Subject: A Need For Men and Women of God in Politics!

Dear Preachers and Those in Ministry:

I need some bold preachers to go with me into the lion’s den!

I am a veteran African American Republican who in 1979, God sent into the Republican Party to bring about change and to bring down the walls of prejudice and call the party back to the place of its original birth as the Party of Lincoln.

This has not been an easy battle. I have shared those experiences in the book I wrote, Black Eyes Shut – White Lips Sealed (victorysongcollectionspublications.com). Yet I have stood against all odds, and now it is time to take it to the next level.

What I have seen is that the racism, mean spiritedness and the foolishness that is within the Republican Party is mostly at the top. Those who rise to the top, in most cases are the perpetrators. But when you go to the grass roots level, this almost is not there or it is in lesser degrees. Many at the grass roots level are those who believe what we believe, work with us and even share sweet fellowship. However, when you begin to get involved at the party level, this is where the demons of racism rear their heads and stand as gatekeepers.

Having taught American Government, State and Local Government and International Politics and Culture of Non-Western Countries as a political science professor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, I understand government at all levels – even globally. I know what it will take to break the hold and to get pass the political gatekeepers. Sit-in and protests will do absolutely nothing! Even prayer alone will not suffice. But with the power of prayer, as well as the wisdom of God, we have to move into both parties and carve out a place for ourselves as Americans, if we want to share in America’s political power base. Yes, this means moving even into the Republican Party.

As the national chair for the Black Republican Women Organization, I began back in 1987 recruiting African American women into the GOP, who were not willing to be tokens, but who could retain their blackness.

Presently, I head the National Republican African American Caucus. It is a unique republican organization because it allows African Americans to be a part of a collective body that can and will bring about change. Our goal is 1.5 million by 2012, and 500,000 in 2010. You may ask why so many? It is because political strength is in numbers! In politics, believe it or not, it has very little to do with color. It has to do with numbers and the ability to write the check. If you can show you have a substantial number of people who can stand as a voting block, and have the ability to finance your own cause, then you become a significant player within the political landscape. This is the ONLY way that we gain and retain political power. This is how we as African Americans get to the table, have a voice and place ourselves in appointed and elected positions. This is how we stop some of the foolishness that is going on in politics.

As an African American Republican, I proudly voted for President Obama in the general election. But his ability to win was because he was able to get beyond the gatekeepers and become a political player within the Democratic Party. Now we have to do the same thing within the Republican Party!

Having said all of this, I need men and women of God who will join with me to fulfill this mandate, and will join the NRAAC and even begin local caucuses. I don’t want everyone! Because it is important to remain political players in both parties. We need to be in the Democratic and Republican parties. I just need a significant number of praying people, and those who are strong and can take a stand for what is right to come into the Republican fold, so that our voices are heard.

I ask you to go to the NRAAC website at www.nraacaucus.org and see what we are all about. Then pray about this and see if you are one of the ones who God is saying, “I call you to take a stand on the other side (the Republican Party), so that you can make a difference.”

Also see if perhaps God is calling you to serve in a leadership capacity. In November, we will be making new appointments of regional and state chairs, and advisory board and national board members. If you are interested, and decide to become a member, you may submit your name, bio/resume for consideration.

I look forward to those of you who are godly and truly believe in justice and compassionate, yet self-responsibility and responsible government, joining our ranks!

…And for those of you who already are Republicans, we welcome you to the family of African American Republicans.

I believe by faith that you too are hearing the clarion call of the Spirit to cover ourselves in prayer as we go forth.

I want so much to come to you and become a yoke-fellow with you. Alas, that is not yet possible. The Spirit Speaks to the urgency of the hour and yet now I stand before the field which is white to harvest. He has not provided me with the tools or resources by which to go forth into His Harvest. I am appointed, equipped, and ready to go forth. I have yet to be established. Pray Him that he release resources for the work ahead. Pray Him for my circumstance that I might hear Him with clarity!

Yes! It’s time to heal Africa. A strong wind of healing is about to hit Africa. Our political systems are going to be hit by this strong wind of healing. Our Educational systems need it more. Our Economic sectors are not going to be left out. Our social systems have been waiting for this wind of healing. What about our Religious systems?
Yes! A strong wind of healing is about to hit Africa.
But why this wind of healing?
The healthy has no need of a physician but those who are sick. (Matthew 9:12)
The fact is that our Africa is sick.
Our Economic system is diagnosed with High Blood Pressure which has graduated to Ischemic stroke – we need a physician.
We need a physician in our diabetic Educational systems.
Oh! How we crave for a mental revolution. Yes! The mind of mama Africa is longing for a recreation.
Mama Africa is sick – she needs this healing.

Symptoms of mama Africa’s sickness:
• A collapsing political system
• An ever dilapidating and depressed socio-economic system
• An uncontrollable moral decadence in the name of civilization
• A weeping, cult-ridden educational system
• An unfaithful, prayer less spiritual life among the believers
• A daily increase in the number of harlots, armed robbers, fraudsters, child traffickers, drug addicts and dealers, militants, kidnappers, necromancers, hired assassins and many other acts of wickedness in the society.
• The sad statistics of African HIV patients, homeless orphans, hungry families, displaced refugees and jobless youngsters.

These and many other symptoms have posed threats to the peace and life of mama Africa.
Shall we fold our hands and see mama Africa go six feet below the ground?
Is there no need for healing?
Are there no fire-brand, Holy Ghost filled Africans capable of effecting mama Africa’s healing?
Are we not yet bored and tired of mama Africa’s saga?
It’s high time mama Africa is healed of all these diseases.

There is a TEAR IN AFRICA…
• The barren woman is crying for the fruit of the womb.
• The poor man believes God for just a meal in a day.
• The young guy in the University is asking: “Where do I go from here?”
• The pastor in my village church is tired of the tradition and fetish belief of my people.
• The bankers in my street are afraid of been kidnapped.
• The lame, blind, deaf and dump are still waiting for their miracle.
Is there no cause for revival?
Is there no need for revolution?
Is there no reason for healing?

Oh! Where are the Mosses of our time? – Let them come, let’s rescue mama Africa from an impeding devastation.
Oh! Where are the Elijahs of our time? – let them come, let’s prophecy unto mama Africa.
Oh! Where are the messiahs of our time? – let them come, let’s save mama Africa from a fast approaching socio-economic, political, educational and spiritual depression.
IT’S TIME TO HEAL MAMA AFRICA!
Yes! A strong and mighty wind of healing, revival and revolution is about to hit Africa.
Queue into this 21st century breeds of land rescuers, revivalists and revolutionalists.
Introducing It’s time to heal Africa Conference 2009…
It is a seven day land healing summit organized to halt the breakdown syndrome in the land of Africa.
It is featuring anointed men of God throughout Africa.
There shall be morning and evening sessions while the following sessions shall be allotted special time.
International music festival – All the countries represented shall display their national musical heritage.

MADE TO STAND
On August 18, 2009 my son, Lewis Eldridge Jr., (Two Ton) age 32 was shot down by what is known in this world as a drive by shooting. Needless to say that what the enemy meant for evil through this tragedy has led me and my family to “STAND” and believe even the more so, in the ever loving, tender mercies and faithfulness of God, for it is in our weakness that He is made strong.

MADE TO SHOUT
This is my walk through the “Valley of Baca”, and God has prepared a “SHOUT” in my spirit man, that I may “raise my voice like a trumpet, cry loud and spare not”, a voice that will "break in like a fire and like a hammer" (Jer. 23:29) After watching my son "die to soon" my call has now been upgraded to go the “extra mile” beyond the pew view, “after a "generation and not a congregation", the “SHOUT” will not fall on deaf ears, as it has been prepared by God, to stir people not just only "give" but to “live” in such a way that God gets the glory for every story, for only what we do for Christ will last.

MADE TO PREACH
I was told earlier by a friend that I was to preach my son's eulogy, but because of what I saw happen the thought was that I might not be able to relay God’s "Kingdom Message" which must be articulated at all times, because of my inner pain. I was later told by someone attending my son’s services that I had indeed preached his funeral (“for we are living epistels read of men“), when I closed the top of the casket lid, tucked him in and told him to get his rest, for all our changes would come some day, and it is a "change that I believe in". How beautiful are the feet of them that “PREACH” the Gospel and bring glad tidings of things to come!

MADE TO TEACH
There is a time and season for everything under the sun, and only God knows the real plans that He has for us, for we are the sheep of His pastures, so, “TEACH” us to number our days so we will apply our hearts unto wisdom. I am committed to go with His flow for I am His "Servant Glo" and His “GLOW” is intended to light up the hearts of men so our Father who is in heaven may be glorified.

MADE TO REACH
As I closed the lid of the casket, our Father will open up the eyelids, unstop deaf ears, make the dumb to talk, and the lame to leap for joy in their hearts and not in a hearse. He has opened up the flood gates of heaven and His message for me is Loud and it is Clear, STAND, SHOUT, PREACH, TEACH, AND REACH, for “I came that you might have life, and life more abundant“.
