I now understand more and more about this so-call world of "Hip-Hop". I understand now why "Hip-Hop"has really no place in our churches and yet it's slowly creeping in our church doors. After hearing all of this, I will stand behind fellow clergy members by NOT allowing "Hip-Hop" into our churches.

Pastors,Ministers and Church Leaders, would you allow "Hip-Hop" in your churches? Is this a way in keeping our youth in church? I am interested in all feedback concerning this issue.

Bro. Anthony,

You had no problem at all disqualifying Sis. Angela's right to engage in this discussion; why is it that you are so greatly offended when I have disqualified your right to engage in this discussion?

Furthermore, this is presicley why I took exception to you answering for Pastor Day in the first place...because at best all you can do is say what you believed he meant howvever unless (you took up mind reading) you can't say for sure what he meant.

The fact that you have no respect for authority only makes my point stronger...I apologized too you; I even agreed with some of what you said and what I absolutly disagreed with you on; I left you alone not because I had no rebuttle to it, (believe me you left yourself very open) but because you are a product of your current teaching and you are currently under the teaching of another;

25 years ago, I was where you are: my belief is that if you are under the teaching of a Pastor then no other Pastor has a right to undermine, or interfere with that teaching...Sir you might be a great Pastor some day; but you are not one now...you don't face the challanges now, you don't pay the price now...and its easy to say what you will do, should do, might do, and would have done but its different when you get behind the wheel and actually have to do it.

Brother Anthony, with all do respect, I read your answers to the questions that I posed to Pastor Day; you wrote what you believe to be true, however you based your entire argument on a false premise; therefore your argument was not rellevant.

Now you may not agree with me at all! I don't expect you too, you won't even be able to look at things from my perspective until you get there, that 's why we CAN'T have this discussion!

I go You disqualified Sis. Angela on the basis that she is not a "Scholar" (in your opinion) I disqualified you based on the fact that you are not a Pastor, you don't even have the ability to change anything in your church even if you agreed with me...there is no point of continuing with you.
no offense)

Besides; what Brother Anthony think you will allow (today); when the time comes; Pastor Anthony won't even entertain the idea.

Finally, you may not have respect for authority, or the office but I do so please Bro. Anthony, without any further discussions allow me to respectfully defer any (opinion or rebuttle thereof) to the watchman over your soul! your teacher, your Pastor!

This is really for your own protection.

"I do not believe that Brother Day is that black and white. Here is what I believe the meaning is...

This again is your opinion. Thank you for sharing it.
Help me to understand...what makes MUSIC not Christian. I'm not talking about lyrics, I'm talking about the beat and the arrangement. Someone please point this out scripturally.
Pastor Day,

..."what makes MUSIC not Christian"...the more you two talk the more you make my point...you are dishonest. Only a dishonest person would deduce from the opposers of your position that they consider music to be un Christian.

No one ever said that music (itself) was unchristian.

Pastor Hodge
My Brother,

Let me say, for the record, I agree with you that we should not allow secular lyrics to be used in the sanctuary. I think that is a given. I also agree that, for the sake of the weaker brother, that we should avoid the use of samplings of songs that have been used in deliberately anti-God and anti-Christ fashion.

However, you actually have made some indictments about music itself being unholy, ungodly, etc. Here is an abstract of what you've said thus far. Proverbs 6:2, Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

To form the very word "Music" we get the root word Muse...in the greek it means INSPIRATION other definitions define it as a spirit - the point is what makes you think that changing the words of the song without changing the spirit in which the words travel on changes the result of its initial intent?

NO! Hip Hop by its very nature is ungodly!

....Go figure God remembered to draw young people without using a satanic muse to do it???!!! wow

...its no wonder that by 1647 Brother Watts was inspired by the Muse of the Bars and Clubs instead of the Word of God; and of course (like you sai) people like yourself are following right in his foot steps!

No one is questioning the words of the songs that you support. What the Spirit of the Lord finds repugnant is the spirit that carries the words. Please understand; it really does not matter who is in the (black limousine) when it arrives at the front door...the Limousine draws the attention; its the limousine that delivers the package and when the limousine is dented, back window busted out, tires flat then observant people will be led to a conclusion

What I cannot understand is why must the Church steal the devils music to give praise to God? I don't know on what level that makes sense

Rap Music brings with it a spirit of Darkness, heaviness of sin, the stench of Death!

Hip Hop represents Evil; it is Evil! Holy Hip Hop is just Holy Evil! that is an Oxy Moran! No Man can serve two masters! why not just get a new beat?

As I unerstand the definition of Holy Hip Hop Music is the taking the Tune of an "UNHOLY" Hip Hop song and "Remixing" with new HOLY words...

In fact the Music is far more dangerouse than the lyrics...Over time words can be forgotten, Music on the other hand is a spirit, the spirit never dies...that is the nature of Music thats why itscalled Music from the greek meaning Muse meaning (Inspiration) from that word we get spirit -

" WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT LYRICS SIR" WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE MUSIC THAT IS USED TO CARRY THE LYRICS" IT IS UNGODLY, UNHOLY, IMORAL, SIK, SATAN ARRANGED AND DEMONICALLY INSPIRED

Great! I am gald we finally agree that the words of the song and the music of the song are two elements fused together to convey a unifed thought!

Now let's move on!

The Muse- Music, the inspiration of the theme, pupose and intent of the message. The vehicle in which one arrives offten depicts the nature in which one is perceived. Man judges things based on the "outer appearence" Since we are conveying a thought contrary to the world, we must consider the vehicle that we arrive in.

...it really is only the spirit of the music, its origin purpose and nature in God's house; The Bible has a problem with that consequently so do I.

The very purpose of this discussion, the basis for the objection is in fact the combining Hip Hop Music (secular) with Holy (Sacred) Lyrics...If you were CREATING Sacred music with Sacred wording there would be no point of an objection.

Furthermore, you have resorted to insult and condescension where there should have been brotherly love. I can disagree with you, passionately, in fact, without resorting to ad hominem attacks. Again I say, In the name of Jesus, I Love You and God Bless You!
Pastor Day,

Let me say, for the record, I agree with you that we should not allow secular lyrics to be used in the sanctuary..."

...that we should avoid the use of samplings of songs that have been used in deliberately anti-God and anti-Christ fashion..."

I say Praise the Lord! I am glad we could reason together and come to a Godly conclusion! This Pastor Day, really is the right conclusion.

In the Spirit of brotherly love and the bond of peace I too forgive you of all the things that you called me.

Now let's go win some souls to Christ!

Pastor Hodge
I'm sorry, Brother, please point out when and where I called you anything other that Pastor, Reverend, or Brother!

I'm glad we can finally agree on something! And I accept your forgiveness and your invitation to win souls!
The Bible says there is safety in the multitude of counselors. Whether Brother Anthony is a pastor or not is irrelevant. If God will use a donkey to speak to a man, how much more will he use an anointed disciple -- whether he's called to a five-fold office or not? If a pastor cannot receive counsel, that reduces him to a despot or dictator. Does that honor God?
Bro. Anthony would not be the one I go to for counseling.
I did bit offer it to you, this is a public forum. The help you need I cannot provide. however I can recommend someone near you. as I said before I used to work for EMU if you need a referral I can give one to you...
You are one funny dude...bro
Not as funny as you son no where near as funny as you
