What God's Word has to say about Genetically Modified Organisms (food)!

In the first chapter of Genesis we see God uses the phrase "after it's kind" over and over again.  Why, because He is establishing a law between species,  The word kind (in these verses) is a genetic term meaning species, DNA or genetic nature.  Therefore God is commanding every species to reproduce after it's own genetic nature or DNA!  

Leviticus 19:19 >>

These verses cover all Genetically Modified Organisms whether they are seeds or animals.  We all know that God does not directly address every issue in the Bible, this is not one of those issues.  He clearly states that we are not to crossbreed seed or animal.  Why? Because all flesh has it's own distinct genetic code or DNA; this is why you must take powerful drugs to suppress the immune system after organ implantation, because the new organ does not contain the DNA of your flesh.  It is the immune systems responsibility to seek out and destroy anything that does not have your DNA.  When such an entity is discovered you experience an immune response, it is called an allergic reaction which, when left unchecked can lead to an auto immune disease such as asthma, arthritis, lupas and much more. 

Genetic recombination is a process by which a molecule of nucleic acid (usually DNA) is broken and then joined to a different one, or more simply put it is the exchange of genetic information. Recombination can occur between similar molecules of DNA, as in homologous recombination (a common method of DNA repair), or dissimilar molecules, as in non-homologous end joining.  God said we are not to break genes which contain DNA and recombine them with genes of another species.

For example: 

The first and only documented human outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza A (H5N1) virus infections resulted in 18 hospitalizations and six deaths among Hong Kong residents during 1997.  A case-control study identified recent exposure to live poultry as an important risk factor for H5N1 infection, and cohort studies suggested that human-to-human transmission of H5N1 virus was limited. The poor transmissibility of these H5N1 viruses among humans and the elimination of approximately 1.5 million chickens appear to have been key factors that stopped this outbreak(From Emerging  infectious diseases, Lack of Evidence for Human-to-Human Transmission of Avian Influenza A (H9N2) Viruses in Hong Kong, China 1999).

Between 1999 and 2003 there were 100 confirmed cases according to the CDC. By 2008 there were 385 cases reported world wide, and now we are reportedly at pandemic status.  How did we make such a swift transition from almost no human to human transmission in the 70's to rare in the 90's to pademic numbers today?  Could it be because we have been injected with a new strain of deactivated virus's annually?  Or could it be that the animals we eat are what other animals are feed? 

These are examples of genetic recombination that we have come to except as normal. 

In Genesis 1:29 God said:

A  seed is the propagative part of a plant, or the part that causes reproduction of multiplication.  Reproduction is two fold, the cells of the body reproduce themselves, repair and replace themselves.  The species is reproduced by creating life.  God said it is the seed bearing plant that gives your body the ability to reproduce or multiply.  When you modify the seed, you modify the body's ability to reproduce, multiply, repair and rebuild itself.

 

God designed man's body with his own hands.  He placed in the body the ability to regenerate itself, repair itself and defend itself from all invaders.  The more we crossbreed or recombine our genes with that which is not self the more we decrease our ability to reproduce life.  Maybe that is why the first weapon of mass destruction was a seed bearing plant that was only good to look at but, was not fit for human consumption.  God said in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die, why because it contained a seed that could only reproduce death.  It is for this same reason that we must look at what we eat in the light of God's Word.  A curse does not come without a cause, whatsoever a man sows that and only that can he reap.  Genetically Modified Organisms are forbidden because they change your genetic foundation; that which gives you the ability to reproduce the God-man species.  No one can produce a God-man but God.
