Min. Givens...the words you speak is written word, but you must see what the word say...David was, Moses had, Noah could...these things are PAST tense in the word. After they became used by God they were OBEDIENT and did NOT fall back into those things. Yes, God will use man and they become NEW CREATURES in Christ Jesus. When you allow the spirit of the Lord to flow freely, God will do exactly what He say He will do. You must be HOLY, because God is Holy. Just because our flesh desire to sin, the word instructs us to DIE DAILY...to repent...TURN AWAY from the sinful nature that we all have because of the disobedience of one man (Adam), but because of one man (Jesus) we have life...the life of Christ living inside of us for those that believe and have excepted him.

Yes, we all can be used by God, but when we allow our flesh to disobey the words of God then He spews us out....God cannot dwell amongst sin....so we LIE to ourselves when was say we love the Lord and do contrary to His word. There is no where in the word where God used a man who after coming to the revelation knowledge of God, God allowed that person to continue therein...in anything sinful and when they did, they had to deal with the punishment of God. The wages of sin is DEATH bottom line, we can make excuses all we want but Gods word will never change because we want it to because of our understanding...the word of God is for teaching and bringing about a change into ones life once we except Him. God does not make us do anything, we are suppose to be willing....like He was willing to lay His life down for us, He was our living example and He tells us in His word, if you love me you will keep my commandments, if you don't you are of your father the devil. Now you cannot get no plainer than that. We may want to think that God would change His mind, but His word is the same today and forever more, it will not change for us. He tells us to take His yoke for it is easy, but our flesh goes against that, because it is sinful, but when you obey God, He will change that...but if you half heartedly walk with God, He cannot and will not walk with you and if a pastor is disobedient to the word of God, God is not walking with that pastor, for He is Holy and you must be Holy...according to the word of God. Yes, the word of God say we all have sinned and fallen short, but because Christ came, died and rose we have the opportunity to live Holy again, if we obey.

And if you obey the word of God, you will live a spotless life. What do you think when the word of God say He will be coming back for a church without spot????? So, if you love the Lord you will keep His commandments and follow the instructions and guidance He has put forth in His word.

Man do not bring charge against man...God has already done that in His word. When I say what a pastor should not do some things, it is in the word. And I will repeat these scriptures, because they are not my words but Gods.

1 Cor 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Cor 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Lord, continue to work on me and forgive me for anything I do, have done and will do against your word in Jesus name I pray...Amen.

In Love Sis. Denise
I appreciate what you said. However, the operative word in my comment was continues....

The sin lifestyle, as you said is absent of walking in the Spirit, rather than walking in the flesh.

The church should hold up a standard to the world and see the world transformed to HIS image. Where the head goes, there goes the body.

Let's challenge our leaders to be more like HIM!
A minister of the gospel who continues in sin as a life style needs to seek God's forgiveness after repentance, then after a season should be able to return to their first works in ministry!

That is my opinion, since you asked the question. We fall down, but we get up! However, if we adopt sin as a way of life, then we should recuse ourselves until.......
I honestly believe a preacher should respect the body ofChrist which is their bodies.
I further believe that if you are annointed irrespective whether you drinks or not that you should be allowed to drink,as long as Christ live in you and you can convey that message.
Christ living in you does not give us the sinful habit to secretively live in sin. I think that person is just operating in his or her past glory. Because when God annoints man it is finally, excepts when that man is trading with God's Glory. Remember the story of Saul whose dad lost hi sheep and how samuel annointed him but he lost it because of disbodience. Therefore, God does not live in the lfe of a sinner but he calls them to repentance.
Hmmm, If a preacher drinks what kind of example is he to kids or people that look up to him? Is he leading his flock on the same destructive path that he is on, commiting adultery, drinking, smoking, what next lying, cursing.............
No, they should not be preaching nobody nothing.

HOLINESS does not include drinking nor smoking.
In short have you read the story of Willie Lynch. The mind set of people is very interesting and it is more interesting for you to ask the question "if a man drinks, smokes or commits adultery qualify to preach or continue to preach". Why didn't you ask if they possess Galatians 5:19 can they qualify to preach or continue to preach. You must be having a good laugh off of this. You just had a little time on your hands and I'm laughing with you. To you sir with all due respect, this is a good one.
I am actually glad you asked the question. There are many preacher here in the city I live in and they are doing it all with no shame. So it is a very good question to ask. I only been here a year and it is scary.
And THAT IS WORD my sister Carol!!!! This is no laughing matter nor trivial questions, because the church has become parallel to the world no one really knows the TRUTH. We can flip it, spin it or cover it...it ALL boils down to DISOBEDIENCE to the Word of God. The devil quote scripture, and he still is the devil. A preacher that drinks, commit adultry, and any of the above is still living a sinful life and God is not with that man. Which God is he/she really serving. There is NO sin in Christ and if He is truly living in a person there is NO sin according to the Word of God. Because God CLEANSES them from ALL unrighteousness. The Word say He is coming back for a SPOTLESS church....stop making God a liar, because He IS NOT! God keeps His promises and He will forgive, cleanse and make a new creation, so He does not do anything half way, but when a man/woman decide to give their life to the Lord FOR REAL and repent and turn away from unrighteousness THEY CAN AND WILL LIVE HOLY by His spirit which He promised to send to do just that. We cannot keep sinning if we love the Lord, bottom line and if we do we are liars when we say we have Him living on the inside, because He cannot dwell in sin.

And until we SUBMIT and REPENT and TURN from our wickedness and serve holiness like we serve sin, then we can live holy and be acceptable. You must first believe that you can live a sin free life...if Christ did it we can when we say He lives on the inside.

In Love Sister Denise
Amen, my sister.
look at the text again it said bishop not pastor and then look up bishop in the original text that is greek and you would see that bishop means overseer(look out over the pastor or leader) or one who watches out over other pastor's
