"Lean not unto your own understanding, but in all things acknowledge God" Each day we get up God the Father expects us to meditate and focus on his words. God asks us to look inside of ourselves and make sure our minds are on the right focal points. So we read and study his words, but, are you "renewing your mind"?

To renew your mind is to look inside of yourself and ask yourself where are my thoughts? Where are my thoughts really leading me? Have I forgiven that person I had malice against? Am I jealous of my neighbor because it seems as if she has everything handed to them? Did I take the time to pray for others? I mean really pray for them. Did I ask God to bless them, to help me to love them more, to guide my tongue when I speak to them? Truly God did I use my time of meditation to follow your instructions and get closer to you?

To answer these questions trutfully is to find your focal point in Christ. When you can truly answer with a positive answer then you are really focusing in on the teaching of Christ.

It is not enough to pray for your family, friends, and yourself. In this world so full of strife we did to pray for our enemy! "Do Good Unto those who Despitfully Use You" Yes, forgive them, love them, and do good unto them. Take your mind off of your hurts and pains and focus on the needs of those who you feel are hurtful, mean, and unloving. Shine your light and offer love, they may just come back to you a new person and thank you.

Don't just praise God when things are going good for you. God is just and Holy even when you feel he has forsaken you. "I'll never leave you or forsake you" These are the words of the Holy One. He is with you always until the end of time even when you are down. It is he who is giving you breath each day and clothing and feeding you. So why not praise him and give him thanks.

Do you judge others? When you see that young lady carring her baby or that young man with his pants sagging and his hair unkept do you look at them with a look of disguse? Do you say to yourself "that's just awful, they should know better. They're just some gang banging street kids." If you do then you are not focusing in Christ.
Your focal point is distorted and you need to examine yourself. What do you really know about that young lady or that young man? Do you know what kind of life they have had to live? Do you know if they have a real home to go to, or if they are ill, or abused? Did you pray in the Spirit for them?

"Let your light so shine that others may see your good works" Your light is not going to shine if your focal point is not right. If you are looking at the world through the world. "You are in this world, but not of this world" So if you are not of this world and you are "filled with the Spirit" why are you looking though rose colored glasses.

Did you humble yourself today. Or are you still walking around looking down at everyone you feel is not as high in the knowledge of God as you are? Though we are bold and strong in God we are not above others. God shines is light on the just and the unjust, He has no respect of person. God loves his sinners just as much as he loves you (maybe even more, because you know his word and they don't ). We as God's people are to love the sinner and hate the sin. Are you focused enough to do that?

We are truly in the last days. It is hard to make it from day to day for many of us. We should not make it harder by focusing in on the wrong things. Life can be so much easier if we decide to be obedient to God's word.

Meditate on his word night and day and as you do make sure you are renewing your mind so that you will know what your true focal point is.
