Certificate thru Bachelor’s in Christian Counseling

Certificate in Christian Counseling A 30 unit core is required.
The certificate in Christian Counseling can be earned at very little cost. This is ideal for clergy who have no counseling experience or no seminary background. After this certificate is earned you will only need 30 hours to complete the Associates Degree in Christian Counseling Education. The courses can be completed at your own pace. Although, it may take a few months to read the material it is in-depth therefore it make take at least 4-6 weeks to complete a courseThere will be a fee for the printing and shipping of diploma. Upon completion of the Certificate the student will only need 30 more hours to obtain an Associate’s Degree.

Associate Degree

Associates Degree in Christian Counseling 60 Credit Hours Some courses will be required in Biblical Studies and 20 hours in Christian Counseling. Life Experience Credit will be accepted at the discretion of the Dean of Christian Education and President.

Bachelor's Degree

Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Counseling 120 Credit Hours Some course work will be required in Biblical Studies. There is a prerequisite of an Associate Degree in a related field such as human resources, social work, criminal justice, and any other helping profession will be accepted at the approval of the seminary President and Dean. Life Experience Credit will also be accepted. At this level students will be required to show more critical thinking therefore 1-3 page papers and power point presentations will be required.

Master's Degree

Master Degree in Christian Counseling Education 150 Credit Hours More course work will be required in biblical studies. There will be a prerequisite of a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, counseling, criminal justice, and teaching which and counseling within a church setting which will be counted as life experience with the approval of the President of the college and the Dean. If your Bachelor’s Degree was obtain through the Eastern Missouri Bible College students will need 30 hours above the Bachelor’s Degree. No thesis is required but students will be required develop more critical thinking and problem solving skills therefore papers and power point presentations will be required along with an exit exam upon the completion of each course.

Doctoral Degree

Doctoral of Christian Counseling Education180 Credit HoursMore course work in biblical studies will be required. In the event a prospective student has a Master’s Degree in a related field such as human services, counseling, criminal justice, and education they must have at least five years of experience providing counseling in a church setting or be a licensed or ordained clergy for at least five years. If a student obtained his/her Master’s from the EMBC they will only need 30 hours above the masters. Students will not be required to write a dissertation but before a student can complete the program they must write a proposal on how Christian Counseling Education will be used within the church community. Students will be required to have exit exams along with papers and power point presentations.
