It can return void if God didn't speak a word to the prophet (Jeremiah 5:30,31) A horrible and shocking thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end".

The Prophet is more than a fortune teller, God doesn't just use the prophet to encourage the people, he also rebukes the people. Further shouldn't we believe God, more than the Prophet, shouldn't whatever the prophet say be backed by scripture, which you say these things at the end before it goes off. But I think we teach people to put to much confidence in the man prophet than the servant prophet (servant of the Lord). We need to point people to the Father so that they can go deeper and learn the voice of the Father themselves so that when false prophets come they will be able to try the Spirit by the Spirit. People can get stuck thinking that whoever comes saying thus says the Lord and I am Prophet that it's going to happen and bro that just ain't true.
