I think he is demented!! How insensitive can you be? He is capitalizing on the pains and the suffering of those in need. Is his faith authentic? He seems to have forfeited his right to be called a son of God whose first love is always those who are last. Haitians were fighting to be released from French slavery!!!

EVERY SINGLE WORD THAT YOU JUST SAID GOES AGAINST WHAT IS TAUGHT BY SCRIPTURE!!! There was not ONE thing that agree with the HOLY SPIRIT, nor the written word of GOD. NOT ONE!!!!

You said: "But you and no one else can determine when He and how He decides to use them......You nor I can fully know God's mind. We can't know what He is thinking or what He will do."

The Bible says:
Genesis 18:17-19 "And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him."

Amos 3:7 "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."

1st Corinthians 2:9-16 "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."

I truly believe that you are one that does not believe in the Prophetic office existing today. If not, then just say so. By dancing around it with your words, you are honestly making yourself look evasively foolish to the subject of Prophetic insight on the Kingdom of GOD's order.

GOD has taught us that we can know HIM, and in fact, that is the very point of discipleship: to learn to know HIM once again. You being a man that obviously is too smart for the Spiritual side of this fail to see that knowing HIS will is literally knowing HIS mind, not just studying what His Prophets said in His Bible, or heading to a Seminar School to earn a Doctorate of Divinity.

Isaiah 55:7-11 "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

This chapter in Isaiah is not talking to us saints, but to the sinner. Oh we foolish Christians have always been taught that GOD's mind is not able to be understood. This is not true, for it is HE that gives us the ability and actually wants us to understand HIM. This is a bond unlike any other, the unity of minds and hearts.

You are no longer a sinner if you are washed in CHRIST's righteous blood, you #1 and I #2.
If I may piggyback on your statement . . .

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:5

Shalom in Christ
Hi Chaplain Harris,

Not sure how to answer, but if you know the mind of God, what He is thinking, what He will do and when, then you should also know when He will return and how He and what He will say to each of us on judgement day! Paul is talking about servanthood and attitude!!!! Hebrews 1 is clear on the mind of God, the Holy Spirit has to reveal it.

You can't just quote scriptures without context. But I understand.

I can honestly say that I do not know what God is thinking unless the Holy Spirit provides it. I walk by faith not assurance that I know what God is up to.

Thanks for the post.
Dr. Scott,

Phil 2:5 is about a lifestyle of living like Christ. This was not posted out of context; I was reiterating what was already posted (statement was italicized).

Shalom
You must not have read what I said. Try reading it again.....
Trevor I read it and re-read it just to make sure that I was reading correctly what you had written. I wil dissect it later and post it here, but suffice it to say that one third of what you wrote was honestly nonsense. And before you go quoting scripture about how there are mysteries in God and how there are things that are only revealed to the prophets.. Consider this, in the days of the old covenant there was no way that God was going to reveal Himself to anyone except those who He specifically chose. After all there was a veil between God and the people of that day that only the priest could breach.
Notice when Jesus gave up the ghost on Calvary, the veil between God and man was permanently breached by way of the blood of Christ. People now have direct access to God on their own.Now before you go saying that I do not believe the office of a prophet is alive today, I also recognize that there are times when there are directives for the Body of Christ, specific to the Corporate, local Body. For that the office of a prophet is apropos. Should men go around looking for prophets as they did in ancient times, no, simply because we all who name the name of Jesus Christ have personal access to Him directly we have no more need of an intermediary to go on our behalf on a personal basis. When Paul was visiting one of the churches and received the word concerning his impending captivity he did not go after it, and in all liklihood he already knew about it, since prophesy is meant most times to confirm something that God is already dealing with you about. It is not a good thing to attempt to wrap a ministry office in shadow and mystery to attempt to gain some kind of spiritual cart blanche if you will simply by saying "I am a prophet and I operate in the prophetic". Those of us who have a relationship with God are all walking in the prophetic to a certain extent, its nothing special, nothing that elevates anyone to an higher standpoint or place or hierarchy. As I have said before I think that there is a lot of this going on in the black church, and it needs to stop so that we can grow up. We still act like children thinking that God loves me best because I am a prophet or I am a pastor so God loves me best. Sad truth is men like this have missed the entire point. We are called to serve, we are called to reach, we are called to bleed. Bonhoeffer wrote; "
We must learn to regard people less in light of what they do or omit to do, and more in the light of what they suffer". Does God love the people of Haiti, if the answer is yes then the comments of Pat Robertson who should be in jail for some things and removed from ministry for others is moot.
http://moriel.org/MorielArchive/index.php/discernment/church-issues...
To stand with him is counter productive to what I believe God wants to work out of the situation in Haiti. There are Saints there in Haiti, and based on how He has behaved in the past, God has some really great things in store for that country.
Once again all this is moot to the discussion at hand here. Pat Robertson is a fraud plain and simple. The black church needs to take the mystery out of serving God. Those that minister in the black church need to understand that we are here to serve, not to help ourselves at the expense of the people. I wonder many times watching some ministers service, "where is the passion fo the people"? Where is the desire to spend it all to move them, where is the bleeding, more importantly where is the BALANCE? There is always balance with the things of God, men who have no clue, usually throw things out of balance with their foolishness.
There is also one other thing that seems to be utter nonsense to you then: the fact that the true Apostle or Prophet is not always the person who runs to their job, but from their job. The offices of Apostle and Prophet are jobs that are hated and spat upon, so if you think that I'm doing this for notable mention, then you must have mistaken me for a fool! I don't expect a fan-base for what I say or do. I expect results from GOD's word.

Now, concerning the mysteries, yes there ARE still mysteries within the Kingdom of GOD, and the offices of Apostle and Prophet are here for the revelation of it, not the hiding of it. You mentioned the veil as if it had any relevance to the subject. The veil was all about coming into HIS presence, but even in HIS presence people don't always get it. It took the Apostles 8 whole years after the day of Pentecost (Acts 2) to realize that Gentiles could receive the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT. 8 YEARS!!!! They were filled with the HOLY SPIRIT, and it took them this long?? What can be said of that? Are you telling me that there are not still new mysteries? Then you must read your Bible:

Revelation 2:17 "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it."

Revelation 10:1-4 "And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: and he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not."
Amen Trevor.
Arrogance is not a gifting, it is a problem, incorrect exegesis is not a gifting either, it is a problem. seek help
The thing you call arrogance will be someday the very thing that you will be seeking GOD for.

Years of ministry experience in only one Ministry area cries out for a paradigm shift. I have to ask: I read about your history of Pastoral Ministry involvement that stems from generations of family members. Quite impressive! Now, how much do you know of the Apostolic Ministry?
My knowledge of Apostolic history is not relevant to this argument, nor is the fact of my family history, why bring that up in this discussion. Are we vacillating on a point here?
Quite the opposite, your knowledge of Apostolic Ministry (NOT Apostolic history, for there is a difference) is very relevant.
