Salvation is it eternal regardless of the circumstances or not come on lets get everyone’s opinion

But what is your take on what would have happened if the prodigal son or anyone who had received salvation backslides by rejecting the Father, His Son, the Holy Ghost and totally turned away from the faith and DIED without having repented or had the opportunity to return to the fold. Would that person be heading for hell or heaven? This is a conversation that came up with a couple of my work colleague when we were in an after discussion on Luke 15:11-32 so I would be interested in having a discussion and receiving everyone's point of view.

So Anthony are you saying salvation is not necessary eternal because it is dependant on whether man choose to reject it or not

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!

Man has free choice throughout his life.. whether he has salvation or not. It started in the garden of eden, where Adam & Eve had a choice to remained saved, or to eat from the bad tree, and allow death to enter the world. They chose the latter. When a man receives salvation, his choice of giving up his inheritance is always there.
James are you saying if a man turn his back on salvation and died without repenting he will go to hell
Sister,

He sure will big sis. Let me show you.. Ezekiel 18:24,"But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die."
So James what would you then say to someone who say Jesus shed His blood to take away both past sin and future sin
Sister,

Great question. I would say that Yeshua only took away the sins of our past and present, and not the sins of the future. How can we be forgiven for what we have never done? If we are forgiven for all time, then when we sin(which we will do), there's no need to repent. Walking in obedience to Yah and Yeshua is a life long job, for which we must work at it everyday.. hopefully with joy.
Good answer......
Trevor maybe you could help answer the last question
But in that case if a person in the act of backsliding or rejecting the Father dies without repenting. Because Jesus died for past and present sin would that not mean his sin is forgiven him because it would be sin which is either present or past. i.e if he is in the act of sin it is present or committed it it is past.
Sister,

Sin is violation of the Torah. During the temple days, the High Priest would atone for the sins of the people, and his own sins every year. The sins they have done were forgiven in this atonement. Backslide returns are only valid if they are still alive, otherwise if they die in their backsliding stage... they have died in their sins.

By the knowledge of the law is sin empowered. We are no longer under the law. There is a sin unto death (eternal damnation) and a sin not unto death. If we break the law, Jesus is our propitiation. And the Bible says he offered the sacrifice once and for all. Our present in the past will be referred to as future; and the sacrifice of Jesus takes care of all that.

"My little children I write unto you that you will not sin, but when you sin there is an advocate"

Yes the sacrifice of Jesus takes care of all sins - "behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world (all generations - time periods put together).

It is when one rejects that Jesus is the christ after having believed that He is Christ that the one looses his/her salvation.

"How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation ....after having tasted .."

Shalom
