Women are prominent in the story of Jesus—he was born of a woman, had numerous interactions with women, and was seen first by women after his resurrection. Tonight we will learn about some of those women.
Jesus, unlike the men of his generation and culture, taught that women were equal to men in the sight of God. Women could receive God’s forgiveness and grace. Women, as well as men, could be among Christ’s personal followers. Women could be full participants in the kingdom of God. Jesus offered full discipleship to women.
Apostle Paul wrote: “You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:26-28).
All are invited to come and join us in the study, discussion and prayers.

Reverend Newtonia Patrice Hemphill
Reverend Hemphill attends Friendship West Baptist Church under the fellowship of Pastor Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III and Lady Debra K Peek-Haynes. Newtonia serves in the MIT, (FORMERLY) GAAP Ministry, the Comforters Ministry, Premarital Course, Prenatal Care Parenting, WOW, Covenant Keepers, Drama, and The Voices that Shot to say the least. Her passion for people doesn’t stop with the service at the church; it extends beyond the walls to a local senior living apartment complex. Together with a fellow Reverend, she teaches Bible study every Wednesday during the 10a hour on behalf of Friendship West.
Newtonia has her own ministry, Teach Us Truth International Ministries, Inc. (housing several ministries and nonprofits under its belt) and a wedding and event planning business, Theophany Weddings and Events, Inc.
Newtonia is planning to have a ministry prelaunch and rebirth, in 2014. Look for upcoming worship services and community events in the near future.
