Hi Janice

I believe it was about pride. Pride in their godless and lawless deeds. Pride in their homosexuality and fornication.

That is my understanding, but I look forward to others commenting.

Blessings
It was about many spirits that dwelled amongst these "cities of the plains" it was more than Sodom and Gomorrah, it was as well, Admah, Zeboim, and Bela, these cities in Canaan was called the Pentapolis Region that was on the southern plains of the River Jordan.

...the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha." (Genesis 10:19)

12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly" (Genesis 13:12-13)

Canaanite" means, "lowlands people". Since the word "land" is related to the concept of "earth" or "ground", the "lowlands" refer to low earthly passions. Canaanite spirits are the spirits behind addictions and sexual perversions.

The spirits of homosexuality and lesbianism, along with all other sexual perversions, are Canaanite spirits,

Canaanite spirits are spirits of carnal excess nothing is never enough.
I thank you for that insight it is good info
