Recently there was a Women's Conference at my church, we invited an out-of-state minister to speak; he accepted the engagement. We made and paid for his travel arrangements for the conference, It was not until the hour of the engagement that we discovered that he would not be there. The next morning I discovered that he did not attend because he wanted $1,500.00 before stepping into the pulpit. My question is where did this come from that, "Preachers get paid to preach before preaching?"

Prophetess it's not a seasonal thing it's a God thing. Meaning seasons come and they go but God has raised soldiers He has strategically, carefully position everyone in their place to go forth. He have taken those that were behind the scenes and reposition to the front. They weren't behind the scenes for nothing God had them to be watchmen. There is a swifting in the atmosphere God is going to be doing some exposing revealing their hinder parts and He's starting at His House. The people today remind me of the Israelites, hard head, stiff neck rebellious group of people. My God, My God.
I know that I am a fresh wind preacher, Jeremiah 29:11 is the banner over my head. I know that God has a plan for my life and HIS plans are yea and amen. HIS plans are firmly planted within, that He may be glorified. I yield my life totally over to HIM. The Church is going through a pruning. God has been warning the preachers for a while but they have turned their ears away from obeying the truth and HE is bringing them to an open shame. After this latest awakening I pray that they open their eyes and turn from their wicked ways. We like to think that the wicked are the ones outside the church, but the spirit of the enemy has crept into the church. IT'S TIME FOR THE CHURCH TO TAKE HEED TO THE WORD OF THE LORD AND TURN BACK TO GOD.
You're absolutely right regarding the enemy creeping God's house they come sit among the brotheren, they praise like us.
Look at 2 Timothy 3:1-3 1) But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2) for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3). unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,
Here my question: "Where the Real Soldiers At?" Will You Please Stand Up?
I thank God for your continued insite and input, I thank God for His Word, because that is what's gonna keep us in these last and evil days. I opened this discussion up in this forum so that anyone can comment on this subject, but as you will see there are only three of us participating on this subject. Nevertheless, the Word of the Lord tells us in James 1:14 that, "every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed." I believe that many have been enticed with money and drawn the conclusion that they need large sums of money to appear to man that God has and is blessing them. But they don't need all of that. What happened to, "It's more blessed to give than to receive?" Are they in turn blessing the people with material blessings, because ANYBODY can speak a word. So to your question regarding real soldiers, I guess we are few in number.
Hey Man of God I like how you worded that, the better known performer and wow I would take it the theater is God's house of worship ( that is the four wall). God bless you keep it real.
Thank you sister.

Yes, just as it was 2,000 years ago, when men desired to prove their spiritually in the eyes of others, they turned to a performance based religion (worshiping the gifts, the offices of service, and how impressive they can be at shouting, prancing, dancing and other such signs of superior spiritual standing before the congregation.

God has always desired a personal relationship with His creation, from the time of the garden of Eden to the end of the book of Revelation. He has made it clear that He desires a true reconciliation between the fallen (cursed) man and Himself, and for this task there is but one acceptable mediator, the man Jesus Christ.

Today, we have a troupe of men who stand on a platform and declare that it is they who hold the keys to the kingdom of Heaven (the Bible), and that in order to come into the presence of God, all must come through them (according to their own personal doctrines and understanding) – for a price! We have pastors who will not allow anyone within the local congregation to minister within the local body of Christ, unless they pay a personal tribute (a bribe) to the pastor. I have sat in such churches.

The church, has become a collection of man created organizations and independent assemblies, and they are becoming more spiritually bankrupt every day – just as Jesus (Luke 18:8) and as Paul, Silas, and Timothy together agreed and prophesied (2 Thessalonians 2:3). The wolves are taking over and devouring the sheep. Even as noted on other posts in this thread, the true warriors of God must stand up, and they must give a rallying call to the committed brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ: To come out from the apostate church and return to the true worship of God in Spirit and in truth. To enter into a relationship with God through the bonds of love, faith and a commitment to truth, by the plan of reconciliation provide by the Christ (The Anointed One) of God.

The balance: Now, let us not forget that those who travel in the performance of their calling (office, ministry), are also deserving of their material support, and to have their living provided by the very gospel that they preach. This is right in the sight of God! Let us therefore give liberally to their ministries, according to the blessings of God in our own lives. Let us not starve the true ministers of the body, even as we reject the ravages of the wolf.
I understand that a workman is worthy of his hire but for one night should the workmans mortgage be paid?
Not likely!
Thank you, that's what I'm talking about!

It comes from "prosperity preachers" who are well known such as the television Evangelist, that you see on the tv everyday!! Many churches have opened the door for this kind of foolishness, and I pray that your Ministry has learned a lesson from this, because God is not in this stuff...Remember to always be aware of wolves in sheep clothing!!
Blessings
Yes, the message came through loud and clear. On the night of this event we (the church) began praying for the person, I thank God because He always has a ram in the bush, someone else was able to step up in his stead. However, it wasn't until the next day that we discovered he wanted this type of money. I started this discussion because I wanted to find out where this doctrine of financial strongarming came from. We always talk about the devil creeping into the church, I thank you for your answer because it reminds me know that we've got to "pray without ceasing." And most definitely, "pray for one another."
