What is so important about the cross & Christ Jesus being crucified ?

1Corinthians 1:17 states "For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of none effect>.(vs18) For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (vs19) For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. (vs 21b) "It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe" (Cleave, rely and trust in Him). (vs 26) For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty: (vs 29) That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom. and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

If it had not been for He that knew no sin, being made sin for us, we'd still be dying in our sins. Isaiah 53:10 says, " Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him (Jesus); he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin".
During this time of the year lets remember all the blessings that God has provided, even when it seems as if life is bruising you, it pleases God, not because He is sadistic or likes to see us suffer, but, because of the growth, wisdom & salvation that springs forth from the rain.
Enjoy your Resurrection Sunday. Pastor Eric
