Is The Trinity Biblical?
From the Christian Research Institute
www.equip.org
The Trinity is a basic doctrine of orthodox Christianity. Yet the word "Trinity" is not found anywhere in the Bible. Is the doctrine of the Trinity really biblical?
The doctrine of the Trinity says that there is one All Mighty One (God) who exists eternally as three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I can assure you that the elements of this doctrine are all taken directly from the Bible.
The first plank of the Trinitarian platform is that there is only one All Mighty One (God). The Bible could not be more explicit on this point, which it states explicitly about two dozen times. In Isaiah 44:8 Yahweh (The LORD) says that even He does not know of any other (mighty ones)gods!
Yahshua (Jesus) often spoke of the All Mighty One (God) as His Father, and the apostles frequently spoke of "the Almighty One (God) the Father." But the New Testament also insists that Yahshua (Jesus) is The Almighty One (God). For example, Thomas acknowledged Yahshua (Jesus) as, "My Lord(master) and my Almighty One (God)" (John 20:28), and both Peter and Paul spoke of Yahshua (Jesus) as "our All Mighty One (God) and Savior" (2 Pet. 1:1; Tit. 2:13). Yet the New Testament also makes the distinction between the Father and the Son as two very different persons. In fact they tell us that they love one another, speak to each other, and seek to glorify each other (e.g., John 17: 1-26).
The Old Testament refers often to the Holy Spirit as The Almighty One (God) at work in the world, without distinction from the Father. But Yahshua (Jesus) in John 14 to 16 explained that this Holy Spirit would be sent by the Father at the Messiah’s (Christ's) request. The Holy Spirit would teach and guide the disciples, not speaking on His own initiative, but speaking on the Messiah’s 9Christ's) behalf and glorifying The messiah (Christ). Thus, the Holy Spirit is revealed by The Messiah (Christ) to be a third person distinct from the Father and distinct from the Son.
In short, the doctrine of the Trinity is completely and totally biblical, and it is essential that all the Followers of the Messiah Yahshua (Christians) give assent to this doctrine.

Some have said the word Rapture is not in the bible either.
Nonbiblical terminology in and of itself does not mean that a doctrine described by it is necessarily false, but it does cast considerable doubt on the matter. This is especially
true when the nonbiblical terminology is not merely a replacement
for biblical terminology, but instead it teaches new concepts.
In short, nonbiblical terminology is dangerous if it leads to
nonbiblical ways of thinking and eventually to nonbiblical doctrines.
Trinitarianism certainly has this problem.and I will show you how in a moment in scripture.

Person and Persons

Speaking of God as a person does not do justice to Him. The word person connotes a human being with a human
personality - an individual with body, soul, and spirit.
Thus, we limit our conception of God if we describe Him as a person.
For this reason, this book has never said there is one person
in the Godhead or God is one person. The most we have said is
that Jesus Christ is one person, because Jesus was God manifested
in flesh as a human person.

Speaking of God as a plurality of persons further violates the biblical concept of God. Regardless of what persons meant in ancient church history, today the word definitely connotes
a plurality of individuals, personalities, minds, wills and bodies.
Even in ancient church history, we have shown that the vast majority
of believers saw it as a departure from biblical monotheism.

Three

The use of the number three in relation to God is also dangerous. If used to designate eternal distinctions in God, it leads to tritheism, which is a form of polytheism. If used
to designate the only manifestations or roles God has, it limits
God's activity in a way not done in Scripture. God has manifested
Himself in numerous ways, and we cannot even limit them to three.

The use of three goes against the clear emphasis
both testaments
place on associating the number one with God.

Tritheism

Despite the protests of trinitarians, their doctrine inevitably leads to a practical form of tritheism.
The Jews and Muslims realize this, for this is one reason they
have rejected traditional Christendom so vigorously. Throughout
history, many Christians have also recognized this problem. As
a result, some have rejected trinitarianism in favor of Oneness
belief.
Others have seen the errors of trinitarianism, but, in an attempt
to preserve the unity of God, have fallen into the greater error
of denying the deity of Jesus Christ (for example, the Unitarians
and the Jehovah's Witnesses). In short, trinitarianism emphasizes
threeness in God while the Bible emphasizes the oneness of God.

Mystery

Trinitarians universally describe their doctrine as a mystery.
however, the only mystery relative to the Godhead is the manifestation
of God in flesh, and even that has been revealed to those who
believe. A mystery in Scripture is a divine truth previously unknown
but now revealed to man.

Certainly our finite minds cannot understand all there is to know about God but we can understand the simple truth that there is one God. God may transcend human logic, but He never
contradicts true logic, nor is He illogical. He emphasizes His
oneness so strongly in the Bible that He has dispelled any possible
confusion or mystery on this issue.

The Bible never says that the Godhead is an unrevealed mystery or that the question of plurality in the Godhead is a mystery. Instead, it affirms in the strongest terms that God is
one. Why resort to an explanation that the Godhead is an
incomprehensible
mystery in order to protect a man-made doctrine with nonbiblical
terminology when the Scriptures plainly give us a simple, unambiguous
message that God is absolutely one? It is wrong to state that
the Godhead is a mystery when the Bible clearly states that God
has revealed the mystery to us.

The Deity of Jesus Christ

Trinitarianism affirms the deity of Christ. However, it detracts from the fulness of Christ's deity as described in the Bible. As a practical matter, trinitarianism denies that the
fulness of the Godhead is in Jesus because it denies that Jesus
is the Father and the Holy Spirit.
It does not exalt the name and the person of Jesus sufficiently
or give Him the full recognition that the Bible gives Him.

Contradictions

The basic problem is that trinitarianism is a nonbiblical doctrine that contradicts a number of biblical teachings and many specific verses of Scripture. Moreover, the doctrine contains
a number of internal contradictions. Of course, the most obvious
internal contradiction is how there can be three persons of God
in any meaningful sense and yet there be only one God.

Below I have compiled a number of other contradictions and problems associated with trinitarianism. This list is not exhaustive but it does give an idea of how much the doctrine deviates
from the Bible.

1. Did Jesus Christ have two fathers? The Father is the Father of the Son (I John 1:3), yet the child born of Mary was conceived by the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:18, 20; Luke
1:35). Which one is the true father? Some trinitarians say that
the Holy Ghost was merely the Father's agent in conception -
a process they compare to artificial insemination! [109]

2. How many Spirits are there? God the Father is a Spirit (John 4:24), the Lord Jesus is a Spirit (II Corinthians
3:17), and the Holy Spirit is a Spirit by definition. Yet there
is one Spirit (I Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:4).

3. If Father and Son are co-equal persons, why did Jesus pray to the Father? (Matthew 11:25). Can God pray to God?

4. Similarly, how can the Son not know as much as the Father? (Matthew 24:36; Mark 13:32).

5. Similarly, how can the Son not have any power except what the Father gives Him? (John 5:19, 30; 6:38).

6. Similarly, what about other verses of Scripture indicating the inequality of the Son and the Father? (John 8:42; 14:28; I Corinthians 11:3).

7. Did "God the Son" die? The Bible says the Son died (Romans 5:10). If so, can God die? Can part of God die?

8. How can there be an eternal Son when the Bible speaks of the begotten Son, clearly indicating that the
Son had a beginning? (John 3:16; Hebrews 1:5-6).

9. If the Son is eternal and existed at creation, who was His mother at that time? We know the Son was made of a woman (Galatians 4:4).

10. Did "God the Son" surrender His omnipresence while on earth? If so, how could he still be God?

11. If the Son is eternal and immutable (unchangeable), how can the reign of the Son have an ending? (I Corinthians 15:24-28).

12. If in answer to questions 3 through 11 we say only the human Son of God was limited in knowledge, was limited in power, and died, then how can we speak of "God the Son"?
Are there two Sons?

13. Whom do we worship and to whom do we pray? Jesus said to worship the Father (John 4:21-24), yet Stephen prayed to Jesus (Acts 7:59-60).

14. Can there be more than three persons in the Godhead? Certainly the Old Testament does not teach three but emphasizes oneness. If the New Testament adds to the Old Testament message
and teaches three persons, then what is to prevent subsequent
revelations of additional persons? If we apply trinitarian logic
to interpret some verses of Scripture, we could teach a fourth
person (Isaiah 48:16; Colossians 1:3; 2:2; I Thessalonians
3:11; James 1:27). Likewise, we could interpret some verses of
Scripture to mean six more persons (Revelation 3:1; 5:6).

15. Are there three Spirits in a Christian's heart? Father, Jesus, and the Spirit all dwell within a Christian (John 14:17, 23; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 3:14-17). Yet there is one Spirit
(I Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:4).

16. There is only one throne in heaven (Revelation 4:2). Who sits upon it? We know Jesus does (Revelation 1:8,18, 4:8). Where do the Father and the Holy Spirit sit?

17. If Jesus is on the throne, how can He sit on the right hand of God? (Mark 16:19). Does He sit or stand on the right hand of God? (Acts 7:55). Or is He in the Father's bosom?
(John 1:18).

18. Is Jesus in the Godhead or is the Godhead in Jesus? Colossians 2:9 says the latter.

19. Given Matthew 28:19, why did the apostles consistently baptize both Jews and Gentiles using the name of Jesus, even to the extent of rebaptism? (Acts 2:38; 8:16; 10:48; 19:5; 22:16;
I Corinthians 1:13).

20. Who raised Jesus from the dead? Did the Father (Ephesians 1:20), or Jesus (John 2:19-21), or the Spirit? (Romans 8:11).

21. If Son and Holy Ghost are co-equal persons in the Godhead, why is blasphemy of the Holy Ghost unforgivable but blasphemy of the Son is not? (Luke 12:10).

22. If the Holy Ghost is a co-equal member of the trinity, why does the Bible always speak of Him being sent from the Father or from Jesus? (John 14:26; 15:26).

23. Does the Father know something that the Holy Spirit does not know? If so, how can they be co-equal? Only the Father knows the day and hour of the Second Coming of Christ (Mark
13:32).

24. Did the trinity make the Old and New covenants? We know the LORD (Jehovah) did (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 8:7-13). If Jehovah is a trinity then Father, Son, and Spirit all had to
die to make the new covenant effective (Hebrews 9:16-17).

25. If the Spirit proceeds from the Father, is the Spirit also a son of the Father? If not, why not?

26. If the Spirit proceeds from the Son, is the Spirit the grandson of the Father? If not, why not?

Evaluation of Trinitarianism

I believe that trinitarianism is not a biblical doctrine and that it contradicts the Bible in many ways. The Scriptures do not teach a trinity of persons. The doctrine of the trinity
uses terminology not used in Scripture. It teaches and emphasizes
plurality in the Godhead while the Bible emphasizes the oneness
of God. It detracts from the fulness of Jesus Christ's deity.
It contradicts many specific verses of Scripture. It is not logical.
No one can understand or explain it rationally, not even those
who advocate it. In short, trinitarianism is a doctrine that does
not belong to Christianity.

The Doctrine of the Trinity Contrasted with Oneness

In order to understand clearly how trinitarianism differs from the Bible's teaching on the Godhead, I have provided a contrasting table. The left side lists the essential teachings
of trinitarianism. The right side lists the teachings of Oneness
or Christian monotheism. I believe that the right side reflects
the Bible's teachings, and this is the system of belief I have
tried to present throughout the bible.

Table 11: Trinitarianism and Oneness Compared

Trinitarianism

Oneness

1 There are three persons in one God. That is, there are three essential distinctions in God's nature. God is the Holy Trinity. There is one God with no essential divisions in His nature. He is not a plurality of persons, but He does have a plurality of manifestations, roles, titles, attributes, or relationships to man. Furthermore, these are not limited to three,
2 Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost) are the three persons in the Godhead. They are distinct persons, and they are co-equal, co-eternal and of co-essence. However, God the Father is the head of the Trinity in some sense, and the Son
and Spirit proceed from Him in some sense.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost) are different designations for the one God. God is the Father. God is the Holy Spirit. The Son is God manifest in flesh. The term Son always refers to the Incarnation, and
never to deity apart from humanity.
3 Jesus Christ is the incarnation of God the Son. Jesus is not the Father or the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is the incarnation of the fulness of God. In His deity, Jesus is the Father and the Holy Spirit.
4 The Son is eternal. God the Son has existed from all eternity. The Son is eternally begotten by the Father. The Son is begotten, not eternal. The Son of God existed from all eternity only as a plan in the mind of God. The Son of God came into actual (substantial) existence at the Incarnation, at which time the Son was conceived (begotten) by the
Spirit of God.
5 The Word of John 1 (the Logos) is the second person in the Godhead, namely God the Son. The Word of John 1 (the Logos) is not a separate person, but is the thought, plan, activity, or expression of God. The Word was expressed in flesh as the Son of God.
6 Jesus is the human name given to God the Son as manifested in flesh. Jesus (meaning Jehovah-Savior) is the revealed name of God in the New Testament. Jesus is the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
7 Water baptism is correctly administered by saying "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." Water baptism is correctly administered by saying "in the name of Jesus." The name of Jesus is usually accompanied with the titles of Lord, Christ, or both.
8 We will see the Trinity or the Triune God in heaven. (Many trinitarians say we will see three bodies, which is outright tritheism. Others leave open the possibility that we will see only one Spirit being with one body. Most trinitarians do not
know what they believe about this, and some frankly admit they do not
know. [110])
We will see Jesus Christ in heaven. He is the One on the throne and the only God we will ever see.
9 The Godhead is a mystery. We must accept by faith the mystery of the Trinity despite its apparent contradictions. The Godhead is no mystery, especially to the church. We cannot understand everything there is to know about God, but the Bible clearly teaches that God is one in number and that Jesus Christ is the one God manifest in flesh.

What Does the Average Church Member Believe?

In viewing the contrasts between trinitarianism and Oneness, we may ask what does the average person who calls himself a Christian really believe? Of course, most Christian denominations
officially accept trinitarianism. However, most trinitarian scholars
carefully distance themselves from tritheism and many use terminology
that sounds almost like Oneness.

Many church members do not really understand the doctrine of trinitarianism and, as a practical matter, are closer to Oneness belief. Some questions which if answered in the affirmative
indicate a leaning towards Oneness or a functional acceptance
of it are:

* Do you usually pray directly to Jesus? When you pray to the Father, do you switch over into language indicating that actually you are thinking about Jesus (for example, using
"Lord," "in your name," or "Jesus")?
* Do you expect to see only one God in heaven, namely Jesus Christ?
* Is it correct to say that you seldom or never pray directly to the Holy Spirit as a separate person?
* Is the doctrine of the trinity confusing to you or a mystery to you?

Based on answers to these questions and others like them, we feel the majority of Bible believers instinctively think
in Oneness terms and not in trinitarian terms. Moreover, it appears
that when a person receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit he
instinctively thinks in terms of Oneness belief.

Most Catholics and Protestants do not have a well developed concept of the trinity, do not know in detail what trinitarianism
teaches, and cannot explain Bible passages in trinitarian terms.
Today, we find a strong emphasis on trinitarianism and extremely
tritheistic forms of trinitarianism primarily in some trinitarian
Pentecostal groups. The apparent reason for this is that they
have faced the Oneness issue, have consciously rejected Oneness,
and so have gone into radical trinitarianism.

A simple question will help the trinitarian church member clarify his own beliefs. The question is: "When we see God in heaven, what will we see?" If he answers that
we will see three persons with three bodies, then he is a strong,
radical trinitarian. His answer indicates a pagan tritheism, not
the strong monotheism of the Bible.
If he answers that we will see one God with one body, then he
is close to Oneness. Given this answer, it is easy to demonstrate
from Revelation that the One we will see is actually Jesus Christ,
for in Him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Conclusion

The Bible does not teach the doctrine of the trinity, and trinitarianism actually contradicts the Bible. It does not add any positive benefit to the Christian message. Without the
man-made doctrine of the trinity we can still affirm the deity
of Jesus, the humanity of Jesus, the virgin birth, the death,
burial, and resurrection of Christ, the atonement, justification
by faith, the sole authority of Scripture, and any other doctrine
that is essential to true Christianity. In fact, we enhance these
doctrines when we adhere strictly to the Bible message that Jesus
is the one God manifested in flesh. Adherence to Oneness does
not mean a denial that God came in flesh as the Son or a denial
that God fulfills the roles of Father and Holy Spirit. On the
other hand, the doctrine of the trinity does detract from the
important biblical themes of the oneness of God and the absolute
deity of Jesus Christ. Therefore, Christianity should stop using
trinitarian terminology and should go back to emphasis of the
basic Bible message. Most Bible believers do not think in strong
trinitarian terms, so a transition away from it would not be very
difficult, at least on an individual level.

On the other side, strict adherence to Oneness belief brings many blessings. It places emphasis where it should be - on the importance of biblical terminology, thought, and themes.
It establishes Christianity as the true heir of Judaism and as
a truly monotheistic belief. It reminds us that God our Father
and Creator loved us so much He robed Himself in flesh to come
as our Redeemer. It reminds us that we can receive this same Creator
and Redeemer in our hearts through His Own Spirit.

Oneness magnifies Jesus Christ, exalts His name, recognizes who He really is, and acknowledges His full deity. Exalting Jesus and His name in preaching and in worship brings
a mighty move of His power in blessings, deliverance, answered
prayer, miracles, healing, and salvation. Wonderful things happen
when someone preaches a message on the deity of Jesus, the name
of Jesus, and the oneness of God, but rarely does one get inspired
over a message on the trinity.

A strong belief in the oneness of God and the absolute deity of Jesus Christ is a crucial element in restoring the church to true biblical belief and apostolic power.

The Lord Bless you today.
The doctrine of the trinity is so absolutely fundamental to the followers of Christendom that it is just taken for granted. They do not even deem it necessary to explain it, prove it, or in any way substantiate whether or not such a thing actually exists or is even so much as mentioned in the entirety of the Holy Scriptures! Although lacking any Scriptural proof to validate such a theory, denying the trinity is nonetheless considered heresy of the highest magnitude.
The popular hymn goes:
"Holy Holy Holy, Lord God Al-mighty, God in three per-sons, Bless-ed trin-i-ty"
"God is a TRINITY" we have been told by the world’s leading theologians. That is, "God" is composed of THREE PERSONS. They are:
1. God the Father
2. The Holy Ghost [Spirit]
3. Christ Jesus the Son of God.
With just the above statement (which is accurate according to Christian teaching) we already have several unscriptural problems!
Learn something important and profound: Whenever someone tries to teach you a doctrine that is UNscriptural, he will always be forced to use words that are unscriptural.
When someone tries to present a falsehood as truth, of necessity, he has to use bad scholarship, contradictions, exaggerations, straw men analogies, etc.
· First of all, nowhere in the Scriptures is God referred to or called a "trinity."
· Second, the word "three" is never used in reference to Who or What God is.
· Third, God is never called or referred to as "a person."
· Fourth, the holy spirit is never called "God."
· Fifth, since Christ is the Son, He cannot also be the Father or be coequal with His Father. Christ plainly said:
"My Father is GREATER than I" (John 14:28).
The holy spirit is never called God, God is never referred to as a trinity or a person or consisting of three, and Christ is the Son of the Father, YET this mysterious doctrine is believed by millions. Why?
Let’s see if my thousand page Hastings Dictionary of the Bible can help us.
Page 1015: TRINITY--The Christian doctrine of God as existing in three Persons and one Substance IS NOT DEMONSTRABLE BY LOGIC or SCRIPTURAL PROOF..." (Emphasis mine).
What an admission. But (I surely don’t want to leave out the "but"), but, we are told that it is, "...a NECESSARY HYPOTHESIS, ABOVE REASON but not contrary to it" (Emphasis mine again). Yeah, right. That’s like saying square circles are "above reason but not contrary to it."
I feel the need to borrow a line from Steve Martin: "EXCUSSSE MEEE!" If there is not "logic or Scriptural proof" for this strange doctrine, why would anyone believe it? Seriously, this illogical, unscriptural reasoning overwhelms me. This spooky doctrine of the trinity is openly admitted to be non-scriptural and illogical, and yet... and YET, the "trinity" is the very cornerstone of all Christian Doctrine. Unbelievable. UNBELIEVABLE!
Did you notice the interjection of another UNscriptural word in this definition? "One substance." "Substance?" God is never referred to as "substance" in the Scriptures. Not "one substance" or any other "substance." Even the most casual reader of the Scriptures knows that God is not composed of some kind of substance. The Scriptures are plain:
"God is SPIRIT, and those who are worshipping Him must be worshiping in spirit and truth" (John 4:24)
Spirit has nothing to do with "substance." In the original Greek, God is called "spirit," not "a spirit."
The existence of a trinity is admittedly not demonstrable by logic or scriptural proof; however, it is called a "necessary hypothesis." Being the inquisitive person that I am, I would inquire as to just why is it a "necessary hypothesis"? Why hypothesize at all, seeing that the Scriptures give us plain, factual, actual information without having to theorize or hypothesize? Let’s get a definition of that word "hypothesis:"
Webster’s Dictionary,
hypothesis, A system or theory imagined or assumed to account for what is not understood. An unproved theory.
theory, a speculative plan... a formulation of underlying principles of certain observed phenomena which has been verified to some degree... a conjecture; guess.
Who can count the number of man’s theories that have been proven wrong? I will not base my salvation on a theologian’s hypothesis or theory. In the letters to Dr. Kennedy and John Hagee I call evolution a hypothesis rather than a theory because the basic principles which supposedly have been "verified to some degree" are continually being scientifically disproved daily. So evolution is at best a hypothesis, not a theory. Likewise, the doctrine of the trinity is at best a hypothesis, for it has not advanced with any Scriptural proofs which could elevate the trinity conjecture to even a theory.
Do you not think it strange that the most spiritual and fundamental doctrine of all Christianity does not even qualify for the status of theory let alone doctrinal truth? Amazing.
So the trinity is called a hypothesis--a human invention of speculations, conjectures, guesses, theories, imaginings, and assumptions of something that is not understood. Try taking that to the bank.

Amazingly, even though the doctrine of the trinity is conceded by theologians themselves to be a "hypothesis" that is "illogical," (to which we can now also add "paradoxical"), and let us not forget the most important of all, "non scriptural," one can nonetheless find himself ridiculed and ostracized for not paying homage to this Christian idol of the heart.
I will give just one example of what I mean. I went to the Internet and searched for "trinity doctrine." The first web site I selected from the first grouping was entitled: "Doctrine of the Trinity" By Dr. Ed DeVries, President of the School of Biblical & Theological Studies. His first paragraph makes the following statements:
"Since the word Trinity IS NOT FOUND ANYWHERE IN THE RECEIVED TEXT or in its offspring (the Authorized Version and other biblical translations derived from the received text), many argue that the doctrine of the Trinity is NOT A BIBLICAL ONE. However, when a person comes to understand the THEORY [yes dear readers, we are back to that word "theory" again] that is embodied in the terminology they can NOT HELP BUT FIND PROOF OF THE TRINITY THROUGHOUT THE BIBLE. The doctrine of the Trinity is believed by ALL Christian groups. Some groups profess to be Christian and DO NOT believe in the Trinity, however, NONE OF THESE GROUPS ARE TRULY CHRISTIAN..." (Emphasis mine--of course).
Did you get all that? Notice that in order to "find PROOF of the trinity THROUGHOUT the Bible," all one has to do is come to "understand the THEORY that is EMBODIED in the TERMINOLOGY."
What am I missing? Why does my brain not work like that? Am I an intellectual dunce? I’ll tell you the way my brain works. If I wanted to "find proof of the trinity throughout the Bible," I would not first try to come to "understand the theory that is embodied in the terminology." No, I’m sorry, but I would not do that.
Here is what I would do if I wanted to "find proof of the trinity throughout the Bible," I would... LOOK IN THE BIBLE!!! That’s what I would do. But, I have already done that, and the trinity ‘ain’t’ there! And that my friends is why we are told to we must "understand the THEORY that is EMBODIED in the TERMINOLOGY."
Please understand and believe me when I say that I am not poking fun directly at such teachers as this. I am not, but I am poking fun at their stupid, stupid teachings! God inspired the proverb that teaches us to:
"Answer a fool according to a fool," (Proverbs 26:5) and to "...expose those who contradict" (Titus 1:9, Concordant Literal New Testament).
Can anyone imagine our Lord saying something like this in Matt. 11:24,
"...for Thou hidest these things from the wise and intelligent and Thou dost reveal them to those who come to understand the theory that is embodied in the terminology."? No, I think not. Jesus said
"Thou dost reveal them to babes [Gk: minors]."
Does anyone really think that the average person would ever tolerate a bank statement that used terminology like the above? Would anyone in their right mind sign a contract using terminology like the above? Would anyone accept a doctor’s diagnosis using the kind of terminology above? But, as I have often said, "When it comes to religion, anything goes."
The above teacher says that one can come up with a term, then develop a theory based on the term [not on truth, not on law, not on the Scriptures, but based on the "term" you have come up with], and finally, when you come to understand the theory embodied in the term, you will then be able [the author doesn’t say whether it is first necessary to say ‘abracadabra’] TO FIND THE TRUTH OF THAT THEORY THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRETY OF THE BIBLE!? I say that this author raises intellectual foolishness to a level heretofore unknown in the annals of speculative theology.
Listen dear friends; if the "truth" of the trinity could be found not only "throughout the Bible," but  ANYWHERE in the Bible, it wouldn’t have to be called a hypothesis or a theory! It is far past time for such ridiculous teachings to be exposed for all to see.
Just a couple more quotes from the above article: "The CONCEPT [is that something like a "theory" or a "hypothesis," a "speculation" or a "conjecture," a "guess"?] of the Trinity is the very CONCEPT OF THE EXISTENCE OF GOD, and since God reveals himself to his children, it only makes sense [if this "makes sense" I would give a dollar and thirty-five cents to know what "doesn’t make sense" to this man] that ALL Christian churches would believe in and DEFEND [I reckon some could be persuaded to go to war over this unscriptural teaching] the DOCTRINE [‘doctrine?’ isn’t it amazing how quickly theologians can turn a "theory" and a "concept" into a "DOCTRINE" ?] of the Trinity."
When a man with a Doctor’s degree tries to tell me (well not specifically me, it’s just that I was unfortunate enough to bump into his web site) that the very "existence of God" is a "CONCEPT," maybe it is time to log out and disconnect. And to add insult to injury, this "very CONCEPT of the existence of God" is based on his "concept of the Trinity." Let me assure my readers and Dr. DeVries that: TWO "CONCEPTS" DO NOT MAKE A " TRUTH"!!
Two more:
"Since the word Trinity is used to represent God as a triune being, what is triune? Noah Webster defined the word triune to mean, ‘three in one.’ This means that God, a singular being, exists in a PLURAL manner... The Hebrew name for God used in all known manuscripts is ELOHIM... The word ELOHIM means three in one." (Capitals are author’s).
Did I miss something? Noah Webster defines the word "triune" to mean "three in one," and therefore we have PROOF THAT GOD IS A TRINITY? What kind of scholarship is that?
The Hebrew word Elohim [eloheem] is the plural form of Elowahh [eloah] which answers to "The Deity."
The Greek word generally used in the New Testament for God which answers to the Hebrew word Elohim is Theos which means PLACER (God), literally Disposer or Arbiter.
If anyone wants to look up the word Elohim in the hundreds of dictionaries and lexicons, and find just one that defines Elohim as the above theologian does, as "three in one," I WILL GIVE THAT PERSON HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!
That my friends is just the first few sentences of Dr. DeVries paper on the Trinity. And, "NO," I didn’t read his whole paper, just the first page.
I will, however, give you the first caption after his brilliant introduction: "The Trinity Illustrated in Nature"
If we can’t find the trinity in the Scriptures, perchance we can fine it in "nature."
Seriously, I hope my readers can see through such inane scholarship. Only religious people, theologians, and self-professed ministers of God can get away such total nonsense. No author could EVER get away with such childish and unscholarly presentations if he were writing on serious subjects such as medicine, aviation or physics. His contemporaries would laugh him to scorn. Well, now that I think about it, there might be two exceptions to that--those who write books on evolution, and those who write fiction. The above article on the Trinity is assuredly a religious work of fiction!
I could now go through all the Scriptures that support the doctrine of the trinity, however, there is a problem --THERE ARE NO SUCH SCRIPTURES!
So let’s do something else. Let’s look at a few Scriptures that Trinitarians claim add credence to their theory. I will take no more than a few pages to try and clarify the Scriptural teaching on who, what, and how many Gods there really are.
First of all we must dispense with I John 5:7 which reads in the King James Version
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
There is a problem with this verse. The words that I typed in bold print are not Scripture. They should NOT be in the Bible. There are many Bibles that do not contain these words. Here are a few:
The Concordant Literal New Testament: "...seeing that three there are that are testifying, the spirit, and the water, and the blood, and the three are for the one thing."
New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures: "For there are three witness bearers, the spirit and the water and the blood, and the three are in agreement."
A New Translation by James Moffatt: "The witnesses are three, the Spirit and the water and the blood, and the three of them are in accord."
The Emphatic Diaglott: "For there are three which testify; the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and the three are of one."
The Emphatic Diaglott has a footnote:
"This text concerning the heavenly witnesses [as found in some versions] is NOT contained in ANY Greek manuscript which was written earlier than the 15th century. It is not cited by ANY of the Greek ecclesiastical writers; nor by ANY of the early Latin fathers..."
The Holy Bible--New Catholic Version: "For there are three that bear witness [in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth]: the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and these three are one."
The brackets are supplied by the translators. This version also has a footnote:
"According to the evidence of many manuscripts, and the majority of commentators, these verses should read: ‘For there are three that bear witness: the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and these three are one.’ The Holy See reserves to itself the right to pass finally on the origin of the present reading."
The New Testament from 26 Translations: Footnote, page 1183:
"The words between ‘bear record’ (verse 7) and ‘the spirit’ (verse 8) are now recognized as not adequately supported by original manuscripts."
As those words were hand written in a copy of a manuscript as late as the 15th century and do not appear in ANY Greek manuscript, they have no place in the inspired Word of God. I know of only one other verse that is not supported by original manuscripts, and that is Acts 28, verse 30. This added verse in Acts 28 is not, however, as harmful as the added verse in I John 5:7.
"I and the Father, We are ONE" (John 10:30).
Let me be perfectly clear, logical, and Scriptural on this matter:
One plus one plus one DOES NOT equal one!
One God plus one God plus one God DOES NOT equal one God!
One third of a God plus one third of a God plus one third of a God DOES NOT equal one whole God!
The Holy Spirit of God cannot also be that same God! ANYTHING that is either "from" or "of" something ELSE cannot also "BE" that something else no matter what or who it is!
A "Father" and a "Son" CANNOT ALSO BE THE SAME PERSON!
Countless things can be said to "be ONE" in numerous forms of close relationship. In this close relationship of purpose, will, harmony, etc., our Lord said:
"I and the Father, We are ONE [Gk: 'one or first:--a (certain), + AGREE, first, one, X other, Heb: 'UNITED, i.e. one, or (as an ordinal) first, ("UNIFY")']" (John 10:30).
Will all my readers please note that Jesus DID NOT say "I and the Father, We are one GOD," did He? No, He did not!
Do the Scriptures, however, tell us that there is only ONE GOD? Yes, they do.
Do the Scriptures, tell us WHO that ONE God is? Yes, they do.
Do the Scriptures tell us what the relationship of Jesus Christ is with that ONE God? Yes, they do.
In fact, all of these things are answered in ONE Scripture.
I will now give you the ONLY Scripture you will EVER need for understanding Who Jesus Christ and God the Father are and how many Gods there are, and Who composes that ONE God. Here it is:
"For even IF so be that there are those being termed [called] gods ['I (God) have said, Ye (all of you) are gods; and all of you are children of the most High (God).' (Psalm 82:6)],
whether in heaven or on earth, (even as there are many gods ['Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law (in Psalm 82:6), I said, Ye (all of you) are gods? If He (God) called them gods, unto whom the Word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken (contradicted).' (John 10:34-35)],
and many lords ['O generation, see ye (all of you) the Word of the LORD. Have I (the Lord God) been a wilderness unto Israel? (Have I {the Lord God} been) a land of darkness? wherefore say My (the LORD God's) people, We are lords; we will come no more unto Thee (God)? ' (Jeremiah 2:31)],)
nevertheless for US ['CHOSEN IN CHRIST' (Eph. 1:4)]
there is ONE God [AND HE IS...], the FATHER, out of [the Father God] Whom ALL IS, and we for Him [the Father God],
and [THERE IS] ONE LORD [AND HE IS...], JESUS CHRIST, through [the Lord Jesus Christ] Whom all is, and we through Him [the Lord Jesus Christ].
Howbeit [However] there is not in every man that knowledge [What knowledge? The knowledge that their is only ONE GOD the Father and ONE LORD Jesus Christ. Because the Father has revealed it to ONLY the babes in Christ Matthew 11:25]:
for some with conscience [Gk: 'co-perception, i.e. moral consciousness:--conscience, to see completely, to understand or become aware, and to be conscious or informed of:--consider, know, be privy, be ware of']
of the idol unto this hour eat it [eat food with consciousness of the idol]
as a thing offered unto an idol ['For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel (That's Jews and Gentiles, that covers just about EVERY ONE WHO HAS AND WILL EVER LIVE), which separateth himself from Me (God), and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumbling block of his iniquity (LAWLESSNESS, FREE-WILL) before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning Me; I the LORD will answer him by Myself.' (Ezekiel 14:7)];
and their conscience being WEAK is DEFILED." (1st Corinthians 8:5-7).
"For even if so be that there are those being termed gods, whether in heaven or on earth, even as there are many gods and many lords, nevertheless for US there is ONE God, the FATHER, out of Whom ALL IS, and we for Him, and ONE LORD, JESUS CHRIST, through Whom all is, and we through Him" (1 Cor. 8:5-6).
Did you see the first statement in the last verse
"But NOT IN ALL is there this knowledge" (Ver. 7)
I can say "Amen" to that. Practically "not in all" Christendom is there this knowledge.
If you have not yet THANKED GOD for making these things so clear, so meaningful, and so simple, DO IT NOW!
The above verse really doesn’t need commentary, but I want to comment anyway.
How many Gods are there? Answer: "ONE God."
Of Whom is this ONE God composed? Answer: "the FATHER." NOT, the Father, AND the Son, AND the holy ghost! Just, "the Father!" ONLY, "the Father!!" "ONE God, the FATHER!"
Is this too hard for anyone? Is not God’s definition far easier and better than the theologians’ "one, plus ONE, plus ONE, equals ONE" nonsense?
Is Jesus Christ an equal part of this "ONE God?" NO, He is not. Let God’s Word tell us. We don’t need to speculate and theorize. Here is Who and What Jesus Christ is, He is the "one LORD." This is not hard. It is only hard for those who wrestle and twist Scripture to their own destruction.
"As also in all his [Paul's thirteen] epistles, speaking in them of THESE THINGS; IN WHICH ARE SOME THINGS HARD TO BE UNDERSTOOD, which they that are UNLEARNED and UNSTABLE wrest [wrestle with Paul's writings], as they do also [are unlearned and unstable wrestling with] the other scriptures [the rest of the Word of God, not just Paul's letters only], unto their own destruction. Ye [all of you that are mature, complete in character, full of age, the biblical Christian, the 'few chosen, God's elect] therefore, beloved, seeing ye [all of you] know these things before, beware lest ye [all of you] also, being led away with the error [being unlearned, unstable, wrestling with the Holy Scriptures because SOME THINGS ARE HARD TO BE UNDERSTOOD] of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ [Because if you go directly to Him Who is the Word of God He will teach you. So STOP TWISTING AND WRESTLING WITH THE SCRIPTURES WHEN JESUS WILL, 'THEN opened He (Jesus) their understanding, that they might understand THE SCRIPTURE' (Luke 24:45)]. To Him be glory both now and for ever [for the eons]. Amen." (2nd Peter 3:16-17).

I want to show you this verse from another translations so you can see how serious it is when you talk to a babe in Christ versus those who are eating strong meat.
"He [Paul] says the SAME THING IN ALL HIS LETTERS when he writes about these things. And in his letters THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT ARE HARD TO UNDERSTAND, AND PEOPLE WHO AREN'T EDUCATED AND FIRM IN THEIR FAITH TWIST THESE THINGS [THE THINGS PAUL SPEAKS ABOUT] TO MAKE THEM SAY SOMETHING ELSE, JUST AS THEY DO WITH THE REST OF THE BIBLE. And by doing this, THEY ARE DESTROYING THEMSELVES. But you, my dear friends, ALREADY KNOW ALL THIS. AND SO YOU MUST BE ON YOUR GUARD, SO THAT YOU WON'T BE LED AWAY WITH THE OTHERS BY THE WRONG IDEAS OF THESE LAWLESS [FREE-WILLED] MEN AND FALL AWAY FROM YOU OWN FIRM SOLID POSITION. Instead, you must keep on growing in Christian love [grace, charity], and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The glory and honor belong to Him both now and forever [for the eons]. And that's the truth." (Everyday American English Translation 1984).
Again this is not hard. It is only hard for those who wrestle and twist Scripture to their own destruction.
This Scripture tells us that "ALL IS OUT OF" GOD (the FATHER).
And this Scripture tells us that "ALL IS THROUGH" Jesus Christ.
God the Father is the first cause of all and ALL IS OUT GOD, even Jesus Christ is "OUT of God."
"...I [Jesus] came OUT from God. I CAME OUT FROM the FATHER..." (John 16:27-28).
Now if Jesus came out from the trinity, why doesn’t the Scripture say so? He didn’t come out of the trinity and He didn’t come out of the holy spirit, but HE DID COME, "...OUT FROM THE FATHER!"
And after Jesus Christ came OUT from the Father, ALL ELSE came THROUGH Jesus Christ:
"[Jesus Christ] Who IS the Image of the invisible God, Firstborn of every creature, for in Him is ALL CREATED, that in the heavens and that on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or sovereignties, or authorities, all is created THROUGH Him and FOR Him, and He is BEFORE all, and all has its cohesion in Him" (Col. 1: 14-17).
Nowhere do we read that God came out from Christ! No, Christ came OUT FROM THE FATHER and all else was created THROUGH Jesus Christ. There is no trinity here!
Jesus Christ is not the SUPREME DEITY. Christ is not the originator of all. Christ is "the Lord." He is the Son of God. He is the IMAGE of the invisible God. He is the Mediator,
"For there is ONE God, and ONE Mediator OF God and mankind, a MAN Christ Jesus..." (1 Tim. 2:5).
As I said before, one cannot be both "of" something or someone and at the same time "be" that something or someone. There is certainly no trilateral, triune, trinity of God here!
Jesus Christ said,
"...I am going to the Father, for the Father is GREATER than I" (John 14:28).
Where do we read that Christ is GREATER than the Father? There is no trinity in this verse!
And again:
"Now, whenever ALL may be subjected to Him [Christ], then the Son Himself [Jesus Christ] also SHALL BE SUBJECTED TO HIM [God the Father] Who subjects all to Him [Christ], that GOD may be All in all." (1st Corinthians 15:28).
Where do we read that someday God the Father will be SUBJECT to Christ? There is no trinity in these Biblical truths.
And again:
"Now I want you to be aware that the Head of every man is Christ, yet the head of the woman is the man, yet the Head of Christ IS GOD" (1 Cor. 11:3).
Where do we read in Scripture that Christ is the Head of God?
There is another profound statement in the Scriptures that PROVES CONCLUSIVELY that Jesus Christ is not part of a trinity, but is now and always will be, under the Headship of His Father. Here it is:
"...that the GOD OF OUR LORD Jesus Christ, the FATHER..." (Eph. 1:17).
There it is--Jesus Christ HAS A "GOD!" Paul wrote this and all of the above Scriptures AFTER Jesus Christ was resurrected and restored to His previous GLORIES in God. And in His glorified state, Jesus Christ is STILL subjected to HIS GOD! Who wants to be the first blasphemer to even suggest that God the Father "has a God?"!!! But Jesus Christ, DOES have a God! Notice the following:
Eph. 1:3: "Blessed be the God and Father OF our Lord Jesus Christ"
Col. 1:3: "We are thanking the God and Father OF our Lord Jesus Christ"
1 Pet. 1:3: "Blessed be the God and Father OF our Lord Jesus Christ"
And remember these statements concerning Jesus Christ "having a God" were made long after His resurrection and restoration back to His former glories. Today, our Lord STILL HAS A GOD! And need I repeat the fact that the God and Father of Jesus Christ DOES NOT HAVE A GOD?! And someone out there still thinks God is a equilateral trinity?
There are many more Scriptures that show the distinction between God the Father’s office of supreme deity of the universe and that of His Son and Image, Jesus Christ the Lord and Mediator.

"But even unto this day [Even this day AND YEAR OF 2008],

when Moses [The Old Testament (Old Covenant {from Moses' writings til Pentacost in Acts 2:4} (v. 7)] is read,

THE VEIL ['And after the second VEIL, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all ... The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: Which WAS [past tense] a figure for the time ...' (Hebrews 9:3, 8-9); This veil KEEPS YOU FROM ENTERING THE HOLY OF HOLIES WHERE GOD IS AT]

is upon their heart. ['And REND (Gk: 'TEAR, RIP') YOUR HEART, AND NOT YOUR GARMENTS, and turn unto the LORD your God: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of the evil.' (Joel 2:13)]

Nevertheless when [not 'if' but WHEN] it [YOUR HEART] shall turn to the Lord [Jesus], THE VEIL [THE FLESH OF CHRIST] SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY ['This IS the (NEW) covenant that I (God) will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living Way, which he hath consecrated for us, (we enter into the HOLIEST BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS) THROUGH THE VEIL, that (VEIL) is to say, HIS (JESUS') FLESH.' (Hebrews 10:16-20)].

Now the Lord [Jesus] IS THAT SPIRIT: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, THERE IS LIBERTY ['Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If you continue in My (Jesus') Word (Jesus IS the Word of God), then are you My (Jesus') disciples indeed; and you shall know the Truth (Jesus IS the Truth), and the Truth (Jesus) shall make you free (that's LIBERTY).' (John 8:31-32)].

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord [Jesus], are changed into the same [SPIRITUAL] image ['To be conformed to the image of His (God's) Son (Jesus), that He (Jesus) might be the firstborn among many brethren (brothers and sisters).' (Romans 8:29)] from glory to glory, even as BY the Spirit of the Lord." (2nd Corinthians 3:15-18).

"And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that it may abide with you for ever [Gk: 'for the eons (ages)']; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it [the world] seeth IT [the spirit of truth] not, neither knoweth IT [the spirit of truth]: but ye [all of you disciples] know IT [the spirit of truth]; for He [Jesus Christ, the truth (John 14:6), RIGHT NOW] dwelleth WITH you, and [Jesus Christ, the SPIRIT OF TRUTH] shall be IN you [LATER AT PENTACOST AND AFTERWARDS. 'Wherefore (for this reason) henceforth (from this time forth, from now on) know we no man after (according to) the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, YET NOW HENCEFORTH (FROM THIS TIME FORTH) KNOW WE HIM (CHRIST) NO MORE (after the flesh).' (2 Cor. 5:16) & 'NOW the Lord (Jesus) IS THAT SPIRIT: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same (SPIRITUAL) image (because we know Him no more after the flesh) from glory to glory, even as BY THE SPIRIT of the Lord.' (2 Cor. 3:17-18)]. I [JESUS] will not leave you comfortless: I [JESUS in the form of the SPIRIT OF TRUTH] WILL COME TO YOU." (John 14:16-18).
bru go back to ur master---i am not even a chrisitan yeti can overthrow euro logic...
spirit word father creator ad inifinitum....makes the god head ...as god is omnipresent...god is all gods is god...
the chrisitian cant be wrong in so far as the trinty because if god is all he encompasses the three...
its that simple...
more over the failure to understand the nature of god universal power is to limit the power one possess personally---which is the design of all book bible law type reiligion..jesus taught men how to walk on water and raise the dead....follow gods word not a book not the jews not the romans law ---but gods law...and boom u have the power...
moreover god has used the plural expression of self since creation----
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
(note it says to replenish the earth...
ia that a bad translation---how can u replenish...whose writing this and to which god is it written---the fallacy and division in the churches derives directly from the study of too many books...and failure to study the nature of thing...
moreover the god in the above passage refers to himself as us our etc...
failure to actually have read the entire old testament multiple of times since u were a child places u at extreme disadvantage when faced with extreme and radical information...
trinty is by and of itself an aspect of God and good----but is not the total aspect of Deus or god...

I am now going to show you how to be smarter and more knowledgeable than most theologians in the world—(at least in this one little point). Okay; follow very closely, for we are going to get really, really technical for a few minutes:
First: Can God "destroy the body?" Well, yes, of course He can, Jesus just said that He "is ABLE." So God "IS able to destroy the body." Now, I believe Jesus. I think that most of you believe Jesus. But, do orthodox pastors and theologians, believe Jesus? Yes, from all that I know, they do believe Jesus on this point.
Next: Can God "destroy the soul?" Well, yes, of course He can, Jesus just said that He "is ABLE." So God "IS able to destroy the soul." Now, I believe Jesus. I think that (some of) you believe Jesus. But, do orthodox pastors and theologians, believe Jesus? No, of course not. How can a soul which they teach is immortal, ever be "destroyed?" Now let’s proceed to some more "technical stuff":
God created humanity in two stages, not three (Gen. 2:7):
[1] "And the Lord God formed man [Heb: ‘adam, a human being’] of the dust [Heb: ‘aphar, powdered gray, hence clay’] of the ground [Heb: ‘adamah, soil’]
[2] "and breathed into his nostrils the breath [Heb: ‘n’shahmah, puff, wind’] of life [Heb: ‘chay, alive, life, living’] and man became [Heb: ‘hayah, exist, be, become, come to pass’] a living [Heb: ‘chay, alive, life, living’] soul [Heb: ‘nephesh, a breathing creature, animal, vitality, mind, mortality’]."
Well, there you have it: God’s abbreviated version of how He created humanity.
Let me next draw your attention to something that few Christians have ever seen, even though it is right before their eyes in every Bible on earth. I said that God created man in two stages rather than three. I emphasize this because theology teaches that God made man in three stages. Here is their unscriptural version: First God formed the man of the ground, Second God breathed life into the man, and Third God put an immortal soul into the man. If you doubt that this is what they teach, ask your pastor.
However, did we read of these fabled three stages of man’s creation in the Scripture quoted above? No, no we didn’t. We read of two things in man’s creation at the hands of God. First God formed the man of the ground, Second God breathed life into the man, and Third God…? God what? There ain’t no Third. "man became a living soul" is part of stage Two. There is no third stage. God did not "put an immortal soul into the man." Where do we read of such unscriptural nonsense?
God didn’t need to do anything after He breathed into him the breathe of life. It was the breath of life from God that caused the man to become a living soul. God didn’t put a soul into Adam; Adam is a living soul. The spirit of man, which God gives to every human, is like a light switch—Switch it ‘on’ and the light glows: Switch it ‘off’ and the light is dark, gone, dead. Put the spirit in the man, and the man is a living soul: take the spirit out of the man, and the man is a dead soul. Do you think that even your children could understand this Scriptural Truth? Perhaps you should teach them, and then they could teach your pastor.
The "body" of the deceased is gone forever. In resurrection to immortality, God gives everyone a new spiritual body. God can bring back the person in any "body" He desires. When God puts your "spirit" (not you soul) but your spirit (which has no consciousness) back into another body (as in a resurrection with a new spiritual body), the same real person/soul will live again. God can do this, but man can’t, so fear God.

SATAN’S TRINITY OF MAN
Did you ever wonder why it is that so many Christians are almost violently opposed to our teaching that exposes the trinity theory? Just why is the trinity the bedrock of all Christian doctrines along with the immortal soul and judgment upon death theory? Because man desperately wants to believe that he too is a "trinity" composed of three separate entities of body, soul, and spirit in one being, and that he is really immortal even though his physical body will die. Virtually every pagan religion in the world believes man is immortal as the gods. It is too frightening for them to believe that when they die, they are really dead, and that they will remain dead until or unless God resurrects them back to life.
Did the ancient Egyptians believe in the trinity of man: body, soul, and spirit? Yes, of course they did. The soul of man, called Ba, was the consciousness of the man and dwelled inside the body. The spirit-like aspect of man was called Ka. The Ka was like an invisible spirit double of the man. Both the Ka and the Ba where present in every human at birth. The Ba (soul) was pictured as a bird with the head of a man. Every evening the Ba could leave the mummy body and return back to earth among the living and check on friends and relatives. This is how the dead could keep in contact with the living. This is in fact the same hocus-pocus that medians deceitfully use to deceive people into believing that one can communicate with their dead loved-ones.
There is more superstition and witchcraft in some Christian doctrines than any theologian would ever admit to. The souls of people do not go to a heaven or hell upon death. Such doctrines are straight out of the tombs of the Pagan Egyptians.
This trinity of man and immortality of the soul nonsense is Egyptian (SIN), not Scriptural (RIGHTEOUSNESS).

Let me post a similar argument of this trinity.

Reason answers:
David wrote,

“The fool has said in his heart, There is no God” (Psalm 53:1).

The single most important biblical truth is the identity of the true God! God does exist. His existence can be proven! (You may wish to read our booklet Does God Exist?) The first of the Ten Commandments requires people to worship the true God only. (You may also read our book Should You Obey THE TEN COMMANDMENTS?)

The ancient Greeks served 30,000 different gods. Some believe that the Hindus serve 5 million gods. Judaism teaches that God is one single Person. Many people believe God is a kind of “inner goodness” within everyone. Others believe He is a “metaphysical idea.” Most of the churches of traditional Christianity teach that God is a Trinity—that He is one God, but three Persons.

The God of the Bible said,

“Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” (Gen. 1:26).

When God said this, He was not talking to Himself. Nor was He confused. God is plainly more than one Person. The Hebrew word used here is elohim. It is a uni-plural word—in this case, one God, but meaning more than one Person. God and Christ represent two separate Beings, composing the Godhead. Together, they represent the “Us” and “Our” of this verse.

John 1 contains an absolutely amazing statement about the true nature and identity of God. It states,

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God...and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (vs. 1-2, 14).

The only way the Word could both be God and be “with” God is if there were two separate Beings. One Person or Being, the Word who became Jesus Christ, came to earth and “dwelt among men,” until His crucifixion as the Savior of mankind. The other Person or Being, the Father, remained in heaven and was the One to whom Jesus Christ prayed. He (the Father) was the One who resurrected Him from the dead so that He could return to His throne in heaven.

The Godhead now has two separate beings—Father and Son! If God were a Trinity—three Persons or Entities in one Being (with the Holy Spirit as the supposed third Person)—Christ’s death would have actually been impossible.
If Jesus Christ is the one and only Supreme Deity and Almighty God of the universe, when He died on the cross, WHO resurrected Him back to life?

Also consider, if the Father, the Holy Spirit of God, and Jesus Christ are One inseparable God, then if either of the three were to die, ALL WOULD DIE.
So if God is a trinity and "The TRINITY" itself DIED, then there would be no power to resurrect anyone and we would be without any God today, in fact, we would be without ourselves or anything else in the universe. There would be one big black void! Are you following me?
If "God" (your trinity), DIED, then "God" died--ALL OF GOD DIED, for you say "God" is a "trinity."  Maybe you would care to explain that to me?  Remember now, the trinity can NOT be divided up into three separate parts, for according to you it IS the three parts that make the whole God. Did only one-third of God die for the sin of the world? Give it your best shot.
God is not conjoined triplets where one-third of one Being can die—without affecting the other two-thirds of the single Being. This entire idea (often called a “mystery that cannot be understood”) denies God’s master purpose for mankind. If the Trinity doctrine were true, it would deny God’s plan, because mankind would have no Savior. It pictures Him as a mysterious, closed, triune God with no room for expansion in His Father/Son family relationship! (Take time to read my thorough and powerful book The TRINITY – Is God three-in-one?)

Christ’s Church understands and teaches the identity of the true God.
Reason

Reason answers: Why is this important to you?  Do they have proof of the trinity that you are unable to present yourself?  I have had people send me literally hundreds of scripture verses that contain the word "spirit" or "spirit of God" and then stated that all these hundreds of verses prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a trinity.  I have people sending me attachments containing hundreds of pages of material on a number of subjects that I cover, with the claim that if I would read this material then surely I would see that I am wrong in my beliefs.

I have never in my life witnessed a Biblical debate in which either side was the least bit interested in, or gave any real attention to what the opposing side said.
Here is an example of a typical debate: I give a Scripture verse to make a particular point concerning a subject. The person with an opposing view then cites ANOTHER DIFFERENT SCRIPTURE WHICH HE BELIEVES CONTRADICTS THE VERSE THAT I PRESENTED! As though the Scriptures contradict and the one with the most CONTRADICTING scriptures wins the debate! Unbelievable foolishness and stupidity!

For years I have asked some fairly simple and straight-forward questions regarding the trinity, to which no one has ever answered. No they just go to other things and other scriptures, but NEVER answer the contradiction to a trinity theory that I present.

I really don't have the time for this, but let me just present a few examples once more to prove the Scriptures point.

The trinity theory supposes that The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, together, as one unity, not as individual units, but together are ONE, constitute the ONE GOD.
Now then:

Why in the dozens of Scriptural discussions regarding the unity of Jesus with God His Father is the Holy Spirit of God NOT included?

If all three are EQUALLY CO-EQUAL, why does Jesus Christ HAVE A GOD, yet the Father is NEVER SAID TO HAVE a God?

Jesus said He didn't need to "rob" God to be equal with Him. Why? Because the Father freely GAVE Jesus all that He had and possessed.  Jesus had ALL power and ALL authority and ALL judgment in heaven and earth. Were these things the natural possessions of Jesus seeing that He is supposedly a third equal part of this trinity? No, my friend. God GAVE Jesus all these things -- they had an origin and the origin is GOD THE FATHER.

Jesus Christ will be SUBJECT to God His Father for all eternity (See I Cor. 15:24-28). Where are we told that the Father will be subject to Jesus Christ for all eternity? And, of course, the Holy Spirit is not even mentioned in this discussion in I Cor. 15.

If the trinity is true, how is it that Jesus Christ was CONCEIVED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, but is the SON OF GOD THE FATHER???

These are a few reasons why I don't believe in the trinity theory. I believe they are good, well-founded, sane, Scriptural reasons. Since NO ONE has ever proves these Scriptures wrong by other Scriptures, why would I want to debate someone who would avoid these questions like the plague and just go in a thousand other directions trying to prove the unprovable?

Send these question of mine regarding the trinity to your scholarly friends and let them give me a brief explanation of each without going into HUNDREDS of unrelated Scriptures regarding God's spirit.
Sincerely,

Reason

Hey, I just read your article that purports to "refute" the trinity. Lol! I saw no refutation. What I did see was a demonstration of an abysmal ignorance of Greek, and a rehash of the old polemic of the fourth century Arian cult, and modern day Jehovah's Witness's.
My friend, this stuff was refuted over 1500 years ago! You need to get with the program. I will briefly address some of your erroneous assertions.
You said that God is never referred to as "substance"? How on earth do you answer Hebrews 1:3 where it calls Christ the "upostuseos"(SUBSTANCE) of God?
Additionally, how do you address Philippians 2:5-7 where it calls Christ the "Morphe tou theou" (NATURE OF GOD)?
Furthermore, you said that Christ was not the originator of all? Lol! Man, don't you believe the Bible? Colossians 1:15-16 refers to Christ as the "firstborn" (PROTOTOKOS)=originator/source of ALL God's creation. John 1:1, Heb 1, and Col 1 tell us that Christ made ALL things. Don't insert the brackets and the word "other things" like the erroneous JW's try to do. That is not in the text.
Also, you said that Christ was "not the supreme deity"? How many deities are there? 1Cor 8:4 tells us that there is only ONE deity. It's true that there are things that are called gods, but that does not make them deity. There is only one deity (1Cor 8:4), and Christ is called that deity in John 1:1 "Kai Theos en ho logos"=God was the Word.
Your definition of THEOS was incorrect. I refer you to "Strong’s Concordance"# 3588 where it defines THEOS (qeovB) as DEITY. Corroborate this with Col 2:9 where St. Paul states: "In Christ dwelleth all the FULLNESS (pleroma) of the GODHEAD (THEOTETOS)=DEITY in somatikos (bodily) form. Christ was God incarnate. Theotetos in Greek means Deity. See "Thayer's Greek Lexican. "There is no way out of this.
Furthermore, you said that 1 Corinthians 7:6 states that "there is one God the Father". That's true it does. You were implying that Christ cannot be God because it speaks as the one God being the Father. That is nonsense. The same verse states (which you didn't quote), "and one Lord Jesus Christ". Does this mean that the Father is not the Lord because the Son is? Of course not. In fact YHWH means Lord in the Old Testament.
Finally, you said that Christ never claimed to be God? Wow! Don't you believe the bible man? In John 8:58, Jesus said: "Before Abraham sprang into existence, I AM" (EGOEIMI)=I AM God. Check it in Greek, from a reliable lexical source, not some English dictionary.
I would like it if you would post this letter on your site, with a response. Thanks.
[Reason Replies]
You suggest that Heb. 1:3 says that Jesus is the "substance" of God. I am not sure how you are using that word. Substance can mean both the "essence" of something or the "material" part of something. Jesus Christ had a physical body and could be seen, whereas God does not have a physical body (God is SPIRIT) and God cannot be seen as He is INVISIBLE. It is interesting to note that the KJV translates this word "[h]upo'stasis" into 'substance' but one time in Scripture and that is not in Heb. 1:3, but in Heb. 11:1, "Now faith IS the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen." Now that translation should receive some sort of prize for one the WORST possible translations in all Scripture.
Paul said we are to live by FAITH and not SIGHT [or perception]. What is "substance and evidence" but things that can be seen, weighed and perceived? And things that can be SEEN AND HANDLED (as in "substance") don't require faith in the first place. Faith is was is required when there IS NOT SUBSTANCE OR EVIDENCE! An infidel can believe in things he can see and handle!  Faith is the "assumption" or "confidence" or "assurance" ASIDE from any substance or evidence!
"Faith is the SUBTANCE [a setting under (support), essence, ASSURANCE, confidence, confident, person, assumption, substance] of things hoped for, [the SUBSTANCE we hope for IS] the EVIDENCE [PROOF, CONVICTION, EVIDENCE, REPROOF] of things not seen [to look at, behold, beware, lie, look (on, to), perceive, regard, see, sight, take heed]." (Hebrews 11:1).
"For we walk by faith ['the SUBTANCE (a setting under {support}, essence, ASSURANCE, confidence, confident, person, substance) of things hoped for'], not by sight [view, i.e. form, appearance, fashion, shape, sight; 'EVIDENCE (PROOF, CONVICTION, EVIDENCE, REPROOF) of things not seen']." (1st Corinthians 5:7).

Possibly the Greek "[h]upo'stasis" can be used to mean substance, however, not in any Scripture that I am aware of. And the same is true with Heb. 1:3. Jesus does not "consist" of the "substance" of God Who is invisible, but rather Jesus is the VISIBLE IMAGE of the INVISIBLE GOD. God does not bear this visible substance which can be seen, therefore He sent His Son in a VISIBLE form that can be seen (and heard).

This same Greek word is found in other Scriptures, but it is NEVER translated "substance." Notice for example, II Cor. 9:4, and 11:17, Heb. 3:14. If the Father were to take to Himself a Form or a Substance then what we would see is CHRIST. Christ IS the express image, form, (or substance if you insist) of God His Father. However, the difference is that when Christ takes on all of the Father's form, image, character, etc., etc., we can see and hear and touch Him with our hands, but we still cannot see, hear or touch our Heavenly Father with our physical hands. Jesus said that when we SEE Him we SEE the Father even though the Father is INVISIBLE! Granted, this is a little higher than theology 101.

You state, "Man, don't you believe the Bible? Colossians 1:15-16 refers to Christ as the 'firstborn' (PROTOTOKOS)=originator/source of ALL God's creation." Do you really think I never read that Scripture or don't believe it?
But notice how you answer this question in your own statement:  "Christ...the source of all GOD's creation."  There it is "God's" creation. There is always that ONE before and above Christ--God, His Father and His God!  It took REAL POWER to create the universe didn't it? Where do you suppose Christ got that power? Man, don't you believe the Bible? (Just kidding).
Now seriously, Mat. 28:18, "ALL POWER is GIVEN unto Me in heaven and in earth." There it is again, my friend. The FATHER is always in charge. And again, I Cor. 15:27-28,
"For He [the Father] hath put all things under His [Christ's] feet. But when He [the Father] saith, all things are put under Him [Christ] it is MANIFEST THAT HE [GOD THE FATHER] IS EXCEPTED, which did put all things under Him."
And not verse 28:
"And when all things shall be subdued unto Him [Christ], then shall the Son ALSO HIMSELF BE SUBJECT unto HIM [HIS GOD AND FATHER] that PUT all things under Him, that God may be all in all."
No trinity here, my friend. In fact the Holy Spirit is not even mentioned in these most bold declaration of God through Paul.
Rather than say "Christ is not the supreme deity" let me restate it so that you can hopefully and clearly see the concept that I am presenting. Paul tells us that God is a "family" in Ephesians. Jesus Christ is not the HEAD of that family of God, but rather the FATHER is the head and just as I quoted to you from the Scriptures in I Cor. 15, Jesus Christ will always be SUBJECT TO THE FATHER and not the other way around. Cannot you agree with that statement in Verse 28, "...then shall the SON also Himself be SUBJECT unto HIM [THE FATHER]...?  And let me just say that that word for subject in this verse is the same word used in Luke 10:20, "Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits ARE SUBJECT unto you..." Since the spirits are "subject" to the apostles, how could we ever contend that they are EQUAL as in a "trinity?"

As far as Christ going around claiming He was God, He did not, however, I will concede that He did say before Abraham was "I AM."  Even when Pilate asked directly whether or not He was the Son of God, Christ refused to answer Pilate directly. If you noticed I made the statement at least twice in my paper, "Jesus IS GOD" "Christ is God."

Gotta run. Till next time. . .

Reason

REASON,

WOW.  God bless you Reason!  I could never write to you the joy I feel at learning these deep truths of scripture (and believing them!!).

I do NOT accept the trinity theory either and I agree that it is unscriptural heresy, however I was curious about one of the points you made in your article and I seek clarification on something.

In the start of the article you made some points, at point 5 you said
Five, since Christ is the Son, He cannot also be the Father or be coequal with His Father. Christ plainly said:
"My Father is GREATER than I" (John 14:28).
I'm honestly wondering if this could verse be scripturally understood as the Father being GREATER in his ROLE (which is certainly true in the scriptures) then the Son, not in actual PERSONAGE.

Wouldn't these scriptures back up this?

1 Ti 1:17 "Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, [be] honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen."

I'm wondering which one, is JESUS or the FATHER only wise?  Only one is according to this verse, so it would seem to suggest they are one and the same.

and:

1Cr 8:6 "But to us [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things [including the following things?], and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things [The same ALL things?], and we by him."
I pray God continues to bless your ministry!  It has surely blessed me!  PRAISE GOD.

In Christ,
Brett
[Reason Replies]
Dear Brett:
I actually answer this in my paper on the trinity. Yet I get asked it continually. The reason is, I believe, that most are not willing to accept the answer I give FROM THE SCRIPTURES.

I am asked: "Is Jesus GOD or isn't He GOD?"

When I answer: "Yes, Jesus IS GOD," they are not satisfied with that answer they want to know: "Well then, as there is only ONE GOD, and if Jesus IS GOD, then Jesus must be THAT ONE GOD INCLUDING THE FATHER, and so by deduction, JESUS IS THE FATHER.

I'm not saying you, Bret, but there is no end to the times I get this posed to me. And yes, there are those religions that firmly believe that JESUS CHRIST IS GOD THE FATHER.

When the Pharisees accused Jesus of blaspheming because He said He was "The SON of God," Jesus reminded them that their own scriptures state that, "YE ARE GODS."
"I have said, YE ARE GODS; and all of you are CHILDREN OF THE MOST HIGH" (Psalm 82:6).
"For WE [Believers] ARE members of His [Jesus] body, of His flesh, and of His bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they TWO shall be ONE flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and THE CHURCH" (Eph. 5:31-32).

"That they ALL may be ONE [Who?--ALL. How many?--ONE] as you Father are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be ONE in US... And the glory which You gave to Me I have given them, that they may be ONE, EVEN AS WE ARE ONE" (John 17:21-22).
This IS the Scripture that Jesus quoted. They didn't accept what Jesus said, and people will not accept what I say.

I'll try once more:
"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be ONE FLESH" (Gen. 2:24).
How many people?--TWO.  How many flesh?--ONE.
There the Scriptural answer!
"...that they may be ONE, even as WE [Jesus AND His Father] ARE O-N-E"!!!
HOW many Persons? Jesus & Father--TWO. HOW many GODS?--O-N-E   G-O-D!!!

As a "husband and wife" ARE ONE, and "Jesus and His Church," ARE ONE, so also "Jesus and His Father," ARE ONE.

Good Post Kl!

So what is man made up of? One Mind Body Spirit! The Same it is with God. To say he has multiple personalities is like saying God Has a Mental Disorder! So as if he needs your help explaining the Trinity!

28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Ms Della Morton, I do believe that you are sadly mistaken, and really need to take the time to read the scripture, It is best that you do not argue over teaching you do not understand. The reality is simply: John 1:10-14, gives us the scriptural teaching of how the word became flesh, I do not know how you miss that. He became flesh, and dwelt among us.

In the baptism of Jesus: Matthew 3:17, there is vivid picture of Father speaking from Heaven, the Son being Baptized, and the descent of the Holy Spirit, that seems to be a clear image.

In Paul's famous benediction in 2nd Cor. he references the trinity, He suggest that
Father: the love of God
Son: Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
Holy Spirit: Communion of the Holy Spirit.
I do believe you see a trinity.

Peter refers to the trinity
1 Peter 1:2 "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you , and peace, be multiplied.. These text speak clearly of the triune God.

The Apostle Paul in his Letter to the Ephesians Church explains how the Believers are blessed in Christ, he observes how the trinity played a part in this work:
Father, chose us: Eph 1:4-6
Son, Redeems us Eph 1:7-12
Holy Spirit, Seals us Eph 1:13-14
The Trinity at work.

If Jesus is the Holy Ghost now in the church, as proclaimed by Apostolic Teaching, then that means he is no longer the Son of God, which is false Doctrine. This present teaching is a doctrine that was condemn by the early church, the former was Modalism, I did a paper on that, will post real soon.
Rev. Eric:Why can't Jesus be the Holy Ghost and the Son of God at the same Time?
Your doctrine makes no sense! You say: This is The Trinity!

Ok My questions are : If God is The Father(Spirit Jn.4:24) why can't that same God that is the Father be the Holy Spirit? Please show scripture stating they are separate?

Also who is The Real Father according to Matt.1:18? but yet you all say it's another person in the Trinity?
This simply is not True! Unless you understand them to be the same . If you say they are not then please explain Why they are Not?

Ok ,this is the doctrine of the trinity. Now let us examine closely what scriptures were given to support it one by one proving the doctrine is simply not biblical in the sense you can not take a scripture out of context by saying this is what the whole word says and ignoring other important scriptures! Anyone that teaches false doctrine will twist the scriptures to say what they want it to say to fit their Belief! The Bible will never contradict itself and will always flow it perfect harmony not leaving any scriptures out. To fully understand the context of the scripture one must read the entire chapter or at least several verses before and after the scripture to find us what it is completely saying. We must let the bible interpret itself for what it says.

Ok let's start: The first 3 given above in his article
the Father The son and The holy ghost are God. This is correct but no where in scripture can you find they are separate persons that make up one God! In human reasoning one may say 1+1+1=3 But wait the bible says there is one God! So there must be three that make up 1 God!

Do you see this Logic? This is Human Logic. I will prove this in a moment.

Ok let's see what one scripture standing alone he uses to state that the persons are distinctively separate?
(see Above) He states John 14:26

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Now looking at just this one verse with human reasoning one can conclude that they are 3 separate Persons.

Ok with this in mind you you remember how I said if you take one scripture out of context it with not harmonize in with the rest of the bible?
So we must read the entire chapter (above and below the scripture given) to see if this is really true through out the scriptures in the Word Of God.

Ok lets read all of chapter 14.
John 14

1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

8Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
Jesus is saying Have I not been so long with you Philip that you don't know the Father dwells in me! Your Looking at the Father when you see Jesus!
12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Jesus had a dual nature he was 100% God and 100% Man at the same time. Some Trinitarians deny he was a man,and say he was just God. Jesus at all points was tempted like us yet without Sin! He is like no other!
13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
He had to pray to give us an example for us what to do!
14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

15If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Some say it's another person but fail to read the rest of the scriptures to see what He is really saying taking it out of context.Let us continue to read!

17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

It says Jesus will come to you as the comforter! Not a separate person as some suppose!
19Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

20At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

25These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

29And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

30Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

31But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

Conclusion: to the Human Mind it can appear there is three.
But God is not a person. He is a spirit Jn 4:24 and no one hath seen God except through the person Jesus Christ! God is not divided in to a family of three (Gods, persons) making a huge supreme God in unity.
When trinitarians say the term persons and that they are separate in the God head it is simply not biblically sound! They deny this but when they use the term persons they have separate wills, personalities like God has a mental disorder and needs your help explaining a non biblical term!
