A Lifestyle of fasting
Many Christians are struggling in their spiritual lives because they have never taken fasting seriously. Iheard someone say recently that they had been in church for about three years and had never heard fasting mentioned from the leadership. What a tragedy.
After the first 30 years of Jesus' life He began His three and a half year ministry.The very first thing that He did before ministering to anybody,immediately after He was baptised in water and the Spirit was to fast.
THEN WAS JESUS LED UP OF THE SPIRIT INTO THE WILDERNESS TO BE TEMPTED OF THE DEVIL. AND WHEN HE HAD FASTED FORTY DAYS AND NIGTHS? HE WAS AFTERWARD AN HUNGERED. (Mt 4: 1-2)
If Jesus needed to fast before He ministered then we certainly need to! Later on in Mattthew Jesus gives some teaching on fasting .
AND JESUS SAID UNTO THEM, CAN THE CHILDREN OF THE BRIDECHAMBER MOURN AS LONG AS THE BRIDEGROOM IS WITH THEM? BUT THE DAYS WILL COME WHEN THE BRIDEGROOM SHALL BE TAKEN FROM THEM AND THEN SHALLTHEY FAST. ( Mt 9: 15)
Also, He takes it for granted that everybody will fast by saying:
MOREOVER WHEN YE FAST, BE NOT, AS THE HYPOCRITES, OF A SAD COUNTENANCE: FOR TEY DISFIGURE THEIR FACES? THAT THEY MAY APPEAR UNTO MEN TO FAST. VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, THEY HAVE THEIR REWARD ( Mt 6:1)
This verse does not say "if you fast", but "when you fast". Fasting is not an option but a requirement for true Christian discipleship and especially Cristian ministry. How a person can fulfil their call withouh regular time of fasting and prayer remains a ministrery.
When we come to the area of deliverance ministry, fasting is an absolute requirement for Jesus said
HOWBEIT THIS KIND GOETH NOT OUT BUT PRAYER AND FASTING ( Mt 17: 21)
Let us summarise the benefits of fasting
1 It loose the bands of wickedness.
2 It will undo the heavy burdens.
3 It lets the oppressed go free.
4 It breaks every yoke.
5 It enables you to feed the poor.
6 It helps you to clothe those who are naked.
7 It enables you to provide for your own family
8 It causes your ligth to break forth.
9 It speeds up your calling.
10 It makes righteousness go before you.
11 It allow the glory of the Lord to be a shield behind you.
12 It causes God to hear and answer your prayers.
13 It guarantees guidance all the time throughout life.
14 It causes you to be provided for in recession.
15 It makes you like a watered garden ( i.e. fruitful).
16 It brings renewal, restoration, revival and reformation.
I trust that you will now go now into your prayer closet and repent of not taking fasting seriously and begin now.

A lot of People in the USA, UK and all over the globe are just waiting to hear that you have chosen to go out for Jesus and then they can fundraise for your success.
