I have a son who was diagnosed as having "ADHD" and being the best possible parent that I can be was always challenging. Max is my first born child and every expectation a new mother has of her first-born child wasn’t exactly what I got with Max. Parenting Max exposed me to a wave of emotions which I wasn’t prepared to deal with. There have been times when I felt that I was all alone. There were times when I felt that I was spending more time defending Max’s behavior to people who did not understand our situation. The result of my energy was sometimes frustration, sadness, exhaustion, as well as joy!! As I set out to educate myself about ADHD, I made a promise that I would reach out and help other parents who might feel alone, frustrated, angry, and desperate to help their children succeed.
What I had to embrace is the fact that no matter how many people told me that I should just spank Max, or that he was just a spoiled, ungrateful child, I had to keep in mind that I wasn’t a failure as a mother and he was not a failure as a child. I cried out and prayed for direction in order to keep us on the right path as we grow and develop our strengths through the situations we are given. The result of my dedication is ADHD Coaching Classes for caregivers and educators; and a son who has grown to appreciate and embrace his spiritedness.

Hi my name is Katrina Williams and I believe my daugther may have ADHD. I can relate to everything you were experiencing with Max. My daughter's name is Trin. She has never been examine by a physician to see if she has ADHD.
Are you going to have her evaluated? How old is she? Having ADHD is not a bad thing once we figure out what to do with the energy.
No but my husband and I are going to take her next to her Dr. to have her evaluated. Trin is 5 years old.
Hi there. Just wanted to follow up on this to find out whether you've had a chance to have your daughter evaluated.
