I think he is demented!! How insensitive can you be? He is capitalizing on the pains and the suffering of those in need. Is his faith authentic? He seems to have forfeited his right to be called a son of God whose first love is always those who are last. Haitians were fighting to be released from French slavery!!!

Not sure of your biblical position on prophecy, but God makes no mistakes. Are you aware that even The Southern Baptists are concerned about Rev. Robertson's statements? Here is a quote:

Similarly, Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr., president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, responded to Robertson's "embarrassing" remarks by highlighting the"Theological arrogance matched to ignorance."

In a commentary posted Thursday, Mohler acknowledged that Haiti has a well-known history of the occult, voodoo, and sorcery. He also said he agrees that God does and will judge the nations and has sovereign power over everything.

But the highly respected evangelical scholar said "we have no right to claim that we know why a disaster like the earthquake in Haiti happened at just that place and at just that moment."

"We can trace the effects of a drunk driver to a car accident, but we cannot trace the effects of voodoo to an earthquake - at least not so directly," Mohler contended.

"Will God judge Haiti for its spiritual darkness? Of course," he added. But humans cannot claim to understand the judgment of God.

To illustrate his point, Mohler brought out a series of unanswerable questions.

"Why did no earthquake shake Nazi Germany? Why did no tsunami swallow up the killing fields of Cambodia? Why did Hurricane Katrina destroy far more evangelical churches than casinos? Why do so many murderous dictators live to old age while many missionaries die young?" he posed.

Mohler argued that instead of asking if God hates Haiti, people should simply say that God hates sin and know that individual sinners and nations will be punished.

"[T]he earthquake reminds us that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only real message of hope. The cross of Christ declares that Jesus loves Haiti - and the Haitian people are the objects of his love," Mohler concluded. "Christ would have us show the Haitian nation his love, and share his Gospel. In the midst of this unspeakable tragedy, Christ would have us rush to aid the suffering people of Haiti, and rush to tell the Haitian people of his love, his cross, and salvation in his name alone."

As Christian we should not be asking why did this happen, but how can we like God (after the fall of man) show compassion through the redemptive plan of Salvation. We can no more predict and understand God's mind then we can our own.

Peace,
Since when did Southern Baptists actually show that they have a clear understanding of the Apostolic or the Prophetic? Truth be told, when you look at Ministry from the sense that the Apostolic & Prophetic offices are closed, and/or you look at scriptures from a Sola Scriptura position, your prophetic eyes needs a seeing eye dog.

The problem with some of the statements made are that they are made with a total submission to being blind and ignorant to GOD's ways. People are so quick to cling to scriptures such as "My ways are higher than your ways", indicating that it is impossible for believers today to understand GOD's ways and judgments. However, the scriptures say otherwise:

1st Corinthians 2:9-16 "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ."

So who is right? The Southern Baptists who say we can't understand GOD's ways, or Apostle Paul who says that we can by His Spirit? You choose........
Trevor there is an excellent book entilted Disappointment with God by Phillip Yancey. I would encourage you to read it. You may agree with some of the points in the book, not sure. If it's not a part of your library, I will send you a free copy from our bookstore. Send me an email with your mailing address and it's on the way. tscott@healthylivingseminars.org

Personally, I believe that the earthquake was a result of the laws of nature at work and God allowed it, just like in many other situations. Thanks again for the comments and let me know if you would like a copy of the book. It' a good read.

Peace,
What intelligent man would turn down a good book? OK, I'll check it out. If its good or if its garbage, I let it be known.

Now, you never addressed my statements concerning the Southern Baptists. I would like a direct response for that please.
Trevor,

Continue to STAND STRONG, even in hard places!

The Bible is very clear . . .Galatians 6:7-8, Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

God doesn't have to do anything specifically, such as the natural disasters the world is experiencing to bring judgment against sin; the "natural law" that He gave is already doing it on a daily basis.

Shalom in Christ
I agree, though natural disasters are still His weapon of choice:

Job 38:1-3, 22-23 "Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.....Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?"

Matthew 24:3, 7-8 "And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?......For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."

Ezekiel 13:13 "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it."

2nd Corinthians 10:3-6 "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."

Need I go on.........?
..."Why did no earthquake shake Nazi Germany? Why did no tsunami swallow up the killing fields of Cambodia? Why did Hurricane Katrina destroy far more evangelical churches than casinos? Why do so many murderous dictators live to old age while many missionaries die young?" he posed.

Mohler argued that instead of asking if God hates Haiti, people should simply say that God hates sin and know that individual sinners and nations will be punished..."

Amen...Amen...Amen!!!
Ok Rev. Greene in terms of prophetic ettiquette, tell me when did you have your prayer breakfast concerning Haiti BEFORE The quake? How many trips did you take over there if you had such a burden for the people. Please tell me how many people did you have fasting and praying with you about their plight? I do not mean to sound obdurate, oh wait yes I do, but every instance Biblically speaking whenever God was going to send judgement the prophets were told to intercede, or even go to the place to inform the people that judgement was coming?
You agree with Pat Robertson, and yet he has been identified a fraud dozens of times over. for example., the time when he said that Jesus was coming back to the earth on a particular time and date. The deluded soul even had cameras set up in Jerusalem to capture the entire event. We of course know that nothing happened, Robertson plays on the ignorance of people who do not take the time to actually read and study for themselves. There is no passion for the people of God, there is merely a desire to use them for an end. In terms of citing the law against necromancy and holding that up as proof of some kind of "deal with the devil" in light of recent events my brother what has that to do with the price of rice at the corner. It is our job to serve, we do not ask for prerequisites because the One who calls us did not. When Jesus healed, bled and died He did not ask if a person went to a particular temple, He did not ask who a person's rabbi was. He did not even ask if the person tithed. HE SERVED Bringing up the "deal with the devil is irrelevant, what is relevant is that we are called to serve, PERIOD.
Robertson is wrong for bringing it up, he is a fraud and should not be paid attention to, and if we still were under the law this would be a moot point. I long for the days when the church actually becomes the church in her truest sense. When men of God actually understand that we are here to SERVE, to bleed and give our lives in service to and for those who need it most.
"...In terms of citing the law against necromancy and holding that up as proof of some kind of "deal with the devil" in light of recent events my brother what has that to do with the price of rice at the corner..."

...Or the tea in China.
I get your point, Brother Anthony.
Trevor, I can't speak for the Southern Baptists.Contact them for more clarity. I only use that quote because of Rev. Robertson's relationship with them. The bigger issue for me is that I offered a book for free for you to read and you break it down to garbage! You might not agree with everything in the book, but then again ... I am always interested in having an intelligent conversation with others. Especially with people who may have different views, but Christ's love must show or else it's a waste of my time. You can read about Phillip Yancey (Disappointment with God) and decide if you want the book or not.

Peace,
Trevor, remember these were prophets, not Monday morning quaterbacks. Yes God does use the laws of nature, He created them. But you and no one else can determine when He and how He decides to use them. The bible is not a history book or a receipe. You nor I can fully know God's mind. We can't know what He is thinking or what He will do. If that were the case, we should stay in the house, because I am chief sinner #1 and you #2. We can barely know our own minds.

Peace,
