Matthew 23:8-9

But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Sorry, God has no grandchildren, only SONS!!! John 1:12,
Even Jesus is not our Father, but the Firstborn amongst many BRETHREN!!! Rom. 8:29,
John 20:17-Jesus saith ... go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father.

‎"... my Father and your Father". Be sure to have God as your Father and relate to Him as such. Do not make that relationship through another human being. If you do not have intimate relationship with God as Father, check your sonship

Jesus is a brother to ALL the SAINTS. If you are a father to any saint then you are saying Jesus is your son. Lord help us!!!

The Jews said, "we have Abraham as our father". Later on, Jesus said "call no man your father". Lets not practice Judaism but Christianity !!!

Good to know. Maybe my North American friends and the internet must have influenced my english writing. As you already know we in Ghana are educated with the British English. But thats alright.

Be blessed.

Have you seen my new postS yet? - "WHICH BAPTISM WAS JESUS REFERRING TO?" and "IS HEAVEN UNDER RENOVATION?"

Is Jesus not our father when the prophet said: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).

Can we really not call anyone our spiritual father, when Jesus was mentioning calling someone your father in pertaining to making them your god? How so? Look at how Catholicism works...they go to the "father" and repent to him and not God Almighty, the True Father, Himself. A sign of the upcoming religion called Catholicism. If the person called A father is being put above THE Father, then it is a problem. MAn should worship God and not man. That is what is implied.

I meant that the words He spoke concerning not calling anyone your father can be used as a sign of the catholic tradion on its way sinc eit had not yet been in the earth, but we saw and see how now they have a "father" to go to and confess your sins to as if he can forgive.

No problem

Please read through the earlier posts
A prophecy about the Godhead inhabiting humankind is what you are referring to. But look specifically at the personality of Jesus whether though He will say is equal to the father ever related to His disciples as a Father

1 Corinthians 4:15, "For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet [have ye] not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel."

An instructor is not going to teach you like a father.  Today most instructors are more concerned with reading their resume, referencing their educational training and background, concerned with popularity and venue, how they are going to be compensated (paid), obtaining mega church status, etc.

There are ten thousand instructors in ministry today who are only concerned with their technical analysis, theological aptitude concerning Christ (puffed up) and personal agenda.  Many are more concerned about how much you are giving to the ministry.  The first concern should be to make sure that a person has received Christ.

The biblical number ten also means "responsibility".   If you are in ministry your first responsibility is to father people in the word of God and put your personal agenda on the back burner.  Less of you and more of Christ.  This doesn't mean that I am to go around talking about I am your "spiritual father."

Paul says, "For this cause I have sent you Timothotheus (means "honouring God") who is my beloved son..."

Many people have made a doctrine out of the term "spiritual father" and use it out of context and to control and keep other people underneath them.

Always 100

Pitbull, Excellent indeed. That was brilliant. If anyone is taking the time to go through this postings, it will be realized that I am not against your first submission. All am doing is stressing your latter submission. To quote a bit of you:

I pray also that people will be able to see my position on this and why I have decided to take an entrenched position on this matter. All these have been stated earlier. Many issues are repeating themselves after they have come up and been addressed. Please lets have time to see all that is written before we comment so we don't go round round.

Also, Matthew 23:9
