Deuteronomy 1:16, Proverbs 31:9, Psalm 67:4; 96:10 - help me with this.

My thoughts:

To admonish -1. To reprove gently but earnestly;2. To counsel (another) against something to be avoided; caution;3. To remind of something forgotten or disregarded, as an obligation or a responsibility.

To exhort: To urge by strong, often stirring argument, admonition, advice, or appeal; to urge or persuade (someone) earnestly; advise strongly.

I need thorough understanding of what it is to 'judge righteously".  I am not clear...

Righteous judgement is to base things off of spirit and not appearance. Pretty much going off of whatsomething really is and not what we assume or think it to be.

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment (John 7:24)

Okay, so we judge, right.  We must judge according to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.  Am I on the right track?

When we speak of judging righteous judgement, we are observing the Divine Laws of God.  We then keep the commandments of God and live innocent, faultless, guiltless of the 'crime' we are judging.

Then there are the Corinthian instructions regarding the man in the church that continued to fornicate and the Corinthians would not remove him from the church (1 Corinthians 5:1-8).  Paul continues to give them instruction in dealing with right and wrong.   He made them 'think' about what is approved of or acceptable of God.

So, why is it that Christians continuously say, "I'm not one to judge" if we are given the authority to do so in the earth?

Yes! Juding by the word of God is righteous judgement. Anything else is just flesh judgement, which is the type we are not supposed to do. Some people say "don't judge me" but if the word has judged them you haven't judgeed them out of your own thoughts, but righteously, with word

Okay Brother Joseph, I am on the right track.  It appears that my surroundings are not grasping this.  My name according to some, is "mean and evil" because I am always quoting scripture to give insight of what needs to be corrected.

There have been many times that I would "sit-myself-down" to keep peace in the House of God. However, the nonsense continues and being in the minority is not an easy position nor task.

I know that God loves it when we are in obedience to His Word.  You see, I am one of God's BRATS (Born, Raised And Trained and Beautiful Rich and Talented - no brag just fact - because that's who God says I am).  So, everything He tells me through His Word and through my guide and teacher, the Holy Spirit, is what I truly believe.  I cannot waste time in believing my thoughts, ideologies, etc. because previous experience has shown/taught me that "mine" doesn't work...

Thanks for your guidance...

I understand.

SIster, I posted a status on facebook admonishing people to stop using Matthew 7:1 to suggest that Christians should not judge one another. Even sinners use it. Tupac said, "no one can judge me but God" which is somewhat true. 1 Corinthians 5:13 says, "But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person". "Without" means God judges sinners. But we need to be concerned with those who are "within". (The Church) In Matthew 7 Jesus is teaching them to judge rightly or righteously. In short, he asked them how can they see the mote in their brother's eye but don't consider the beam in their own eye. He told them to remove the beam from their own eye first, and then they can clearly see how to remove the mote from their brother's eye. He was teaching them to judge righteously and not as a hypocrite. Nobody ever reads that far though, they read the first verse and stop!

Thanks Brother Maurice,  I appreciate your explanation. I will look you up on Facebook as well...

Amen. Good breakdown

1st Corinthians 2:15-16: "But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For who has known the mind of of God that he may instruct Him?  But we have the mind of Christ."   I believe judging righteously in accordance with what the Holy Ghost reveals to you and you make a comparison with the Word of God.
