A British newspaper conducted a study of the 10 major cities in North America to discover and rank the most "gospel impacted" cities. According to the study results, DFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth) is ranked #1 as the metroplex with the most openly professing, "gospel impacted" people. However, they conducted an additional study on the most 'Transformed' cities as a result of the gospel, and DFW came in last. In other words, DFW is a metroplex that has been impacted by the gospel, and let me qualify that statement according to the criteria of the newspaper, {impacted with regards to being an area where the gospel of Jesus Christ is often and readily shared by a variety of ministries and medias and by the persons who make profession of being Christian} but DFW has not been 'Transformed' by the gospel. Various government based statistics such as unwed pregnancy, teen pregnancy, crime, local political corruption, church scandals, and attitudes towards abortion, only helped to highlight the failure of the church to influence this metroplex to the point of practical change.

I want to challenge those of us who teach, to begin to look at how we teach practical Christianity. That begins by
re-evaluating our Sunday school, and/or Christian education ministries; as well as our mid-week services. It is my prayer that we would do more to "see" transformative behavior from our parishoners not just on Sunday but Monday through Saturday where we as Christians most engage the world.

Be a blessing! Matt. 5:16
