The other day someone told me because I was a Christian, they should be able to slap me and (I must) turn the other cheek. The term turn the cheek was a saying in Jesus' day. A slap to the left side of the face was meant as an insult. While a backhand across the right side was meant to degrade a person. Jesus was saying give them the right side also, because they can not degrade you, I have given you my dignity, and they can not have it. However many unbeliever and some Christians have no idea this is what it means. So to slap a "Christian attempting to harm him physically is not the same as attempting to degrade, and it may get you hurt" is what I told him.
