Should a pastor that spends most of his time preaching and teaching get paid for what God has him to do? I know what the scriptures says about this, but would you pastor for free?

The church has become a booming business and many, many, many Pastor are getting carry away within this business. The title Pastor has made many feel that they are beyound the touch of God and the members that are coming into the church. This is truly sad. Money has become the main purpose for many as they perform on the stage of communcation in the so called house of God. If God has truly called one to become a Minister, Pastor, Apostle or what ever one may called them self, then in faith this same God will see that he/she will truly be bless without taking money from the church. Do I thnk a Pastor should be paid? Sure I do but not to point where he/she is getting millions and the church is not outreaching into the community assisting lost souls in finding their way back home.
satan i rebuke u in the name of jesus. The blood is against you right now.
David , this is not the place for this behavior. You have come up against the woman and man of God and If you don't repent God will deal with you swiftly.
No, I see your still practicing your first amendment right~~~ so I will help correct you Mr Arrogant freeed pheeelps->> Mr "O" was sent by YHVH [ Nothing happens except that YHVH wills it]...Ba-rack [means Lighting] because this arrogant and warmongering nation is about to get its butt kicked...
We did not heed the Shofar from the Watchmen and even when YHVH sent in a Savior[ if you will allow ]
Dr. Ron Paul...Who would have given out income Tax back Stolen by the Banker regime running this country}However people voted a false propaganda of hope...obviously it was all a mind control sham~~

When People realize that we are the Hope to the next generation...then perhaps something will change..when we STOP teaching a generation War:

Sadly the Plebeians are the ones to feel the greatest pain...simply Mr Obama is a liar sold out to his banker buddies.

Have you read the Obama novel~~'The Rape of Amerika..?~~~Born into a Lie...get it soon...then get out of the USA before they shut the gates on you all...

Our pastor doesnt take one red cent, she works two jobs and still has time for home and hosptal vists. She will tell you right quick dont put her on a pedstal because she is made out of dust just like the rest of us.
Pastoring free reduces the value of what we do in the eyes of the people. The servent is worthy of his/her hire.
Mr. Crear writes:"Pastoring free reduces the value of what we do in the eyes of the people"
Say What?....By spending forty years honing your skills bringing in the bucks..if that is what it is about...Then someone needs to re-read their TaNaKh with a little more clarity. Torah teaching is handed from one generation to the next through competent Rabbis all adding value to their generation to the present and in my Historical studies..I never see that kind of intellect being used as you use (pastoring-free reduces_???); Young man, please go and find competent historical cultural and linguistic council before you continue the charade any further.
Unless a man comes to grips of dealing with his own inherent issues the Yetzer Harah (the evil inclination within) he will never become the Man of the second Adam...Self-nullification and becoming one with the divine principles are a must,... that is why a lifetime of Torah study grows deep roots of Chabad = Wisdom,....Knowledge and finally full Understanding of every facet of the Masters Torah Life within.

A servant is known by the heart of giving, from one to another, as the Master guides you with His resources...nothing more,... nothing less:
A true servant is known by the fact He Needs Nothing from you Only that you find the Vestibule of heaven within...and un-lock the purpose for which you were sent to do Tikkun Olam (to repair the world) for the Master's [YHVH] glorification.

Shalom Aleichem
A preacher or pastor should freely preach the Word! He is not to be brought under the power of money! I assure you many preachers will have to answer to God. The holy Ghost and being in the will of God should be their main purpose. I am totally against salary preachers! Because if you have someone that pays you to preach your under their POWER. WHETHER THEY KNOW IT OR NOT. A preacher cannot have total liberty to preach what God gives them. God is faithful to His Word and will provide ALL his necessary NEEDS. Tithing is biblical. God Will take care of His People!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT! God Bless!
I say yes! Most people will add value to what or where they spend their money! No money, no respect, sad to say, but that's the way it is.....

Let me first start by stating that the gospel is not for sale. The message that is ministered is a gift to be shared with the nation. 1 Timothy 5:17 states that the elders that rule well are to receive double honour..especially those that teach an preach. If you look up honour it comes from a Greek word time(Strongs 5092) which is associated with wage. You spend time doing a job, you are to be compensated for the task. You go to work in the work force, there is an expectation that after the determined period, you receive compensation. With that being said(because we have to start with the foundation first) the true heart of pastorship is out of service. It involves being instant in season and out of season. It should not be about money alone because if that is a pastor's focus then it is out of focus with God's purpose for ministry. I do think though that there needs to be a shift in paradeim in thinking concerning giving honour to the Pastor. When I provide double honour to the man of God and woman of God where I serve, it is out of obedience. Do they look for it as a must to serve--no but it is due them. For me, it amazes me how we will compensate and provide for everyone and everything besides God's people.
