I believe you should leave a church if your spirit man is no longer being fed. I also believe you should leave if the pastor is not teahing/preahing what God's word says. So many people are being lead astray by false preahers thats why we must study the word for ourselves.
A fales doctrine
I think it is important to recognize the accountability factor when it comes to this subject matter.
We are accountable to God and we must be obedient to his Word and his will.
We are accountable to God for what we allow to penetrate our soul and spirit.
We are accountable to the people that God has placed in leadership over us.
If we are in leadership, then we are accountable to the people who we have stewardship over.

If either one of these is defiled or corrupted as it relates to your membership at a church, this is good indication that you might want to consider a new church home. Notice, I said consider. Sometimes God allows us to be placed in certain situations that we might be matured, become more knowledge, and be ultimately blessed. Of course, when we are in these situations, it doesn't always feel good. Therefore, it's imperative that we be lead and move only under a directive from God through his Holy Spirit.
I personally have based my belief on what the Word of God has said 2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Blessings upon you,
Well let me set this question before you, would you agree without physical and mentally ill people the local hospitals would not exist? now with that being said, it is understand God does not condone foolishness, but within scriptual reasoning what biblical reason do we have to leave any church, because we all are in the process of the Lord himself performing major open heart surgery on all of us. In the bible you have murderes, adulterers, prostitutes homosexuallity, misappropriations of funds, and the list can go on, so knowing that our biblical fathers have had issues, what about us today.
2 Corithians 13:11 reads Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, b>u>live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

THis is the what to do:
Philippians 4
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Amen to that! We should all study the word for our selves and get the understanding required so we won't get so easily deceived and pulled in every direction that is not of God.
That is a very narrow opinion to say the "only" reason. Many people are trapped to a building and tradition if that is the case. U should always and only listen to the Lord where he is leading and guiding u. There may be many reasons for leaving a church.

thanks Kenon
Leave, if you're inspired by the Holy Spirit to start one yourself.
The only reason I have ever left a church was because God led me to. I have been involved in three churches in the 50 years of my life and the last church I was with 15 years before God led me to pastor the ministry He's called me to... and now, I am under a Bishop to help me do the work God has called me to in ministry.

Thank you for your topic.
Good Evening my dear sister in Christ,
I will say this to you, three churches in 50 years says stability, along with the fact that it seems you are willing to stand still. Continue to hear the voice of the Master through the Bishop.
That's was some true facts you express and I agree to that because there are some churches that I have visited
with them same type of promblems going on. You be bless So So Entertainment
