Friends of the opposite sex

Could having friends of the opposite sex be a potential downfall for the marriage, especially if the person is only friends with one spouse?

I think that if the friend is an ex-boy or ex-girl friend than that's a no no. I think that we could have friends of the opposite sex as long as the spouse is aware of it. If your spouse have a problem with it I guess that grounds for ending the friendship. I know I have friends and associates of the opposite sex but we don't communicate much and we don't do things together alone. I think as long as you don't have another motive for seeing the friend it should be o.k. We do have to be careful and make sure we're not setting ourselves up.

I think if your a disciple of the word and are living by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord, than yes it is ok to have friends of the opposite sex.

I don't think so because we all don't agree on the same in every marriage, what can go on in one my not be able to go on in the other. Marriage have different level like everything else.Everybody looking at how/ what they think is best and sometime we don't always know what's best.If we are talking to them about problems.
