Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

That is why you don't wear short Skirts!! They are to be below your knees, this teaching is missing in the Church. There use to be old Church Mothers, who taught this to the younger women, but, they are missing from the church, or either these women today are just to hard-head, and stubborn and will do what hey want, Guess what? The bible said that it will be like that in the last days!I always try to teach in LOVE, God said to draw the people with love, and teach in Love, or you will not reach them.
I have a talk radio show on the internet coming up explaining why “Church Women” should not wear pants! Listen in, I will give scriptures and history. Tell all your friends to tune in to the show. November 6th 2010 @ 12:00 noon (PST)-West coast time. www.blogtalkradio.com/mkvisions.
Love you dear sister. Be blessed!!
that is true sister

OK!!!

Trevor T. Greene, an Apostle of JESUS Christ by the will of the FATHER, according to the faith first given to the saints, to the believers found within this posting on BPN:

Pants within the Church, head coverings, eating certain foods an the like are all cultural and personal, however, your personal freedom in Christ should not cause another to sin. I personally am a holiness lover. Since I am, I understand that Holiness is NOT a denomination, but it is prescribed by the Bible for ALL believers. I understand also that modest looks are needed. This may or may not include a dress, skirt or whatever.

It all depends on your culture. In America, we battle over such issues. If you go to a place where they never heard of JESUS before EVER (GASP, you mean they still exist??), and you finally introduce them to the FATHER and JESUS Christ, this is great for them! Now, consider this: they were walking around naked without shame before. Now that they have JESUS, do you require them to "get dressed"? Why should you? Clothing didn't save them, the blood of the Lamb of GOD did. Nakedness is something that brings shame and doubt, and the Apostle Paul said "whatsoever is not of faith is sin". I'm not saying "hey everyone lets strip at Church!", what I am saying is that due to such a limited mindset we are shamed by nakedness and it causes us to sin. Since they aren't, thats not their stronghold. Thats the equivalent of the early Jewish believers requiring the Gentile believers to get circumcised, not eat certain foods, ect.

Women, wear what you want, so long as it is not causing us brothers to blatantly fall. Men are going to lust anyway, because that an individual's issue. Just don't help them to sin. Sisters, do not make a woman feel shameful with your short skirts or YOUR LONG SKIRTS EITHER. You both cause each other to sin: one says "you just lustful", the other says "you're overly religious", and both speak against their sister like a bunch of FOOLS!

The truth of the matter is one may have more faith and strength in that area, so they may not feel convicted if their skirt hits just above their knees. One may feel that they are sinning if their skirt isn't longer than a wedding dress. Let them be judged by GOD alone, yet kept in check by their brother and sister in the faith.
UH OH... YOU DUN UP AND SAID SOMETHING HERE....

This is exactly my point.. I just couldn't word it like you did.

Most excellent response!!!

I had a sister tell me that she ONLY wore long skirts.. and she said that so proudly. I was thinking to myself, Man, I'd hate for you to be in trouble and have to run for your life or have to run to save the life of someone else. That would be the same as the fella who wears his pants hanging low off his butt... he can't run either. But one is "holy" and the other is "hip hop"... LOL

Anywho, I'm just not about bondage to anything that, as you shared from the word, is not of faith but of denomination and even to the point of delusion for some.

"They arent' holy because they aren't circumsed"
They aren't holy because they wear this or don't wear that"

Aren't we the righteousness of God thru faith?
Does our clothing really demonstrate our holiness?

Without holiness no man shall even see God.... for so many, holiness is their cultural perspective and generational ideology more than just a personal relationship with the Lord and following the leading of the Holy Spiirt on all that you do.

I wore a jean pant suit to a friends concert at church once and totally forget to ask him what denomination it was. Man, I sat on the front row (which was empty) and just worshipped and enjoyed myself. It wasn't until after that I realized where I was... OOPS!

Acts 24:16

16And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void to offence toward God, and toward men.

I won't intentially wear something somewhere to purposely offend my brethren.. in doing so, I also offend God because of the intent of my heart. I can worship in a place where women can or can't wear pants, where a tribe is naked all the time, or where they eat snakes and monkey brains. My worship has nothing to do with that. It a focus on God not man. My LOVE walk is with man and the Father.. but my worship is not with man. I must love my brother who I see because of the love of the Father in me, whom men cannot see.

Again, don't let someone else's mindset stop you from worshipping. Why fight with your pastor if he says don't wear pants. Either stay and don't wear pants and worship or leave and go where you can wear pants and guess what.. WORSHIP!!!

Are we worshippers or what?

I will disagree with a person who says certain foods or dress or whatever is what works for worship.. and they state it as an absolute. Why? because my worship is not theirs! My intimacy with the Father is not theirs. And if pants is a hindrance for them.. then they better not to it and I won't wear pants at their church as to offend them.. and I'll STILL be able to worship! LOL
LOL my brotha... women have fetishes too. Women look at men with big hands and big feet and their imaginations run wild.

Sistas be checkin out the brothas with those "tailored" suits on. I wont tell you the details of what women look at because that just wouldn't be right. But there are several things that a woman can "visualize" just by seeing a man in a suit.

I'm thinking EVERYBODY where robes and all will be okie dokie. LOL (I'm jokingly serious)

but then again...

I remember many a choir member wouldnt wear regular clothes under their robes because it would be too hot. And guess what... folk still sittin there wondering what the men and women have on underneath their robes. Show nothing but the neck up and then you make the brotha with a neck fetish to fall. What you don't see, the wicked imagination will show you anyway.

so, to try and control another person's fetish is virutally impossible. Again, what you don't see, your wicked imagination will show you anyway.

We need a heart transplant and mind renewal and all those other things will straighten up.
"I wont tell you the details of what women look at because that just wouldn't be right. But there are several things that a woman can "visualize" just by seeing a man in a suit."

She wont share?!?!? Ok now thats just unfair!!!
well I shared a little bit already... hands.. feet. But there are somethings about a mans suit....

ok that's all you get. I won't betray the sisterhood and share the convos that i have overheard when there was a "meeting in the ladies room" LOL

Sista I love you

The bible says let the weak and strong tarry together andfhe'll do the seperating. Meaning you do you and she do her and if God convicts you for wearing pants then you do whats right but if God doesn't convict her then stop judging her. The Biggest problem with CHURCH FOLKS they to busy looking at the next man faults instead of trying to get their own straight. For everyone of else and I don't care if your an Apostle, Bishop, ArchBishop, Cardinal, Pastor, Elder Minister, Evangelist, Mother or whoever we ALL struggles with something in our lives that we ALL need to be DELIVERED from
hOW IS IT ONLY CULTURAL WHEN IT IS PART OF YAH'S INSTRUCTIONS TO YISRAEL? IT SEEMS TO ME THAT WHEN YAH SPOKE IT HE WAS IN THE MIDST OF GIVING HIS LAWS ANS STATUES THAT YISRAEL ARE TO LIVE BY. for YOU TO SAY "WOMEN WEAR WHAT YOU WANT" ONLY ADDS TO THE PROBLEM ALREADY PERPETRATED BY MEN AND WOMEN IN THE SO-CALLED CHRISTIAN CHURCH....

JEZEBELS ARE ALL OVER YAH'S BLIND PEOPLE AND BABIES ARE BEING BORN BY PEOPLE WHO WERE "DRESSING" HOW THEY WANTED WITH THE ONLY MOTIVE TO BAG A "SPIRIT FILLED MAN". THIS IS WHY OUR PEOPLE STAY IN THE POSITIONS THEY ARE IN...AND MOST DON'T GET OUT BECAUSE JUST LIKE OUR FOREFATHERS BECAME SLAVES BECAUSE OF DISOBEDIENCE SO ALSO, THIS GENERATION DOES THE SAME THING..

OBEY YAH NOT MAN....I ENCOURAGE MY SISTERS TO THINK ABOUT WHAT IT REALLY MEANS TO BE SET APART (HOLY)....DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS TO BE SET APART? WITH DOCTRINES LIKE "WEAR OR DO WHAT YOU WANT" AND INCLUSION....i DOUBT IT.....

YOU STILL FALL FOR MORE OF THE GREAT DECEPTION....COME OUT OF HER...

SELAH
we get this from dueteromony 22:5 "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth to a man, neither shall the man put on a woman's garment. for all that do so this is an abomination to the lord"

the reason we don't tell men to cut their hair is because 1 corinthians 11:14 says that it is a shame for man to have long hair.
