WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH BEING A CHRISTIAN ?
"What's "love" got to do with being a christian ?" St.John 13:34-35, A new commandment I give unto you, that ye "love" one another, as I have loved you, that ye also "love" one another. By this shall men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have "love" one to another. 1 John3:10 to 18, In this the children of God are manifest, and the child of the devil , Who so ever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. for this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should "love" one another. Not as cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. and wherefore slew he him?Because his own works were evil, And his brother righeteous. marvel not,my brother, if the world hate you. we know that we have passed from death unto life, because we "love" the brotheren, He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the "love" of God. because he laid down his life for us, we ought to lay down our lives for the brotheren. But whosoever hath this worlds good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the "love" of God in him? my little children, let us not "love" in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 1 Cor.13 :1to5 Amp. If I[can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not "love" (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by Gods "love" for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose),and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have[sufficient]faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not "love"(Gods "love" in me)I am nothing(a useless nobody).Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing]food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or in order that I may Glory, but have not "love" (Gods "love" in me),I gain nothing. "Love" endures long and is patient and kind, "love" never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious,, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride),it is not rude(unmannerly)and does not act unbecomingly. Love(Gods "love" in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self seeking , it is not touchy or fretful or resentful, it takes no account of the evil done to it[it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. 1John 4:6 to 12, We are of God, he that knoweth God hearth us, he that is not of God hearth not us.Hereby know we the spirit of truth , and spirit of error. Beloved, let us "love" one another, for "love" is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is "love". In this was manifested the "love" of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is "love", not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved if God so loved us, we ought also to "love" one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we "love" one another God dwelleth in us, and his "love" is perfected in us. 1John4:18 to 21, There is no fear in "love", but perfect "love" casteth out fear, because fear hath torment. he that feareth is not made perfect in "love". We "love" him because he firist loved us. If a man say I "love" God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar, for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen how can he "love" God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God "love" his brother also. St. Luke 10:25 to 28, And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up , and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt "love" the Lord thy God with all thy heart,And with all thy soul, And with all thy strength, and with all thy mind, and thy neighbour as thy self. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right, this do, and thou shalt live
