Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

KAYN!!!
You asked about why is there so much confusion? I tell you why, because we seem to think that everything has to have a scripture attached to it in order to make it good. And that's not so. When the street light turns red you stop, it's not in the bible. When it rains you pull up and umbrella, that's not in the bible. When we are bored we get on the computer and watch TV, that's not in the bible. We do all of these things because they are apart of our everyday life. How we dress is apart of our everyday life. We don't need a scripture to see which way to do it, rather we need Godlly wisdom to dress in such a way that is becoming of a Christian. That goes for Men and Women. Confusion comes when we try to make a doctrine out of "life."
PTL! Servant you make a lot of good points which are valid but just as a man could fall into lust over a shape of a woman so couldn't woman over a man. I believe when you come into the house of the Lord you ask the Holy Spirit to clear your mind and heart to receive the Word of God. Yes everyone should have a level of understanding in taste but some don't. If that's the case then ALL who preach should wear robes. That way you can't put a focus on one or two parts of a person while you main objective should be receiving God's Word not lusting after their body. I still stand by my thoughts because as I said earlier. We cannot change people! That is God's job! We cannot control or prevent sexual immorality in another person. We have the power to change our thoughts and desires through Christ Jesus. We can't make Brother Watermelon stop having sexual thoughts about a female woman of God preaching on the pulpit. That has to be his cry out for help to Christ Jesus to renew his mind. And when you spoke about a dress code about Target look at the common uniform...they ALL have red shirts and tan pants. Not any other color, shape or design shirt and not any other color, shape or designed pant. One color One design! So again I say confusion because there seems to be only one gender that is under an attack and not the other. In the body of Christ the common number is 1 (one)! Not 2!
Yes you are so right on somethings you said above. But do remember, the dress code is not just for the "Saints" to behold on one another, but it's for the first impression of the people that walk in the church that don't know Yahweh. They are looking for change but often cannot readily see it in us because we are too busy trying to look like them. And I want you to know that I'm on record to tell you that I preach ON MY MEN TOO! I don't believe in MEN WEARING BOXERS (under their slacks, letting everything swing and hang low ) IN THE PULPIT SHOWING ALL OF THEIR GOODS TO THE WOMEN & MEN BELOW sitting with their legs wide open. I preach against that too! I don't believe in men wearing shorts and athletic clothes "in church" because it draws attention to their legs and crotch as well. We have a written dress code at my church that I go over once a year "only". It applies to everyone. I don't like to see my little teenage girls in skinny jeans, because it makes them look cheap to the boys in the church. I don't like to see my teenage boys wearing basket ball shorts everywhere showing their little peeweeter imprint, because it makes them look like predators. Dress code in the church applies to both genders and all ages. Look at other religions, they are so strong and united and most often it's because they have certain standards that cannot be shaken. But we the children of Yahweh we are tossed to and fro too much on too many standards. This topic should be easy for us all, and yet there is still so much debate and strife.
Our church moto is "SINNER BE SAVED, SAVED BE SANCTIFIED." What this means is that I want people to know that living for Christ doesn't end at just receiving him. You have to sanctify yourself. And dress codes are apart of that process as well. Santification means to be set apart. There are somethings, ways and habits that we must abadoned in order to be sanctifed. Changing the way you dress or dressing in a more moderate way is just one the few steps of becoming consecrated and set apart. I was saved at 11 and wore slacks and dress shoes everywhere I went afterwards. Nobody told me to do it. The Lord didn't tell me to do it either, I self inflicted that change on me because I wanted to be set apart. And ti worked. My peers recognized me as being saved at school without me ever opening a bible. I was a walking bible. In other words, my appeance, let them know that I was different. It showed them that I had a certain "self" respect about me. My pastor didn't tell me to do it, my mother didn't tell me to do it, and the Holy Ghost didn't tell me to do it, but because i did it, when my peers need prayer they came to me. When they need advice, they came to me. Why because I was sanctified. Not just inside, but outside too.
Why would you say "you don't need a scripture" when SCRIPTURE SPEAKS ABOUT IT>???????
I know all of the scriptures that talk about clothing in the bible (as I was raised in the holiness church), but they are not necessary to make my point because there are so many different interpretations of the Word of Yahweh. So often, it's best to give it to people straight so that they are more inclined to search the scriptures and find what I have found themselves.
holiness churches don't mean you have understanding of the scripture however, you might have understanding based on some things i notice....The problem people don't stress about what they wear is because people DON'T LOOK INTO SCRIPTURE....If your famous people will listen....

Shalom
Sorry, I just said "holiness" church because they are known as the christian sect that emphasizes seperation of gender in dress the most in America (other than foreign religions). Looking into the scriptures to learn about what the Lord thinks about clothing should only take place when one is a certain spirtual level. There is no sense in researching clothing and you don't know about healing or deliverance, or salvation, or being filled with the Holy Ghost. Lessons on dressing and wear clothes should only be touched by those simply seeking to draw nearer.
Well some of what you said is still somewhat "Christian"...Yah's laws in many cases does not depend on your knowing healing...that is part of the slave mindset that keeps people in bondage....The major problem is that no one is teaching about these things....It needs to be taught in conjunction with everything else...Unless you can explain it don't talk ...but we should know what the word says...

Shalom
I've noticed you have long hair. There are scriptures in the bible that don't support your hair style so should I throw the book at you? No. I should allow you to use Godly wisdom in how you present yourself to the world. I could say that you look very worldly and would have assumed that you were a reggae recording artist or something by your appearnce. But I didn't because I feel that you should use Godly wisdom to figure out that you appearance is not seperated from the world. The "law" says Be ye holy, for I the Lord thy God is Holy. I could consider your hair style unholy, but am I right. No.
Sister, there is confusion because people don't read scripture...pants/britches/trousers were MADE FOR MEN!!! and that is in scripture....Women did not start wearing pants until the whole sexual revolution movement...because WOMEN WANTED TO BE EQUAL WITH MEN.... So it was 1 or 2 on the list of things to change...(i'll check that to make sure i'm correct LOL)....

Your G-d may not be judging your clothing but because My El Yahweh mentioned it...IT IS IMPORTANT FOR HIS CHILDREN Yisrael...

Maybe if women stop giving to these megachurches expecting false hopes then they can have money to buy a dress or two...LOL
