Are seers interchangable with prophets and are seers in today's society. Only time seers are mentioned are in the Old Testament.

thank you prophetess,
I knew a little about it because when I first got saved God told me I was going to be like Daniel and I knew according to scripture that he was able by the Spirit of God to interpret dreams and visions. Jesus is real

Praises to ahis Name, Sis Carolyn;
SEER A name that some theologians use as ""Divination" / Websters/Merriams Colllegiate Dictionary, states; One with a crystal glass or globe to see through, by concentration.

Some has refrained from using the term "seer", due to the operation & connection, and considered "Divination/Omen/Witchcraft practices. God's Biblial terminology as Seer, is one that sees visions. Open visions/ or Spiritaul Encounter Visions.
There are two kinds of Prophets:
1. "Nabi" To bubble forth, (to babble on), by just continous speaking forth of Prophecy.
2. A "Seer": A visionaire; One that sees in the Spirit
One with extraordinary insight, telling forth of prophecies, by seeing in the spirit, (with all kinds of visions as God reveals to the Prophet)

Many have opened their mouths and professed to know and see, as revealed by an Un-Holy Spirit, as in Acts 16:16, the woman with the spirit of divination. later rebuked by Apostle Paul. Ezk 13:6-7

Some Prophets operate as seer, some as Nabi" Prophets. I have personally sat under & mentored under the Ecclesiastical Prysbetery of Apostles, & Prophets, who has both gfitings & anointings, and yet flow prophetically under the unction of the Anointing,with accuracy & clarity.

The term "Seer" has been used lightlyto some in this modern day of prophecy.

Be blessed,

In His Love & Service
"Queen Israel"
