We cannot afford to be apathetic about the truth God has put in our trust. It is our duty to guard, proclaim, and pass that truth on to the next generation (1 Timothy 6:20:21). We who love Christ and believe the truth embodied in His teaching must awaken to the reality of the battle that is raging all around us. We are under a sacred obligation to join the battle and contend for the faith.

The Bible makes it very clear that you and I are in a battle. As we read these verses of Scripture, we find ourselves in the atmosphere of war. There is a gunfire on every hand. Bombs are falling. There is lightning in the air. The Bible makes it very clear that all believers are in a war!

First Timothy 1:18 KJV says, "War a good warfare." First Timothy 6:12 says, "Fight the good fight of faith." Second Timothy 2:3, "Thou therefore endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."

Live Unto The Lord
And that he died for all, that they which live should not
henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for
them, and rose again (2 Corinthians 5:15).

From the moment you’re born again, you cease to
live for yourself. You start living for the Lord who
bought you with a price. If you truly believe that Jesus died
to save you, then you must continually live for His glory by
leading others to salvation. You can’t be a Christian just so
you can get God’s blessings and have all your prayers
answered. You’ve got to stand up and stick out your neck
for the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Paul faced greater persecution for the Gospel than
any other apostle in his day, and he challenged some of
them who were afraid to stick out their necks for the Gospel.
It’s the same today with some Christians; they’re afraid to
stand up and speak up for what they believe. In a workplace,
for example, there may be Christians who preach the
Gospel boldly, and are reviled and disdained for it. In the
same office, there may be other believers the non-Christians
are comfortable with, just because they don’t bother them
with “all that talk about Jesus.” That’s a terrible way to live!
It’s true that there are peculiar times, occasions, and
places where we might need to be tactful in our preaching
of the Gospel. But no matter how diplomatic we have to
be in such circumstances, we should never lose our
confidence in Christ or the boldness to publicly proclaim
His Lordship.
