I think he is demented!! How insensitive can you be? He is capitalizing on the pains and the suffering of those in need. Is his faith authentic? He seems to have forfeited his right to be called a son of God whose first love is always those who are last. Haitians were fighting to be released from French slavery!!!

And as far as seeking God for confidence in who I am in Him, and knowing that I do not have to promote myself or my calling in order to feel important, got over it and myself looong time ago. I know who I am, and whose I am, I know what I am here to do. I also am smart enough not to take anything that another MAN says to me to heart without first checking it out in several ways. Seeking God for the thing I call arrogance nope sorry not gonna happen I know who I am in Him, don;t need to add arrogance to the mix.
Jonathan:

Arrogance is not a gifting, it is a problem,

So, what is this????? Does your family history qualify you as a biblical scholar?????

First let me give you some background. I have been involved in ministry for most of my life. My father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, several uncles, a even more cousins are all involved in the pastorate.

Apparently, you do as many others tend to do, read into a person's comment/statements what you want to read which ends up being far from the facts and true meaning of what the author wrote.
Chaplain, I wasn't even gonna go there! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

You never seen me place my pedigree up there for anyone except on my profile. Does it really matter? Not at all......
Putting my history out there with regard to a DIFFERENT SUBJECT is not arrogance especially when done so to establish that I am cogent of ministry done in the black church. That is called establishing history for the foundation of a discussion. Once again not something relevant to this argument, because even in THAT discussion, I turn the focus away from myself and aim it squarely at the people looking for answers. Even there I do not promote myself but I do ask HARD questions of the ones who are supposed to be able to clear up confusion. Surely as a chaplain you know that if there are men in your charge who are confused about thing spiritual YOU being the man or woman of God are charged with eliminating the same.
Bro. Jonathan,

For a man of God who speaks with compassion about God's people and at the same time, attempt to tear down another man of God because he's not preaching a fuzzy wuzzy message, and then on top of that, you post a thread on the passing of an R&B singer, Teddy Pendergrass - how does his passing have any bearing on the Gospel or the need to live in obedience to God's commandments? What do we need to remember about this singer that lines up with the Word and will edify our souls?

Beloved Soul Star Teddy Pendergrass Dead at 59

I don't think we need an Apostle or Prophet to explain this, so maybe you can. I am always willing to learn from a man or woman of God.

Shalom
Uh Chaplain, I did not post, have not posted, am not in the slightest bit interested in posting anything on Teddy Pendergrass. I did not even like the man's muisc, Now had it been Stevie,.... I might have posted something. However I am not sure where you got that one, But with regard to questioning another man of God hard with regard to this mess regarding Haiti I do so because the mess that Robertson started with regard to haiti ignores the fact that the French who likley started this rumor had to explain how an island of slaved could have defeated their armies. I got a history lesson from another brother; Toussaint L'Oveture (sp) who led the revolt was a devout catholic. He led the revolt, and countries on this side of the ocean, and the other side ignored Haiti,. The US and Haiti were the only two democracies on this side of the globe during the early part of the 19th century. Sad truth is that Robertson like so many have to find a way to explain away the success of a slave revolt some 200 years after its occurance other than that the slaves wanted to be free more than the French wanted to keep them in bondage. But what is really sad is that we in the Body are totally ignorant of History, and are willing to take in the lie, rather than do the research necessary to understand the real truth behind a thing. If you and Trevor wish to continue in ignorance please go right ahead, but instead of attempting to tell me that I am ignorant of the things of God, perhaps you should do well to consider a different tact, because that one aint working.
Uh Chaplain, as you so wisely noted, my first name is Jonathan, my last name is Anthony, This metrics of this site understand that, and as such would have said "Posted by Jonathan" not "Posted by Anthony. Nice try at diversion, but close only counts in horseshoes or so the saying goes.
Also Chaplain your attempt to make this about me has me wondering, a few things

1. If you are attempting to place something at my feet that I supposedly did, at least have the courtesy to READ the entire posting....

2. If you read it and still felt that it was me, the question now has to be about your rational thinking because you would have to totally ignore the fact that my name is jonathan anthony, not anthony smith...

3. If the first two check out then the issue then turns to literacy because reading this

This is really my mother & fathers era, but I liked a lot of his songs. I also like Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes. Sound, [music] was different back than most of it was original, very few artist sampled.
Mr. Teddy Pendergrass will be missed by family, friends & fans from around the globe.

Yours truly,
Anthony Smith
And somehow coming to the conclusion that Anthony Smith, is Jonathan Anthony?? Wow Chaplain that is a reach to say the least....
