2 Corinthians 2:15

15. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing

We are called to represent Christ in the culture. The scripture above talks about us being an aroma of Christ, as we know an aroma can work two ways good or bad.

Last week while getting on the train there was a homeless man sleeping in the particular cart I was entering. No one knew how long he’d been there but the whole cart had this terrible odor. It was so bad that as quickly as people entered to sit down, they used that same speed and more to leave. With this in mind ,while watching television the other day, I saw a commercial advertising Body Wash, the guy got out of the shower after using some of the body wash and the smell of it was so enticing, so intriguing, that the young lady couldn’t resist jumping on him, It just smelled that good! (Crazy right).

Here we see two very different responses to smell.

As Christians we should want to be like the young man with the shower gel, we should want to live our lives & present the gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that causes men and women to be drawn to God. I pray that my life produces such an aroma that people will jump at the chance to serve God.

As a responsible Christian it is important to realize that you are a leader. You are the living, breathing representation of the one and true God. You may not carry the physical aroma but you do have the ability to draw souls near or push souls away. A lot of times we forget or neglect that winning souls, drawing people to Christ is a part of our responsibility. Instead of showing Godly love when it is needed, we show our own type of love. Jesus loves us unconditionally so much so that he was beaten and bruised to free us from the sins of this world. He carried the cross as a representation of the loads of stuff we would no longer have to hold on to. Yet we still want the right to be mad, or the right to have grudges, the right to complain, the right to gossip etc…. These things produce a bad smell.

Remember that love covers a multitude of sin, yours, mine and everyone else’s. Live life and love with the love of Jesus, because it never fails. People will always be drawn to sincere love, it produces such a wonderful aroma. You can always smell when love is in the air you know. (Lol)

So I ask you fellow believer of the most high God. What aroma are you giving off as you live your life? Does it draw people closer to the lord or push them further away?

Have a Blessed day.

Praises to God for your blog. This is what I have been talking, bloging, and thinking about for such a long time. As Christians we don't understand the power of Love.

You made a statement , quote "As a responsible Christian ". We have to be responsible for our actions, our thoughts, our behavior, because our actions tell the truth!

Thank you for the blog. keep loving. Glad to see you get it : )
