our Lord opens the seven seals of the scroll. The seven seals would be opened and then seven angels would sound the seven trumpets and then seven angels would pour out seven bowls of the wrath of God. In the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be finished as he declared to his servants, the prophets. The kingdom of this world would become the kingdoms of our LORD and his Christ and he shall reign for ever and ever. Rev 10:7

Immediately after the sixth bowl of wrath is poured on the great river Euphrates, the water would be dried up and the way of the kings of the east would be prepared. Three unclean demonic spirits like frogs would come out of the evil trio – the devil, the anti-Christ and the false prophet and they would go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world to gather them to the battle of the great day of God Almighty. The battle is also called ‘the battle of Armageddon’ because it would be fought in a place called Armageddon in the Hebrew tongue. It is known as the mount of Megiddo – Rev 16: 12-16. Then the seventh bowl of wrath will be poured.

After the seventh bowl of wrath is poured, a loud voice from heaven will be heard saying – It is done. This would be followed by noises, thundering and lightning and there would be a great earthquake. Babylon would be judged. Every Island will flee and the mountains will not be found. Great hailstones will fall from heaven and plague men. Rev 16:17-21 and afterward, the battle of Armageddon will take place. Rev 19:11-21. The anti-Christ and the false prophet would be cast into the lake of fire while the devil will be bound and cast into the bottomless pit. Then the first resurrection will take place. Dead saints will come back to life. Then Christ and his saints will reign with him on earth for a thousand years. After which the devil will be released for a while. During this period, he will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog and gather them to battle attempting to fight God’s people. Fire would then come from heaven and devour them. The devil will then be cast into the lake of fire to be tormented forever. Then the second death will take place. It is a time for the resurrection and judgment of sinners. All the people that were dead up-till that time, sinners – small and great will come back to life to receive judgment from King Jesus. The second death does not have power over those that came back to life in the first resurrection - Rev 20:6. The judgment that will take place after the second death is called the Great White Throne Judgment. Those whose names were not found in the Book of life were cast into the lake of fire - Rev 20. Then there will be a new heaven and a new earth. New Jerusalem would come to the earth from heaven and the tabernacle of God will be with men forever. He will be their God and they would be his people – Rev 21. Amazingly, Israel would play a vital role during the millennial reign and during the new earth. Jerusalem would be a primary place of worship in those days

For a long, the Jews waited for the consolation and restoration of Israel. On the day our Lord Jesus ascended into heaven from mount olive, some Jews asked him – Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel? Our Lord replied saying – It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in his own authority. In 1948, they were miraculously brought together as a nation again. Once again, they became a free nation. No more controlled by the Romans or any world power. But there is still remains a rest for the people of God. Israel has not known perfect peace. They are still been attacked by other nations but they would be saved. Surely there is a time for their salvation and that time is soon. On that fateful day Jesus ascended as they were gazing at him as he was taken up into heaven, the two angels present said unto them - … This same Jesus who was taken … into heaven will so come in like manner as you saw him go into heaven. Acts 1: 6-11. Beloved, God has always had the Jews in mind and he will surely come back to save them. He that will come will come and not tarry. Beloved, Israel shall be saved. Though it tarries, it will surely come to pass. The Jews would once again say – Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord and God would come and save them. He would come and he will honor the saints that overcome with rewards. He that overcomes will inherit all things. Let him that is righteous remain righteous. He, who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Selah
