Salvation is it eternal regardless of the circumstances or not come on lets get everyone’s opinion

But what is your take on what would have happened if the prodigal son or anyone who had received salvation backslides by rejecting the Father, His Son, the Holy Ghost and totally turned away from the faith and DIED without having repented or had the opportunity to return to the fold. Would that person be heading for hell or heaven? This is a conversation that came up with a couple of my work colleague when we were in an after discussion on Luke 15:11-32 so I would be interested in having a discussion and receiving everyone's point of view.

They told the prophets to stop saying what they were saying also...
The problem with this is WE don't choose Jesus...and It could not be called eternal life..If Its not indeed eternal...
whom the son has set free is free indeed... John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you ....
Also, exhorting one another means to also correct rebuke and teach...

Titus 2:15
These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee...

1 Timothy 4:13 Until I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching.

2 Timothy 4:2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction...

great patience means not easily giving up...being persistent...

lastly...

Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Hebrews 6:4-6 states, “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.” This is one of the Bible’s most difficult passages to interpret, but one thing is clear—it does not teach that we can lose our salvation. There are two valid ways of looking at these verses:

One interpretation holds that this passage is written not about Christians but about unbelievers who are convinced of the basic truths of the gospel but who have NOT become born again They are intellectually persuaded but spiritually unregenerated..

According to this interpretation, the phrase “once enlightened” (verse 4) refers to some level of instruction in biblical truth. However, understanding the words of scripture is not the same as being regenerated by the Holy Spirit. For example, John 1:9 describes Jesus, the “true Light,” giving light “to every man”; but this cannot mean the light of salvation, because not every man is saved. Through God’s sovereign power, every man has enough light to be held responsible. This light either leads to the complete salvation through Jesus Christ or produces condemnation in those are not elect... The people described in Hebrews 6:4-6 are of the latter group—unbelievers who have been exposed to God’s redemptive truth and perhaps have made a profession of faith, but are not the elect...and will never become saved...

the phrase “tasted the heavenly gift” (Hebrews 6:9) as referring to a momentary experience, akin to Jesus’ “tasting” death (Hebrews 2:9). This brief experience with the heavenly gift is not seen as equivalent to salvation; rather, it is likened to the second and third soils in Jesus’ parable (Matthew 13:3-23), which describes people who receive the truth of the gospel but are not truly saved.

Luke 8 11“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

There is no choice...we do not Interpret the bible Its interprets its self...thjose who fall short of truth tries to interpret...believing is a work as faith is a work believing means nothing in ourselves the bible says even the demons believe...our faith doesn't save us...that would be salvation by OUR works...Its the faith of Christ that saves us...his work on the cross..God Bless U sister
Preacher,

"we do not interpret the bible its interpret its self" < is one of the most unlearned thing I have ever heard. Preacher, whether your doctrine is false or not, you make interpretations. You believeing in OSAS is indeed an interpretation. You're contradicting yourself.

Believing is indeed a work, but mere belief in heart is not a work. To believe, from a Hebrew perspective, is to do. In other words, if I believe in Messiah, then I would do what He tells me. I would obey Him, and I would obey the Father. This salvation is not by faith alone. It is validated by our works. Abraham was not justified by pure belief. His belief in Yah's words to multiply his seed was justified by His actions of going to the land that Yah said to go to.

To believe merely by discretion of the heart is false faith. True faith is always validated by our obedience. That's biblical faith. While Christ has forgiven our past sins, we are to continue to live for him, for if our future sins are not covered, then this means we are to always be cautious of how we live... that it is according to the Torah.
1. Now in Genesis we know God's intention was for man to have eternal life because man was not prevented to eat from the tree of life only from the tree of knowledge of good and evil so God did not intend man to know evil or to die. Once sin came in man knew evil and just as God had evicted Lucifer in the first dispensation man was evicted from the garden and the tree of life was then protected.

While man knew only good he was free to live forever, but that position change when man knew evil he was no longer allowed to live for eternity as God did not want evil to live forever. SO FOR ANYONE TO SAY THAT A PERSON ONCE BORN AGAIN WILL HAVE ENTERNAL LIFE NO MATTER HOW HE WALK does not make sense. There would have been no reason for Adam and Eve's eviction. THERE WOULD ALSO BE NO REASON FOR ANYONE TO BE BORN AGAIN

2. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM should not perish, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

As long as mankind is in this world the opportunity of salvation is there for eternity. However, there is a stipulation on how the individual gets it and have eternal life. The believer must BELIEVE in the Son. When someone backslides and walk unrighteously they no longer believe in the Son so they forfeit their right to eternal life unless they REPENT.

If one WALKS IN the way of satan they do not believe in the Son, the way of the Son is righteous you cannot walk unrighteous and profess to believe in the Son.

Ezekiel 18:24 clearly show that it is possible for a righteous man to become unrighteous that is why it states that once that occurs the righteousness of that man is forgotten, he forfeit all past righteousness. If a man repents then he builds his righteousness if he does not he dies in sin.

Fact is Jesus died for our sin that will never change so for all eternity we will always have the chance of salvation to eternal life because of the shedding of blood one will always have the opportunity to repent of ones sin that is what is eternal the opportunity will also be there for us but one must believe one cannot believe if they are in sin because sin is not of the Son it is of the devil.

YOU CANNOT BE A BACKSLIDER AND ENJOY ETERNAL LIFE SIN IS NOT ALLOWED IN THAT GREAT AND PERFECT LAND
Beautifully stated. The Bible also states that we are not to enter into unfruitful debates, contentions, and the like.
A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city; And such contentions are like the bars of a castle.
Prov 18:19 (ASV)

At some point one can concede or agree to disagree as Sister Angela has attempted. Some do not desire truth being lost in a maze of egocentricity. Circular logic is a product of the flesh and cannot be interwoven with Holy Scripture. Clever Christians are dangerous to self and others. It is not a pretty picture. Line upon line, precept upon precept ... but wisdom is justified of her children.
THE FOLLOWING IS A EMAIL REPONSE TO THE QUESTION ABOVE SENT TO ME FROM Rev. Aaron Simpson I HAVE POSTED IT SO IT CAN FORM PART OF THE RESPONSE AND BE SUBJECTED TO COMMENTS:

• From Rev. Aaron Simpson to You

I must say that this is a interesting topic. I have never in my whole Christian life seen so many uninformed Teachers and Pastors of the Word say that you can lose Salvation. First of all when God saves you, you are saved. We did not save ourselves all that have come to Christ, God gave them to Him, and the day you I heard the Gospel Preahed and believed we were saved and seal in the Lambs Book of Life. If you have lost salvation you were neversaved in the first place. There are many in the church just going through the motion just for a check or just to be seen and are not saved. God knows all that is His.There is so much more that can be said. Many try to go to the book of Hebrews 6 chapter and try to prove you can lose salvation. And they take that scripture all out of context. I'll stop for now, God Bless you Sister
I give respect to Rev. Simpson however, I totally disagree with him. The Rev. from his email has been following the discussion why he has not chosen to join in is my guess.

However, I want to show fairness to ensure that all comments whether supporting the truth or not get in.

The Rev. has not offered any scripture to support his argument.

I urge him to consider what his definition of Salvation is and to explain John 3:16 in relation to a backslider because if John 3:16 state one must believe in the son to have eternal life how does he explain a backslider have eternal life. In order to be a backslider you must have stop believing in Jesus. In order to commit sin you must have stop believing in Jesus.

A backslider who stop believing and dies without repenting has died in sin their righteousness have been forgotten when they chose the path of the unrighteous.
100% Correct...the very point is God saves us..he makes no mistakes... If you have truly been born again you know you had nothing to do with it...LOL Praise God..

Amen Brother...
Preacher,

Once one becomes born again, and he has nothing to do with it, then that means Yah controls how much you sin. Thats blasphemous. Plus, you cannot lose what you never had in the first place.
Preacher do you believe there are such a case as backsliders.
Backsliding is a tricky word...what exactly is a backslider?

The word “backslider” or “backsliding” does not appear in the New Testament and is used in the Old Testament primarily of Israel. The Jews, though they were God’s chosen people, continually turned their backs on Him and rebelled against His Word (Jeremiah 8:9). That is why they were forced to make sacrifices for sin over and over in order to restore their relationship with the God they had offended. The Christian, however, has availed himself of the perfect, once-and-for-all sacrifice of Christ and needs no further sacrifice for his sin. God himself has obtained our salvation for us (2 Corinthians 5:21) and because we are saved by Him, a true Christian cannot fall away so as not to return.

Christians do sin (1 John 1:8), but the Christian life is not to be identified by a life of sin. Believers are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). We have the Holy Spirit in us producing good fruit (Galatians 5:22-23). A Christian life should be a changed life. Christians are forgiven no matter how many times they sin, but at the same time Christians should live a progressively more holy life as they grow closer to Christ. We should have serious doubts about a person who claims to be a believer yet lives a life that says otherwise. Yes, a true Christian who falls back into sin is still saved, but at the same time a person who lives a life controlled by sin is not truly a Christian.

You get much props for your persistence...and questioning for truth...Sister
