There are many things that are in the bible and there are many things that are not in the bible. Historically and biblically, the Catholic church exists outside of the Christian kingdom. Jesus started only one church and that was in Jersalem on the day of Pentecost. The Protestant churches are the offsprings of the Catholic church having no connection to the church that Jesus started with the apostles at Pentecost. Did any Hebrew teach of more than one God that trinity doctrine poses? Did Jesus, who was born a Hebrew teach of more than one God as trinity doctrine says? Why do we have to look outside of the bible to establish a trinitarian view and doctrine of God? No where in scripture we find that there is a God the Son, or God the Holy Ghost. No where in scripture do we find that there are 3 gods, nor do we find, according to some, 1 god in 3 persons. Wow! so many things are leeched onto our belief system of God really makes u wonder are u truly worshipping the God of the bible. Where do we get that God is a person other than being Jesus? Does the bible say that the Father is a person or a Spirit? John 4:24 Does the bible say that the Holy Ghost is a person? I think we really need to take a look at what is taught by Jesus in the scripture.

It clearly says that these three are one. Facts and truths are 2 different things. facts can be disputed ie..(mathematical formulas, scientific theories)
In the book of John Jesus clearly tells us of the Comforter (Holy Spirit) the spirit of truth. not analogies and exegesis'. So too be clear the Word did tell [teach on this basis]
Whether or not any one particular demonization teach or believe these things is up to them and those in which they possess. Trinity doctrine or trinity facts on what one has discovered to be thir truths, should not offend or be taken seriously. Because God reveals himself too. you see every man has been given a measure of faith.
I have no concern nor disrespect to the sisters beliefs, that's the way it is being taken.
It's like Carlton Pearson saying that no-one is going too hell, a factual opinion, but not true.
God my brethren is a Spirit and makes himself known through [ Christ, and the Holy Ghost] whether you or any believe that it's up to you.
The Bible clearly states that we must have the Holy Spirit, or we are none of his. many have the word in their minds and notebooks and faulty revelations. Having God dwell within them is another story. Futile you say only to the futile, and we are to be one with our God also, even as Christ.
please tell, how one in Christendom stands over another, or one opinion is better than the other. You see the falling away is occuring in front of our very eyes, and in many of our lives.
The believers, doers and hearers of God's word. For there are too many who claim to have authority and wisdom above all, and the whole time they are denying the power of God. God is who he is to all, possibly didn't meet God as a child, teenager, or an young person, but thank God for the meeting. The trinity Doctrine is what it is, Doctrine, And we all know that the word is profitable for Doctrine and the likes.
Are the catholics not a Church themselves, as the Apostolics, pentecostals, baptist, A.m.e.c., or United Methodists etc.... Surely they are.
If God is not The Holy Spirit and these three are not one, why did Solomon say that a three fold cord is not easily broken? please answer..
You see God reveals himself through his Spirit, He showed himself through his son, and these three are one in the same.
you take the word persons and want too hold up everything for one word, if you know God you know him through his spirit.
And again I have no feelings toward nor against your opinion, hopefuly you can respect the factual data that I have presented, seeing how it's not exegesis and all.
As in your previous statement John does not declare God to be 3 persons. the bible in no wise says God is a person other than being Jesus. Since u have stated that the Father is a person, and the Holy Ghost is a person, in agreeance with the trinity doctrine, u have not stated what the bible says about God. Since u have stated in agreeance with the trinity doctrine that 1 god is 3 persons the bible in no way states the same. So the question is who is right about God, the bible or the Catholic trinity doctrine which is not of scripture, nor suported in Christian teaching?
As i have stated in this forum previously
1 John5:6-7
6) This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bereth witness, because the Spirit is the truth.
7) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these ar one.
BONUS 1 jOHN 5:8-11
8) And there are three that bear witness in Earth, the Spirit, and the Water, and the Blood: and these three agree in one.
9) If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his son.
10) He that believeth on the Son of god hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11) And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
need more
Acts 2:33-Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
Acts 2;380 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Persons Iam not interested in, neither should you, for if you believe that God is a Spirit You already know that a Spirit is not a person.
who's talking about persons, Triune how many is that?
Tri ( Tricycle)three/ bi( bicycle) two.and these three are one.
These three are one....
that is what the word says; how many times, The Holy Ghost is Apart of the Godhead, whether you like it or not, or maybe you all feel that God uses another Spirit besides his own. That would be witchcraft, and we know he doesn't play with that.
If believeing that The Holy Ghost is a part of God sends me too hell; So be it,
But at the sametime I shall not blaspheme.
Have you ever known God too use any other besides himself, too help man, too perform miracles, etc.... Hey that's your opinion and like the sister said; this one is mine,
And by the way all of these ones have too add up too something 1 1 1 i see three
trinity, and no-one was talking of marriage any way, if you lay with a woman the two become 1 flesh....
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. Like it or not these three are one.... According too 1st John 5:7( that's it plain and simple).
God Bless,
Minister West

Min. West, you refer to the fact that Jesus said He would send us a comforter....where in the Bible does it specifically say that the comforter is the Holy Spirit? Or is this what somebody TOLD us it meant? This is the way I was taught of course-- that this is a reference to the Holy Spirit, but as I examined the text--the Holy spirit is not even mentioned here.

The one thing I don't understand is how our own people can "hate" on us, and make snide remarks about being educated scholars, and good exegetes. The scriptures tell us to study (that reference in Timothy was not about reading the bible at home either). If we have a relationship with God, are filled with his spirit, are apointed as defenders of the faith (not the religion of Christianity), and have prepared ourselves extensively through study and discipline, why in the world do we recieve such harsh treatment from those who have chosen not to be educated AND filled with the Spirit? Seems our scholarship and integrity, along with being filled with the Spirit would be celebrated by our own, since almost EVERY thing we know about Christianity came from European scholars, theologians, and leaders --many of which never even received Spirit baptism. I don't get it--maybe you could also explain that to me Min. West.
In the Holy Bible it clearly states in 1John 5:7 FOR THERE ARE THREE THAT BEAR RECORD IN HEAVEN, THE FATHER,THE WORD,AND THE HOLY GHOST: AND THESE THREE ARE ONE. THAT'S WHY SOME PEOPLE CALL IT TRINITY 5:7.
I agree but the only version I read is the King James Version. In 2Timothy verse 7 Paul describes them as obsessed with knowledge but woefully lacking in understanding -always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. This is a thoroughly deceived society. It's best to seek God for ourselves becaused no one can give him to us. There are so many false teachers and doctrines. By the way I like your song no more tears I've been listening to it all day. God Bless.
I John 5:7

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." (I John 5:7)

Although this verse of Scripture is often used by those who believe in three persons of God, it actually refutes this view, for it says that "these three are one." Some interpret this phrase to mean one in unity as a man and wife are one. But it should be pointed out that this view is essentially polytheistic. If the word one referred to unity instead of a numerical designation, then the Godhead can be viewed as many gods in a united council or government. If unity were meant, the verse should have read, "These three agree as one."

It is also interesting to note that this verse does not use the word Son, but Word. If Son were the special name of a separate person in the Godhead, and if this verse were trying to teach separate persons, why did it use Word instead of Son? Son does not refer primarily to deity, but Word does. The Word is not a separate person from the Father any more than a man and his word are separate persons. Rather, the Word is the thought or plan in the mind of God and also the expression of God.

In a similar way, the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit is not a separate person from the Father any more than a man and his spirit are separate persons. Holy Spirit just describes what God is. First John 5:7 says that three bear record in heaven; that is, God has recorded Himself in three modes of activity or has revealed Himself in three ways. He has at least three heavenly roles: Father, Word (not Son), and Holy Ghost. Furthermore, these three roles describe one God: "these three are one." [20]
Oh yes, this is what I'm talking about! A place where we can agree to disagree about His Word. I praise God for bringing me to this site. I'm going to definitely respond and share what I feel God has taught me on this subject at another time. I definitely agree with Sister Raychell Smith in that to me the King James Version is the only reference I will be referencing because I truly believe it is the infallible Word of God. I'm going to write on this another time also and show you why I believe other bibles are the work of Satan the greatest deceiver ever and his plans to confuse us as believers in Christ. Let me say this, the only religion is in man's mind and not Gods. We started religion so we could justify our own doctrine to fit our own needs. The first followers of Christ we called Christians simply because they followed Christ and nothing else. All these watered down beliefs are just that and where they stem from we will get into this also. Catholicism stems from Babylonian mysteries and when I hear someone say that Constantine was the father of Christiandom I cringed all over. If you know anything about Babylonianism mysteries, Constantine, never mind another time for another discussion. I'll stick to this topic, I apologize. None of the bible was written by men but they were inspired by God what to write. From Moses to John neither person is the author but instructed by God what to put into writing. Otherwords, God is the sole Author and Writer of the bible. The translators from the Greek and Latin text are not the translators but were inspired by God what to translate. No one from Moses to John to the translators just happened to sit down one day and say "Hey I think I'll write the bible or write something or add something in the bible. That wasn't done until Satan decided to put all these other bibles in existence. These bible (and please believe me I'll discuss this another time to stay on one subject) we not inspired by God but by Satan to once again keep us confused and separated in our beliefs because of wrong doctrines and the writings on this topic proves this. Praise God for bringing me here and fellowshipping with you Brothers and Sisters and I look forward to many conversations with you all. One last thing everyone says how hard and difficult it is to read the KJV and understand it. It's been proven in studies that of all the bibles it can be read at 5th grade level and that is lower than the other studies from the other so called bibles. It's been said we don't use that kind of language today but I'm here to say God doesn't need for us to correct Him for we are carnal and He is Holy. He is perfect the first time every time and not us. The reason most people don't and can't understand the real bible is because they aren't given God's knowledge, wisdom and understanding of His Word. You can't just pick up the bible and read it like you would some novel written by man. Are you kidding me? Our words are dead and His Words are alive and that's why so many people aren't truly feed but are left empty. Whew, I'm gonna love this site for sure and I love you all. May the God of mercy and grace continue to bless, guide, teach and keep us in His Holy Word, in Christ Jesus Holy Name, Amen. Take care my wonderful Brothers and Sisters and I will write more on this topic because I hear the non believe about the Trinity from Jehova's Witnesses, Mormons and other beliefs and we'll get into that also. Have a blessed evening.
First let me say that in no way am I a Holier than Thou person whatsoever. I know I am a sinner Rom 5:12 and came from the streets of Kansas City and South Central LA. I grew up in the 50's & 60's during a time of turbulation and separatism in a very racist (still is) nation. God brought me a long way from where I was to where I am and I'm still coming. I had friends over watching (in Denver) the World Series so I just happened during a break to sign on BPN because I was wondering if my Brothers and Sisters spoke about our faith and beliefs. The certainly don't on the other sites, only push their business and that's OK I speak of my business too. But I want to talk about Him and I found this topic and now I can give my 2 cents but will always refer to what I found in His Word so you know it's not mine totally. See I don't think (no matter how intelligent we feel we are or how many degrees or what Theologian School we come from) we as human beings have the capability of understanding God. Sure we try and believe we can because we're smart human beings. That's the problem, we're human beings caranl as can be and God is Spirit, Holy as can be. How can we figure that which created us unless He gives us His understanding, wisdom and knowledge, NOT OURS!
So anyway let me give what I believe to be the Trinity explained.

"Trinity" is a term that is not found in the Bible but a word used to describe what is apparent about God in the Scriptures. The Bible clearly speaks of God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit...and also clearly presents that there is only one God. Thus the term: "Tri" meaning three, and "Unity" meaning one, Tri+Unity = Trinity. It is a way of acknowledging what the Bible reveals to us about God, that God is yet three "Persons" who have the same essence of deity.
Some have tried to give human illustrations for the Trinity, such as H2O being water, ice and steam (all different forms, but all are H2O). Another illustration is an egg having a shell, egg yolk and egg white, but this egg illustration shows that there would be "parts" to God, which isn't the case.
God the Son (Jesus) is fully, completely God. God the Father is fully, completely God. And God the Holy Spirit is fully, completely God. Yet there is only one God. In our world, with our limited human experience, it's tough to understand the Trinity. But from the beginning we see God this way in Scripture. Notice the plural pronouns "us" and "our" in Genesis 1:26 -- Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
Though not a complete list, here is some other Scripture that shows God is one, in Trinity:
• "Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!" (Deut. 6:4)
• "I am the LORD, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God." (Isa. 45:5)
• There is no God but one. (1Cor. 8:4)
• And after being baptized, Jesus went up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased." (Matt. 3:16-17)
• "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." (Matt. 28:19)
• Jesus said: "I and the Father are one." (John 10:30)
• "He who has seen Me has seen the Father." (John 14:9)
• "He who beholds Me beholds the One who sent Me." (John 12:45)
• If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. (Rom. 8:9)
• "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for that which has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." (Matt. 1:20)
• And the angel answered and said to her [Mary], "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:35)
• [Jesus speaking to His disciples] "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you." ... "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our abode with him." (John 14:16-17, 23)
Bottom line Brothers and Sisters our trying to fight doctrine instead of what our first love should be and that is spreading His Word as we were told to do (Matt 28: 18 - 20) is why I believe we have all these man made religions. We want our viewpoints known instead of just letting go and let God. These false doctrines began with the Jews and then even with Jesus own disciples with their spinoffs. The bottom line is this, when we all stand before Him (and we will) it will be alone not with anyone else and the truth will be revealed to all. God does reveal Himself to us if we are sincere about wanting to know Him. I believe this because of what He has done in my life. Anyway this is what I believe to be why the Trinity is real and comes from God in His Word, not mine. God bless you.
My friend why do u use such unbiblical terms that the bible does not. The bible never refers to Jesus as God the Son. This is a violation of scripture. No where in the bible is the Holy Ghost refered to as God the Holy Ghost. Catholic doctrine teaches that there is more that one God/person= trinity. Even offsprings of trinity dogma is tritheistic in nature. Trinity doctrine today has modernized and evolved itself in peoples mind to 1 god in 3 persons. God the Father is a Spirit. the only person is and was Jesus. The Holy Ghost is not taught in scripture as a person, but is the Spirit of God. So again why u use unbiblical terms to describe One God is beyond me. When u can declare in the word of God that there is a trinity, please share, so we can read along with u.
