Should a pastor that spends most of his time preaching and teaching get paid for what God has him to do? I know what the scriptures says about this, but would you pastor for free?

YOU SAID
In the seventeen hundred years of christianity,

With resepct that would be 1950 years...I will say this... the Torah, 5 books of Moses is the word of God...but the fact remains, one cannot understand the first covenant without the 2nd covenant..the 2nd being a much better covenant ...It includes the manifestation of the corner stone...to reject it, is to reject Jehovah..

Mr. Preacher writes:"With resepct (thanks) that would be 1950 years...I will say this... the Torah, 5 books of Moses is the word of God...but the fact remains, one cannot understand the first covenant without the 2nd covenant..the 2nd being a much better covenant"
Mr. P. are you a lifetime student of history?. I only ask that because for the first two hundred years ( rounded off) observance was strickly Hebrew in all it's tennants...and traditions the psycology of the mind and intellect If you start following out the Timeline of Romes foolish interpolations....what you will discover will help you spit out that which is not of G-d. A few years ago I took all that I could piece together and compiled it into a writing 'Treading out of the Quagmire" ~ rounded out it is about seventeen hundred years of garbage; Not of the original. Why? because of the hellinist leanings.
For a Pastor to pastor a church for free is non-biblical. I am currently doing so at at a church which I planted in a college town with varied demography with many churches which appear to serve only its members rather than all of God's children. There are persons in my church who sincerely believe that Pastors are not entitled to compensation for their service. In my own case I find myself in difficult and different situations which I could not handle without a good theological training which allows me to select from several tools in my "bag." The cost of a good theological training is very high; I went to school because the call to ministry is also a call to preparation. There are many of us out there who may oy may not agree with this. I, however, find training essential to my teaching/preaching ministry. That training costs money. Perhaps Paul did not pay for the three years at the feet of Gameliel, nor the disciples as they spent three years with Jesus; we do not have that luxury. We pay and ought to be paid a reasonable compensation for the we do, ofttimes unnoticed. In response, I am currently preaching and teaching for free, but as my congregation grows, I pray that I will get paid for my ministry as the Scriptures says.
Charles writes: "For a Pastor to pastor a church for free is non-biblical."...oh really,... lets see:::Throw this out of your christian bible then:~Freely receive freely give "

What the ruach HaKodosh gave you to share with others it is to be given free...[ Yochannon stated you have 'no one' teach you but the HS/ Ruach HaKodosh guides you [as you study and cling to G-d in reverence] to The Torah basics first and formost...Bet Yochannon/first John 2:v 27

If the pastors were not fleecing the flocks one way or anopther[ meaning doing their respective denominations rulings/ and corporate structures]then there would be a mass exodus out from the harlotry.
No I would not! I think that a pastor that does not teach is church the importance of taking care of the shepard is doing the church and injustice. I have seen churches that have that frame of mind and they are robbing themselves of their blessings.
No. Of course the pastor is to be paid. The sriptures says so in 1 Corinthians 9 .......

13 Do you not know that those who perform sacred services eat the food of the temple, and those who attend regularly to the altar have their share from the altar?
14 So also the Lord directed those who proclaim the gospel to get their living from the gospel.

And 1 Timothy 5:17-18......

17 The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.
18 For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing,” and “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”
Hello everyone, I would just like to add this if I may:
"And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to " Luke 10:7

I Timothy 5:18 For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain," and "The worker deserves his wages NIV

Phil. 4:13-4:17
Apostle Paul said this, I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
4:14 Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.
4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.
4:16 For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.
4:17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account

God bless,

Interesting:...

So what does the TaNaKh state about being a Servant unto G-d...The Misrah, the Gemarah, the commentaries from Rashi. Or Rambam,...Maimonidies...and many, many more Hasidic writings of historical documents, far more than just a few words selected from Rome.
Example,...What does James The Just say...Hmmmm It seems that with thirty years as the leader of the Baal Teshuvah movement, That there would be a lot more from a Pious Rabbi would you think????...However James/Yaakov the Just' is an embarrasment to the Roman Gospel because he is a stand up JEW (as his brother Yeshua was) who obeys the Torah' [ Obedience to Torah study~is greater than sacrifice_ I hope somebody gets that] ...therefore his writings were not given to the Imperial church of Romes version of Gospel.therefore the sheeple do not fully understand the principles and you get superficial answers without clear facts. And with that the harlotry continues...

I suggest those who have an ear and heart for G-d, go and dig deeper past the quagmire and find out real answers.

Folks as I walk through this writing and the responses,... For the most part Your readers and responders have not a clue as to what obedience to the Torah really is Why?..Because for the most part have only one source for your understanding of this subject. The Christian bible or Bris hadassah, a few commentaries like an Ungers etc.with a slant toward a particular doctrine.

The walk of G-d is a literal walking out of your own personal 'Salvation if you would allow that analogy toward pauls statement,.. That he walked or worked out his own personal salvation with Fear and trembling...

Gee wizzzz... Did he [Paul] know something more about adherence to the Torah than a public statement that you all love J-sus...Hmmm,...I think he is a lot deeper in his understanding than the superficial responses here.

Just a thought...

The Tanakh taken all together as one in the Divine plan of G- is full of 'Salvation.

As every Jew knows the word is full of healing and a promise of the world to come for everybody who adheres to the Torah walk..Or at the very least the Noahide laws that Yeshua and others were teaching in this movement to the Goyim/gentiles.
Trust me It was Not a New religion.

However, you have the Christian version that you need a middle man or woman between you and G-d,... So then we somehow think we need a middle man in a pulpit spewing his denominations doctrine and not that of the Torah of G-d given to Moshie as Instruction for all who would come up the Mountain however the children were scared ...[Deut/Deverim 5:v5]..That states that everyone is to have made themselves ready and then go up.....To make aliyah...

A real Rabbi is not looking to fleece the flock, Why because the Humility required to be called of YHVH is deep reverence and STUDY...Hope everybody does just that..if you do,...then these words may be clearly heard as a bath Kol"Come out of Her"
And all the pulpit harlotry and greed seems to pass away.
Leviticus 19:30 "And revere My sanctuary"
People like you Yaakov and Hadasah Terry are the reason why more people will not give their lives to G-d (I understand why you do this). The arrogance and hauty spirit which you display is why you will not be listened to. The Bible is the Word of God and from what I see that is what people were coming from, not their opionion. Of course I know you will chew me up and spit me out but the simple fact is this is why this world is so divided because of know it all people such as yourself.
A little Off topic...

Lashon Harah was not in My retort...However it was in yours.Shepherd?

Your attack defiled your retort and confidence more than mine as I have no reputation to uphold so I can fleece the flock on Sun- worship day

I suggest you might learn what controlling the Yetzer harah is..Perhaps teach it at your little congregation for that matter..of course you would have to obtain that which is lost to gain the greater truth...So really I was not aroogant as someone supposes

And NO that is not why as you suggest... it has already been told to me in Writing they will not listen to Me even though what I write is researched truth,... Because if my picture is of me on my page They will not listen because I am not black...Just a simple Jew trying to get folks to come away from that which is not true....Geee wiz go and figure that!!!

Now as to my arrogant babblings that line up with the Rabbinic or better Hasidic teaching of a first centuary Rabbi like Mar Yeshua ben Yoseph' then Crucuify me all the more.

I will not lie..to fill my pockets as some do...harlotry from the pulpits MUST be addressed So what are you afrraid of That somebody might go and crack open the books of wisdom and come out of the paganism of infiltration.

Why is it most Rabbis live in poverty...all through out history it is evident..Yet the Xian version puts the TD's of the circus into 4...and 6...million dollar mansions..Hey it works great for Joel Osteen..so why not for another...Just do the JC dance and reap the benefits..it is all so well meaning...NOT
Well I am not a pastor, but I will answer in human terms. If the pastor is wealthy and does not need money to provide for himself & his family, then maybe he can afford to volunteer his /her services. However, in practical terms, most people
I think would expect to be compensated. It provides an incentive for the person to want to help the church, while meeting
his or her basic human needs.
