Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

Just want to say that it is not the outward but the heart.God knows a man's heart and He doesn't care what clothes you wear as long as it is properly done by men and women.
I can't believe this subject has not been exhausted yet....The question all of you need to ask...IF Yah mention's something who da heck do we think we are to say what he cares about and what he does not?

Many place themselves as a G*d when they say that...he mentioned it and it should be followed...

Not wearing pants in the church building has nothing to do with pleasing the Lord. This whole thing I believe came not for the scriptures but man's own perception of God and what man think would be pleasing and displeasing to God. This issues has cause a lot of people to stay away with a bad taste in their mouth with the church body. We spend some much time honoring a building rather than honoring God. We care so much about the brick and mortar than focusing on the real house where the Holy Spirit resides. My sister there is nothing wrong with wearing pants anytime/anywhere. Christ has made you free. You are free to listen to Holy Spirit about what to wear or not to wear. Holy Spirit guides us in what we should or shouldn't do. The bible does say that to the pure, all things are pure. I grew up in the Holiness denomination and they equated to how you looked but it's not about that. Holiness is a lifestyle. Women can wear dresses all the way down to their toes and still be jacked up and unclean on the inside. These are the things we hide behind so God can't deal with the real issues of our lives. Thanks for posting this and I pray that you continue to walk in your freedom that Christ purchased for you.

The scripture says rend me your heart and not your garment. So I agree to a certain extent. We that know how to dress modestly we should . They that know the way. But tights in the choir and on the praise team come on.we compromise our standard to much. NO! we should not preach clothes because God could send in a prostitute in Hot Pants and we should receive them in love. And love them out of those hot pants and teach them in love how to dress.God is not please at all our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost. Its where his spirit lives. We are to present our bodies as living sacrices. WE will let the ignorant be igorant still. Thechurch is out of order anything goes, anything is done and accepted in the House of God. I don"t need amen I wnt to bmore like christ starting with my heart first, knowng how to lay aside every sinand every weight that would so easily beset me. Letting this mind be in me that was also in Christ Jesus. I just want to be more like Christ and not any individual. And I do know long skirts,go up just like short ones, but it does take more time to get it up. When you get your heart right there is a conviction that comes on you !when your clothes are not right.If you are really saved you can"t wear anything, but when your conscience has been seared with a hot iron. !YOU DON"T CARE! But when you get the enfilling of the holy ghost you can"t do it.You are mindful of your attire, bu now 50% of the women are trying to catch. Church is a . social club. So they don"t go to the night club they come to he church half dressed an get their date their. Th sin is not being committed outside the church but right at the church. Because no one wants to preach the truth. I had a young lady coming in with big saggy jeans for about a year I never address it, then Godspoke to me I tld her to let her beautiful hair down and put on a dress or skirt, she did she was absolutely beautiful another spirit hd taken over. But when she put on that skirt and blouse she wa gorgeous. And she acted just like a lady. we need an anointing that will bring transformation.
You are right on point my sister. With a topic like this, it is very, very hard to come with a connecting conclusion on whether or not you're right or you're wrong so to speak. I believe and I still believe that in order to make it into heaven for our final home is that your soul is saved through Christ Jesus. Granted we are living in a sinful world with sinful nature, but when you are in the grace of God, there is not a devil in hell to pull you out of His Hand, especially when you're in the will of the Lord. I have read different opinions concerning this topic, some I agree with and some I don't. But if your soul isn't right with our Heaven Father, then you have written your own final home. I still say, both for men and for women, that we dress in modesty. (if that's spelled right). Just you have mentioned concerning the two situations, you will need a seasoned Christians to direct the ones that doesn't know about the fellowship of the Lord. So I thank you for your insight and may God bless your ministry. We need to seek and save those which are lost, their lost souls.

Bless you sister for bringing this up. I have heard a sermon from the late Bishop G.E. Patterson concerning this topic and he made it very, very plain about women wearing pants in the church. It was mind blowing. Also I belong to an A.M.E Zion church where our women wear nice pants suit and they look good. I believe that God is looking into our souls from the inside instead of the outside because it He was looking on our outside, we will be in a world of trouble. The world itself dictates when and what we should do, but God has a better plan for us. Go to youtube and pull up the sermon by Bishop Patterson, you will be bless.
In this conversation we have made salvation , obedience, and liberty through Christ subject to an object, pants, or in a theological case of this conversation, creation. Are we allowing the creature to influence our relationship with the Creator? If what is worn highly determines our relationship with God, then we should examine ourselves.

Everything should be in moderation, however I realize nothing separates me from God's love and I refuse to be deterred in my worship based external perspectives. Holiness is firstly internal. Wolves can wear sheep's clothing! I realize it was through His love and grace that put clothes on Adam and Eve after they sinned (Genesis 3:21). So if we must look at clothing, look at it from the perspective of grace and let us be the worshipers He seeks, they that worship Him in spirit and truth, not just in pants, skirts and two-piece suits.
This article- rather question was very interesting to me because I don't believe that women should wear pants in the house of the Lord. Deuteronomy 22:5 - The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.
I take that scripture to mean just what it says. If that is the only thing that the woman has to wear- I believe that she should be allowed to freely worship and praise God regardless of the clothes however, it is the job of the Pastor- to teach the members of GOD's house according to the scriptures. Man will not do the changing but GOD will in His own time- That is what I believe- is that really important to me what clothing a person comes to church in? Not really, what is more important to me is that his/her heart is touch by GOD- and that person establishes a personal relationship with the only GOD that can save his/her soul- @ the end of the day that is the only thing that really matters.
