Salvation is it eternal regardless of the circumstances or not come on lets get everyone’s opinion

But what is your take on what would have happened if the prodigal son or anyone who had received salvation backslides by rejecting the Father, His Son, the Holy Ghost and totally turned away from the faith and DIED without having repented or had the opportunity to return to the fold. Would that person be heading for hell or heaven? This is a conversation that came up with a couple of my work colleague when we were in an after discussion on Luke 15:11-32 so I would be interested in having a discussion and receiving everyone's point of view.

Great contribution. If only believers would allow Scripture to interpret itself, how amazing that would be. But you know, human factor has always been there, from day one, even in Paul's era. Nonetheless, we can't afford to keep quite over the spread of false doctrines. Although, we respect individual choices, and pray for them. Thanks for your doctrinal insight.

There are many people say that Jesus is their savior and many that will say Lord and then again it is He that said many will call me Lord, but knew me not. Actually to those that knew Him not He told those workers of iniquity to depart from Him as they knew Him not.

I would presume those would have said they were saved. It really does not matter what we say, but what He says about us.

ON MAY 31, 2011, I RESPONDED  "ABSOLUTELY"....PLEASE MAKE NOTE THAT THIS WAS MEANT TO READ "ABSOLUTELY NOT"

Salvation is not eternal regardless of the circumstance. Salvation is eternal based on the circumstance.

The question is this, "What can separate us from the love of God?"  If we allow the scriptures to answer that question, then we have our answer to whether eternal security is biblical or not. Paul addressees this in Romans chapter 8. He gives us a convincing proposition in verse one when he says " Therefore there isnow no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."  Once you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior it is impossible for anything to pluck you from this truth. The sealing of the Holy Spirit (Ephes. 1:13) is unbreakable. Who can break the seal of the Holy Spirit? Who can reverse the guarantee of our inheritance(Ephes. 1:14)? Paul answers that question at the end of Romans chapter 8.

Romans 8:38-39 (NASB)
38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Does the blood of Jesus wash away our future sins? According to Paul yes(nor things to come).                    Can you yourself separate yourself eternally from the love of God? No you cant(nor any other created thing).  You are created right? Creation does not have the power to reverse Gods purpose in the life of the believer.

So Preacher, you are correct. There's no such-thing as temporary Eternal life..

The circumstance is the gospel and a non-meritorious act of faith alone in Christ Jesus as the Savior. Then, salvation is eternal. Powerful contribution, thanks.
Yes, salvation is eternal. If it can be lost, then, it is no more eternal. Don't forget that God in His Word has given any member of the human race His promise to keep him for ever. Salvation depends on the INTEGRITY OF GOD. We may renounce our faith, but God is always faithful. Many do not understand positional salvation and experiential salvation. Our major distortion of Salvation is because we've failed to realize the difference between eternal salvation and eternal reward. The later depends on how we executed the christian way of life, while the later is our status (IN CHRIST). In eternity there will be inequality, nonetheless, we possess one thing in common ETERNAL LIFE (God's kind of Life). Sound doctrinal truth regarding eternal security is difficult to accept by the self righteous, and those christian who failed to comprehend the capacity of GOD'S GRACE.
can someone please tell what happened to ananias, and saphira, after lying to the holy ghost.. do you think that the Holy Ghost killed them, so that they could enter the Kingdom of Heaven??????
The greatest challenge facing the church is ignorance of christian doctrines. First, what was the sin of Ananias and his wife Sapphira? Answer: They lied to the Holy Spirit. Now, is their sin of lying worst than those being committed by believers today, and yet God did not kill them? Absolute No! In the eyes of God sin is sin, there is no big or small sin. Without delay let me tell you that those couples are believers who committed sin unto death. This physical death is a discipline visited to a believer by divine Sovereignty. He God chose who and when. It does not imply a lost of eternal salvation, unless salvation by definition is temporary. And depend on man to maintain, as some people ignorantly say, distortion the grace of God to their spiritual peril. So to Ananias and his wife, absent from the body is face to face with the Lord, period. Any other christian doctrine you are confused of please feel free to ask me. By the grace of God i will help to enlighten the humble one.
I am beginning to understand your theological perspective. I think i would not go ahead in discussion topics with you. Until i see a positive volition from you. Thank you.
