I know this should spark a good discussion. I open this conversation for an opportunity to review and share your perspective and views.

I'm a Dem. (by choice) and I have been watching the race closely as things become interesting. Question? Why is it that Hillary takes the African American vote for granite? Time after Time she sends Bill in to rally the ol' guard to get the support, but will not show up herself, why is that? Why has some of our Civil Rights leaders, who claim to have fought for the DREEAAAM!!! to reach this point when we could have a good candidate, who is African American to run in the race and they refuse to support him because they feel we are still entitled and owed Bill for his years in office. Bill is not Hillary. Hillary ain't no Bill. History is repeating itself. We pray for the opportunity, which is then granted, and we refuse to accept and go back and pray again.

People, this is the closest time we have been to seeing the Dream come to life and instead of celebrating, we sit back and ask the question "is this the one or is there another?" I'm a supporter, but I'm not suggesting who you should vote but that you need to vote. We have complained tooooooo long about what is going on and we need to get involved or we will be left behind again. What am I saying? Don't give your vote away, but let it be earned. Learn what each person is saying and how you feel about it. You have a voice, you can say what you from your candidate, and you do count.

I think it is amazing what history is occurring in front of our eyes. People are forsaking color and looking for who is best to represent and not concerning themselves with the candidate of entitlement who you will not see in your church anytime soon. a recent CNN report qouted Hillary as saying, "I'm send Bill because he knows how to speak to them and he is carrying my message." I don't know how you take it but you decide. If you have not registered...do it now. If you are not informed....seek answers now. Do the research and make your decision. This is not an endorsement but a challenge to get involved.

PS.......This is News/Events. Todays News is yesterday's history...be careful who writes your history or you may become history.

I wonder about those persons who voted a straight party ticket? Did they do research on the people they were putting in office as their "voice" for government?

Next question, can we or even should we legislate morality? I ask because while it is wonderful having President Obama in office for the changes that will take place, do we as Christians, support ALL of the changes that the Democratic party stands for? Should Christians vote party or person? Especially Black Christians who are predominately Democratic....has anyone looked at the Decmocratic and Republican platforms on ALL of the issues? I am neither Democrat nor Republican...I rarely vote a straight party ticket.

For me, the problem with this election is that it was such a toss up of the two parties (including ALL who were running from President on down to Railroad Commissioner). As a Christian Believer, I am FOR the Bible, I am FOR biblical principles as a way of life. That being said... what do my fellow Black Preachers on this network have to say about the Democratic and Republican platforms on:

*abortion
*same sex marriage
*America's continuous support of Israel
just to name a few...

OR.....

are so hung up on the melting pot genealogy and the advancement of our unpure race that the above issues no longer matter? Don't get me wrong, I am a melting pot and unpure race just like my President so I am not bashing him for that. And my use of the word "pure" here means being in a lineage that has nothing but one race in it. For that matter, how many African Americans, Black Americans have "pure" blood anymore? America will soon be a race of ONE race which is both good.... AND bad. Just like integration was both good and bad.

These are just my random thoughts. Feel free to comment.

Please don’t change my words – I have never blamed Obama for the current condition that we find ourselves in as a nation. It is not his fault – and one does not need to be a rocket-scientist or even a born-again believer to know that. However, I do believe that the leaders of this great country will either contribute to the continuing decay and destruction of this great nation or they will bring about “real change that we can believe in”, by allowing Biblical principles to guide them.

More then just warfare, and unlike you, I do believe that every issue, circumstance and challenge that we are dealing with in our lives, whether personal or as a nation will always finds its roots in the spiritual condition.

I have checked the facts – and I have taken those facts, and set them next to the Word of God. Obama’s political platforms and representations of his convictions have helped me to conclude that he is neither a man guided by biblical principles nor a man that I would have voted for under any condition. Obama is as far to the left a liberal as anyone that has ever come before him. His political positions and convictions are sickening to the core. Obama is a puppet and a forerunner to set the international stage for what is coming – I will not change or bend in this. My face is set like a flint!!! And time will soon tell …

In response to you, I am not frustrated at the condition that world is in, as a matter of truth, I am rejoicing because I know that the Lord’s return is eminent and nearer then when we first believed. God in his tender mercy and loving kindness has given us plenty of notice in His word and because of that, I am prepared and ready. I am also prepared and stand ready at all times to tell others about the hope that is within me.

If there was a feeling that I could express, it would be one of grievance. I am grieving for the lost, and I grieve for those that have been deceived. It saddens my heart.

At the same time, I find great comfort in knowing that God’s purpose and plan will prevail!

Ahh! Well said
I didn't change your words Sis. If anything... if you read what I said... I agree with a some of what you said. My comment was to the general Christian Believer out there who just votes ignorantly without even knowing FULLY who they are voting for.

Then again, I'm still getting use to posting on ning so I may have replied to your post when I meant it as a general reply to all readers.

No harm so I hope no foul.

One thing in particular that I want to mention is that for a person to become a Republican or Democratic presidential candidate or representative for the presidential race, they must push the party's platform whether they agree with it or not. So, if a person doesn't agree with the moral issue stance that the Democrats have but they want to see a Black man in the white house... well they had a hard time with this election. I was and am still elated that a man of color .. a multi-racial man (as I am also multi racial - but considered Black ... but that's another disucssion -- LOL) is in the white house as PRESIDENT of the United States of America. What a message to the nation and to the world! But I was torn because the Democratic party DOES NOT share my views on certain foundational, core moral issues: mainly marriage and abortion. I so totally do not agree with their viewpoint. Republicans... man, all I can say is morailty platfom... on the ball... and then that's kind of it. NEITHER party has perfect people in it. And nowadays you have Democrats who are conservative and Republicans who are liberal. So I don't vote party lines... I vote PERSON.

At this point, he IS our President no matter what the opinions are of those who want him there or not. So, for me, what I don't like about him and what I do like about him have now got to be put under the umbrella of what do I do as a Christian for my President.

It's like being a single person and dealing with issues of a single person using biblical principles that apply to the unmarried. But once you are married you must NOW switch to the principles that God laid down for married folk. Do all of you understand? He IS our President now... so like it or not, we must pray for our President, his family, his cabinet, his choices, his safety, and ALL of those who are not in office (Repbulicans and Democrats). Right now, we can make our opinions known at the polls and as constituants to our House and Senate Reps for legislation that will affect us morally, financially, socially, educationally, etc.

I could type on this discussion board until I'm blue in the face, but my opinon doesn't have nearly as much weight here as it does in the places designated to make my voice heard.

Again, I did not mean to offend you and seem that I was addressing you directly Shannon... I'm still learning how to post and reply, etc.

Have an absolutely fabulous evening everyone.

YES you are correct...However the Bigger picture is what goes on behind closed doors at the BILDERBERG meetings
~~When Mr."O" and Hillery diverted there plane back in June for a secret meeting with the Bilderberg group~~This man walked out already selected for the Position...Check out Bilderberg then let me know
Have you noticed Hillery is now in the line of succession It was all decided before hand<><>
Your vote did not count...During election the Statement was this Votes needed to be elected...Those were congressional votes known as Electoral votes~~Guess who these people bow down to?????
Back to the illuminate / Bilderberg World Controllers>>>>
I'm glad we live in a time where everyone can voice their opinion. Discussion leads to better understanding of others and the ability to respect our differences is essential. I did not vote for a party but for a person, who might not be perfect but neither am I. The office of President is a job, nothing more. We are capable of choosing whom we feel is most qualified, but not perfect for the job. Sis. Tracy is on point. We need to pray for the leaders, for we are unable to issue a sentence of damnation on any man.

Shannon, i am apologizing if you were offended, but you make a lot of claims without any basis or fact. My simple challenge was to define the policy and stance of McCain, because you voted for him. Is his morals greater than Obama? if so, explain the morality of Palin? or even McCain? You concern is not that of just a party but the morality of individuals. Collective thinkers with bad thoughts. In life every person has a role to play, some good & some bad, but we all have a role. Some believe Obama is the key to some great evil being unleased on the earth, when nothing can stop God's plan. These things which are occuring, must take place. When they occur don't blame, just know that God will and his word is true.
Rev. Moore wrote: "Some believe Obama is the key to some great evil being unleased on the earth, when nothing can stop God's plan. These things which are occuring, must take place. When they occur don't blame, just know that God will and his word is true"

We (Christians) act as if we can reverse what is stated in the Bible. The anti-Christ WILL come... whomever he is. But the "spirit" of the anti-christ has been prevelant in America for quite some time now. And I wonder... really wonder why WE (ethnic groups) RAN to register to vote in this most wonderfully historical election... which it was profoundly historical. But, WE in our own cities don't look at the elected officials.. judges, statesmen, city government. JUDGES have been the ones overturning abortion and marriage cases... reaking HAVOC on our society. But we want to limit this to just the office of the President? Our country that was founded on biblical principles by men who called themselves Christians.... is quickly becoming a society led by non-Believers that Christians are elected or ignoring and just not voting. And I'm not talking about one particular leader. I'm talking about over a period of time we've gone from fundamental biblical principles to secular humanism and and all-inclusive tolerance that has continually deteriorated our society. The value of life is so low that murder is prevelant from the blatant criminal to the mass murders of the innocent we call... the unborn. But this is overshadowed by a woman's right to .. choose her creature comforts over the life inside of her. Black on black crime continues to escalate... and not just physical murder but we bicker amongst ourselves, killing one another with words. The family structure is now being forged by a rebellious infant named "Stewy" and an ignorant, immature father named Peter Griffith. Aren't we lucky there's a Family Guy? Boondocks... how wonderful that a black man can progress to such fame... but at what cost? Two militant midgets with no respect for authority but they are all about Power to the People. Whatever happened to children being shown that they should RESPECT the elders and obey their parents in the Lord for this is right... SO THAT.. their days may be long. And we wonder why our children are dying.

Uh oh... I think I just took a step on my soap box. LOL. Let me go ahead an sit back down in the seat of the silent observer.

Wait.. one more thing. I agree that we are not perfect but we should strive for the pleasing God...that's a perfect life. One that understands that we are not sinless but because we have a relationship with the Father through our risen Lord we should be sinning less. Since we expect that of ourselves, we should expect that from the people we elect in office... sinning less AND supporting platforms that do not promote wickedness and immorality.

But is this a reality in America today? Or am I just kidding myself?

Ok, back to my seat. :)
I was by no means offended by your last reply. I sincerely apologize if I seemed offended in my post truly that was not my intention.

But for the sake of saying, I don't vote a straight ticket, Republican or Democrat. The platforms for both parties are important to me but not the deciding factor. I simply in good conscience could not vote for Obama because his political aspirations and deep convictions conflict with what I know to be the truth in God's Word. I could not justify a vote for him for any reason!

As I have stated in a previous post, Obama is the people's choice, He is not God’s choice. He is Saul. He is the permissive will of God, and I do not believe that he is the perfect will of God. God has given the people of this great nation what they want, despite the truth that Obama is in complete opposition to the word of God as revealed by his political platform. We (the Church) have literally been set back decades with the election of Obama.

The biblical precedent for this is found in:

1 Samuel 8:6-7, 9-11, 18-20, 22
But when they said, "Give us a king to lead us," this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the LORD. And the LORD told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.” He said, "This is what the king who will reign over you will do: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day. "But the people refused to listen to Samuel. "No!" they said. "We want a king over us.” Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles. "The LORD answered, "Listen to them and give them a king." Then Samuel said to the men of Israel, "Everyone go back to his town."

1 Samuel 15:35 KJV

“And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death; nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.”

I am terribly saddened by the many Christian brothers and sisters who turned away from the truth and compromised their beliefs for the election of Obama. I realize I am a small minority. I would rather be in the small minority and have a clear conscience then go with the masses and miss God. I suppose only time will tell!!!

We will all be held accountable for every thought, word and deed, including how we voted and what was our motivation. My conscience is clear.

Truly His,
Shannon
Remember the women’s league of voters?

Back in 1992 Ross Perot was a third party member and because of the women's league he gained 30 million dollars from the people to assist in his campaign...He actually had 1 out of 5 votes...
You should find that interesting
Why? Because in 1996 Mr. Clinton and Bob Dole did not want that to be repeated as their illuminate /bilderberg buddies could not afford a real person for the PEOPLE to get elected...so those two sweethearts (PARTY boys) decided to get their buddies to shut down the Women's league and start a new DEBATE league. YEP it is all controlled... Really it is ONE party they just have the Sheeple thinking differently
That is why Ron Paul changed from Libertarian to Republican so he could at least try to run for the People...But the Liberal (joke) media press did everything it could to not give him airtime nor debate time

So NEXT time if we ever get the chance do not vote any party, Vote for someone who is Not a Bilderberg boy
It is no longer time to vote party it is however time to vote biblical and Constitutional values...before it is too late >>>Unfortunately it may be.
Shannon,

I know your responses are seen as Obama bashing... and I agree, this was the HARDEST election for me to cast my vote. It was a lesser of two evils... not evil men but evil platforms. Why couldnt we have a candidate that was BOTH morally sound as well as economically fair in policy as well as God-minded in foreign affairs.

*sigh*

At this point, who I voted for matters not. I am now in the position of an American with a new President that I will pray for; I will pray for his family his cabinet and his decisions. I will pray for my country...this sweet land of liberty. I will pray for my countrymen, statesment and fellow Houstonians. At this point, for me, why we should or shouldn't have voted for him is important but MOOT. The bun is in the oven and the country is impregnated with Democratic change that will be both good and bad. Like I always say, "when you marry Jack or Jane, you get their Uncle Pookie 'nem too". When we get a President, sometimes (and definitley in this case) we get the party too.

What is homogenous some may ask???

America’s Homogeneous society – oh that's just a fancy name for "melting pot". Melting pot is an analogy that describes a homogeneous society in which the ingredients in the pot (people of different cultures, races and religions) are combined so as to develop a multi-ethnic society. It is very rare that you will see a generation with "pure" blood in America. By pure blood I mean only one ethnicity can be traced in it's bloodline. I'm even a mixed race but folk look at me and call me African American or Black. I'm American Indian (Qualls), I'm Irish (McDade) and I'm Anglo/African mixed (Thompson). [Curtis is my married name that I kept after my divorce years ago]. But in America, a little leaven, leavens the whole lump. If you have a little Aftrican in ya.. then youz Black ... LOL

But I digress....

My hope... well, my hope is not in what man can accomplish but what God does in spite of who is elected in office. Is President Obama's election an end to racism in America??? No!!! (as a matter of fact, it brought out those hidden racist who were complacent with the status quo -- and I mean Black as well as White racists... munch on that for a minute or two)

His election was however a gigantic leap towards the homogenous society that we are rapidly becoming. What did Obama do... he renewed the spirit of "one nation" in America. Which had me applauding!!! What a task that only a charismatic individual could accomplish....

Now if only that "one nation" could come under God... it then would be.. INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

Remember, when you marry Jack, you get Uncle Pookie 'nem too! Be mindful that as one nation(ality) we will find ourselves incorporating the beliefs of a variety of religions... a (s)melting pot of wickedness mixed in with Christianity and we will call it... tolerance (aka -- Humanism). It will includle biblical principles and therefore sound really good to itching ears. It will seem fair and just but it won't be holy and righteous. After all, a woman has RIGHT to choose doesn't she??? (hmmm)

Here is something that I wonder if anyone really heard, President Obama said that change may not occur in one presidential term of 4 years....maybe not even 10 years. Man, I couldn't agree more. But while the left hand is righting the wrongs of the Bush era, the right hand is going to be supporting legislature of moral issues that are contrary to the Word of God. I don't know what to say. The radical change will also bring about....radical change and I did not want both "Jack AND Uncle Pookie"... but they are tethered together.

God Bless America!

~Tracy~
Jesse Ventura Speech tells it like it is~~~9 trillion in debt,... and a child born today owes $30,0000
"The Obama budget claims to cut the deficit in half by 2012, but relies on audaciously optimistic economic forecasts that no one believes in. Adding the 'stimulus' bill to a realistic budget baseline yields a projected 2010-2017 cumulative budget deficit of $8.4 trillion – 2.5 times the size of President Bush’s deficits over the same eight-year period." - Quote~~~The Heritage Foundation

$8.4 trillion? Barack Obama has only been in office for a little over a month!

That’s $8,400,000,000,000.00! That's approximately $28,000 for every man, woman and child in the United States... a staggering debt of about $112,000.00 for the average family of four.

And Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid aren't about to stop there. Like the Energizer Bunny, they want to keep going and going and going!

Obama still wants to nationalize health-care too... he wants to put the federal government in charge of energy and your children’s education... he wants to spend billions to eradicate global poverty… and the Obama Administration is now saying that more bailouts may be needed! And we the taxpayers are going to pay for it.

Look at just some of what has happened in the past 30 days.

On Friday, Obama proposed a 3.5 trillion dollar federal budget which will widen the deficit to $1.75 trillion dollars. The federal deficit in 2007 was $160.7 billion dollars. Obama's own proposed budget calls for a federal deficit that is almost 11 TIMES THE 2007 DEFICIT!

Timothy (I-Have-Issues-Paying-My-Own-Taxes) Geithner's Treasury Department announced that American International Group Inc. (AIG), after losing $99.3 billion in 2008 would receive an ADDITIONAL $30 billion in Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) handouts.

General Motors (GM) and Chrysler are angling for another $14 billion and GM is promising to cut 47,000 jobs - about 20 percent of its workforce - in exchange for its share of your taxpayer dollars.

The Chicago Tribune reported: ”President Barack Obama will break a campaign pledge against congressional earmarks and sign a budget bill laden with millions in lawmakers’ pet projects … Taxpayers for Common Sense, a watchdog group, identified almost 8,600 earmarks totaling $7.7 billion.”

In addition, Obama wants hard-working Americans who have played by the rules and have lived within their means to pay for other people’s defaulting mortgages!

At this rate; how much more will that $8.4 trillion figure go up?

Oh yeah, to pay for a small percentage of Obama’s spending habit, he wants to raise taxes during one of the worst economic recessions in recent memory!

It has simply got to STOP! It's got to STOP NOW!

It’s time for Americans to stick their heads out of the window and - to borrow a phrase from the classic movie Network - shout to Barack Obama: “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!”
