“WHAT THE CHURCHES SAY ABOUT SABBATH”

Dear beloved friends some church leaders have told the truth about the 4th Commandment. Yet, today, few have ears to hear about the Sabbath. The following are some things that various church leaders have said. I do hope that you find them interesting and helpful.

American Congregationalists: No authority exists in the New Testament for substitution of the first day for the seventh "The current notion that Christ and His apostles authoritatively substituted the first day for the seventh, is absolutely without any authority in the New Testament." Dr. Lyman Abbott, in the Christian Union, June 26, 1890

Anglican: Nowhere commanded to keep the first day "And where are we told in the Scriptures that we are to keep the first day at all? We are commanded to keep the seventh; but we are nowhere commanded to keep the first day. The reason why we keep the first of the week holy instead of the seventh is for the same reason that we observe many other things, - not because the Bible, but because the church, has enjoined [commanded] it." Isaac Williams, Plain Sermons on the Catechism, Vol. 1, pp 334, 336

Chaplain,

Whether single or married, we are not to not kindle a fire for cooking on Shabbat. I never said you was playing with YAH, rather, I just made the heart condition clear in the face of the law.

Shalom
Your point is understood with clarity James.

Also, keep in mind, I am still in transition as you can see by the fact that I am still attending worship services on Sundays.

2Pt 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
May I warm my infants milk if my wife can not produce breast milk on sabbath??
you can answer your question with these words from the Lord

Mk 3:4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

will you hold your peace?

again lets read

Lk 6:3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him4: How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?
5: And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Is it evil or good to let a infant go hungry because it is the sabbath?

Feed the child!
Ozell,

the question is not to feed or not feed a child,

the question is do i give the infant cold milk or do i warm the milk with a warmer or on the stove-- is that a violation

now--my answer is warm the milk the best way you can whether that be with fire or by other means of heat,

but i guess some would say give the child cold milk, which is not righteous

i ask the question for those that are new to sabbath worship
peace
you knew the answer!

the infant is to be given warm milk.
a child is to be fed
a person is to go to the doctor if need be.

the answers should be given for those who are new to the sabbath, with the words of the Lord as the guide.

sorry for the confusion

.
what did the God of the bible tell you to do?

Ex 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

He said

Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

do you do these things?

Jesus said have a HOLY gathering on this day.

Lev 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings

Jesus had Isaiah write

.Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

can or will you do this?
The Lord God says to have your holy convocation on the seventh day Sabbath. that's supposd to be your main day of worship. Yes serve and honor the Lord every day but again the main day of the gathering of God's people is on the seventh day. Peace
why hasn't anyone commented on the FACT that all the Christian churches know and understand that the sabbath day of the Lord, is the day that man MUST keep holy to the Lord.

this is the 7th day of the week which God calls the sabbath and man call in our day saturday
Because they would have to admit error, and repent, and turn to the Lord. This is a stiffnecked people who will not hear the Words of the Lord. We must just tell them, and if they don't receive. That is their problem. We have done our jobs by telling the truth, and stopping the mouths of the false prophets.
From Hezekiah . . .We must just tell them, and if they don't receive. That is their problem. We have done our jobs by telling the truth, . . . .

I propose this question to all or anyone who wishes to respond. Given the statement Hezekiah made (referenced above), why do you insist on "shoving" your teachings down the throats of Christians who do hot adhere for whatever their reasons may be?

As Hezekiah clearly stated, "you've done your job." So, why is this topic still being re-posted? I'm merely asking out of curiosity because if I've seen this topic posted once, I've seen it posted 5 times or more on this site.

PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND WITH THE SAME OLD QUESTION . . ."ARE YOU KEEPING THE SABBATH?"

Shalom in Yeshua
