Many males Pastors are passing and leaving there wives to Pastor to include Mega Churches.

In the past years so many male Pastors have passed 40, 50 and 60 years old and left there wives to Pastor . Do you feel the Pastors take care of them selves , there health and rest properly?

No pastor male or female can leave there spouse to pastor anything. God and God alone calls pastors.any ministry that do there own there cannot prosper.
Not all are hired, Bro Watson. Not all.......
Rev. Luckett, Its good to hear from you and all the comments on this topic.. We agree with you, Pastors are wearing there selves out and they need to trust other Ministers that God has sent them to assist with the people and use there giftings , callings and annotings,We live in an age of greed and fame. Having several Churches, if the Lord has called and its your season and timing to do that but preaching 3 and four services one person in one day or 7 services a week its abusing your selves.. We have 23 outreaches, our church and outreach offices and Ministry operate from 6.00 AM to 11.30 PM , that included the schools and daycares seven days per week and I am there for only two services per week and in the office by appointment because I have to study , pray rest, meet with key staff and oversee the Ministry. I have learnt to rest, take regular mini vacations and as you stated ,Jethro told Moses appoint able people and only let them bring the hard things to the Pastor. We have to have personal regular time for our prayer and study time, our health , sanity , well being, our families and Spouses if we are married and our selves on a regular schedule. Jesus saw the need to rest and get away.
Rev Luckett, lets pray Pastors and Ministers will read this blog and slow down. Lets try to direct them to this. Send this to our friends on this site , we have already sent this to all of our friends on this site. , maybe those that are not Pastors or the five fold ministry will pray and get this to there Pastors so they will slow down and balance Ministry and there lives and Family.
ZION IS GOING HOME!
God bless everyone; and yes this is a very serious and interesting topic!

There are a few factors:
1) Many Pastors and/or co-pastors HAVE NOT BEEN CALLED BY GOD TO DO ANY OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING; they are in it because they were raised up in church, dad was a pastor, grand dad, etc and many carry on or move into positions; without the call of God on there life.

2) Some are wearing themselves out; some are not true believers of the word of God and it is just CHURCH AS USUAL WITH NO POWER OF GOD; operating out of self and mans ability alone; and things expand but with no real change and transformation to it's members nor to themselves. Some could possibly be checking out because they are in the way of God purpose for NOW, TODAY AND THEY WERE STUCK IN DOING THINGS THERE WAY AND NOT WILLING TO CHANGE!

3) I don't know what or how this effects the legal structure for tax purposes; or if this allows salaries for both instead of just the one pastor, etc. THERE IS SO MUCH THAT GOES ON BEHIND THE SCHENES IN MINISTRY THAT IF THE TRUTH BE KNOWN IT WOULD SHOCK MANY!!!!! Yes God wants us to be good stewarts over that WHICH HE HAS GIVEN FOR US TO STEWARD (THAT'S IF HE HAS TRULY GIVEN IT TO US OR APPOINTED AND ANOINTED US TO DO IT) many things and situations will be revealed and brought to the forefront.

4) Some are called of God but don't win the race; THEY DO NOT ENDURE! AS WITH MOSES MANY HAVE SEEN MIGHTY THINGS AND TREMENDOUS GROWTH IN MINISTRY BUT LOST TOUCH WITH GOD AND HAVE BECOME POWERLESS AND THEREFORE THEY DO NOT ENTER INTO THE PLACE THAT GOD HAD FOR THEM: THE PLACE OF REST; THIS IS JUST NOT TALKING ABOUT HEAVEN THIS IS FOR THE HERE AND NOW! THE BLESSING OF THE LORD MAKETH RICH (RICH IN ALL AREAS OF OUR LIFE....IF WE ALLOW IT TO AND PROPERLY APPLY THE WORD WITH BALANCE AND PRIORITY IN OUR LIVES) AND IT... WHEN GOD BLESSES IT MAKETH RICH AND ADDS NO.......NO SORROW! THIS IS THE BLESSING.....WHAT ARE MEN AND WOMEN OF GOD TRULY STRIVING FOR TO OUT DO ONE ANOTHER; THOSE IN COMPETITION WITH EACH OTHER!!!! IT SHOULD NOT BE THAT WAY!

5) THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING......LEADERS IN MINISTRY NEED TO STOP PLAYIN CHURCH AND TRULY SEEK GOD AND SPEND TIME IN HIS PRESENCE! NO ONE CAN PROPERLY LEAD EVEN IF THEY ARE CALLED IF THEY ARE NOT IN CONSTANT COMMUNION WITH THE ONE WHO HAS CALLED AND SENT THEM! IT IS HIS PLAN FOR HIS GLORY; SO HE KNOWS ALL ABOUT IT! MOST OF WHAT WE HAVE BEEN SEEING IS MANS GUESS WORK, LOTS OF ACTIVITIES AND MUCH BUSYNESS; BUT WITH NO REAL CHANGE IN THE LEADERS SO OF COURSE IT IS NOT IN THOSE OF WHOM THEY SHEPHARD! GOD SAID HE WILL CHOOSE THOSE WHO ARE SHEPHARDS AFTER HIS HEART; THOSE WILL LEAD HIS PEOPLE IN THIS NEXT MOVE!!!!

6) Some of it is an attack from the enemy; If one is able to bind the strong man (the head of a family, church or organization) then the intent is to ruin the entire house!

AGAIN, THESE ARE SOME FACTORS, NONE, SOME OR ALL MAY APPLY IN SOME SITUATIONS! ONLY GOD KNOWS THE TRUTH BEHIND ALL!

GOD BLESS! IT IS TIME TO PRESS IN AND BECOME DOERS AND NOT JUST HEARERS OF THE WORD, NOT JUST THE PARTS WE WANT BUT ALL OF THE WORD!
Janice Marshall, great comments and so true, so well expressed, bless you.
BELOVED, THIS IS A GOOD TOPIC THAT ALL MINISTERS SHOULD READ AND TAKE POSITIVE DECISION ABOUT.
THE RIGHT THING IS, THE SENIOR PASTOR SHOULD GIVE HIMSELF REST WHILE THE ASSOCIATE PASTOR CONTINUE MINISTRY. AS THE SENIOR PASTOR REST, READ AND MEDITATE ON THE BIBLE HE WILL GET MORE VISION AND REVELATION FROM THE LORD CONCERNING THE WORK OF THE MINISTRY. SO, IT MEANS THIS IS EVEN FOR THE BENEFITS OF THE SENIOR PASTOR.
IF PASTOR WIFE IS CALLED BY GOD INTO THE MINISTRY, NO PROBLEM BUT IF THE PASTOR JUST PUT THE WIFE THERE BY HIMSELF BECAUSE OF HIS POSITION AS THE SENIOR PASTOR, THIS WILL SURELY KILL THAT CHURCH.
Rev Ehimen,Great ponits, Send this to all your friends so they can respond and Pastors can get this information. To many are dying early or there health is very poor or they are sressed out and homes broken up.
Many do not take care of themselves and I understand when the pastoral calling carries such a heavy responsibility and the love of God is so deep and the needs of the people are so great often pastors find it hard to pull away. Ministry can produce much stress if a pastor does not take time for him/herself, and it can lead to health problems that can eventually lead to death.

My husband died of liver cancer (with numerous other health complications) and no it wasn't the result of ministry but I do believe it could have been detected early if my husband had taken the time for himself which he did not.

My husband pastored a Deliverance Ministry and the doors of the church were open 7 days a week and my husband was there 7 days a week and so were the people who needed ministering to. As his wife yes I had my issues with his 7 day a week schedule. I understood that he was first my husband and second a pastor and my responsibility was to care for him first as my husband. It was difficult watching him sacrifice his own health.

When my husband passed, unlike so many unanointed to be pastor individuals, I recognized that being a pastor is a calling and is not attained by default. I do not have a pastoral calling on my life and had no great need for recognition that I would step into an office that first, God did not call me to and second, that I have no anointing to carry out. More importantly there are high ranking demons in wait for Deliverance Ministry Pastors and I was not about to minister outside of my grade/calling.

It would do well for us to know what God has called us to do and operate in the gift he has graced us to minister.

What softened the blow of my husband's death and kept me from getting angry or bitter was the outpouring of love shown by the individuals he had ministered to for years. Some saved and operating in ministry nationwide and others still unsaved but told me of their great love for my husband and how they appreciated his words of wisdom and according to them "one day I will get saved, he was always there for me and my family and he told me the truth even when I didn't want to hear it". You had to know my husband. His Truth was sometimes brutally honest. He was special :)

I would say pastors take care of yourself however I feel it would fall on deaf ears. Often the Love of God and the Love of People is so great all I can do is pray for pastors.

I pray you will give me written permisssion to read this on our Radio &Television programs and that People will get Pastors , there wives and Ministers to this site not for our populairty but to save lives. Thanks so much for your response and may God bless you.
