Dr. Graves was a gentle a giant and mentor. He was so kind to me to allow me a student at American Baptist to preach at the great Temple Church because of Pastor Drumwright at the end of it all he encouraged me.

I too was deeply moved watching the montage of Bishop Graves, reflecting on the countless sermons I heard him deliver. He made an indelible impression on the landscape of Nashville and on the minds of many, many young preachers especially mine. He is gone but definitely not forgotten. Thank you for posting.....

Tears came to my eyes... remembering the ministry of Pastor Graves. He began temple in the chapel of American Baptist College and I can still remember Temple Church when they met in that gym before they built that glorious sanctuary. I was at the first service when they went in and I remember how he talked in private chambers with us young preachers about how much it was costing. They had to step out on faith, but God really delivered. I will always remember the words of the last sermon I heard him preach while visiting my father's church.... "Good Help is Hard to Find"... We will miss you Pastor Graves!
