Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

This discussion has gone on too long! When we say men's apparel and women's apparel, we can clearly look at a pair of pants and tell if they were made for a man or a women.  If a man wore women's pants, it is very easy to tell that he is wearing women's clothing.  If a women wears men's pants it also would be easy to tell.  Christ wants our soul, NOT our clothes.  That is why we sing, "I gave Him my old filthy garment and He gave me a robe of pure white.  But we have to focus on what the Holy Spirit put into our hearts.  First win the soul over to Christ the most important matter first, then teach & educate them in a Godly manner.  As I recall it is a come as you are basis.  If someone is coming to Christ accept them as being a Child of God, everything else is secondary, Remember we are Children of God Under Construction!

THIS IS APOSTLEBISHOP DEXTER THOMPSON I FEEL LIKE IF THE HOLY GHOST DON'T CONVICT YOU AND IF GOD DON'T THEN I WANT EITHER I DO HAVE ONE REQUEST I ASK THE WOMEN IN MY CHURCH JUST DON'T WEAR THEM IN THE PULPIT WOMEN OF GOD ALLOW GOD TO LEAD YOU AND EVEN IN MY REQUEST IF THE LORD TELL YOU TO YOU DO WHAT GOD LEAD YOU TO DO

Because of your tradition you have made the word of God of none effect(mk7:13). Let's just get tradition out of the church.Since the church is God business,Then let's just let God run it.The bible says If your heart doesn't condemn you neither will I.

What tradition?  Apostolic or mundane?  We must keep the Apostolic traditions (2 Thess 2:15).  In the early Church times women wore decent clothes - clothes that do not cause men to think otherwise.  Please let us encourage the women in our churches to put on decent clothes apart from pants.  Be blessed.

My Sister, I believe that it's about the heart, and soul. Living a life of love, hope, peace and faith in God. what you wear is your business, i know that you understand it's a denominational thing and really has nothing to do with your soul salvation. As long as you would be pleased for Christ to walk in with what you have on and it is not revealing, it is fine to wear. At our Church Victorious Joy Fellowship In Winston-Salem NC, there is no dress code, come as you are. wear what you have, but be clean and neat. Our focus is on worship, giving glory and praise to God alone. My prayer is that as you seek and trust God, He will continue to show you truth on this subject matter. God loves you very much. Be bless.

i agree no pants when santified

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? In this day of various issues in and out the Church does this really matter?

According to YOUR Faith be it unto you.

What santified me was and is the blood of Jesus Christ and the Spirit Santifiys us through the word.

SERIOUSLY???? You all are STILL talking about this??? wow...

Old and Irrelevant

Hello my sister... you have a valid question about men wearing pants...for in those days pants were not created.  However,  I want you to know that this is a question that will never be resolved. It is for certain that women should not dress in the likeness of a man taking the characteristics of one as well but the wearing of pants has nothing to do with the saving of your soul.  Romans 14 tells us that one may believe and another may believe something different.  But is this enough to condemn our brothers and cut off fellowship.  In these days and times, we ( in my opinion) should let those who will come in the church without condemnation for their souls are weary.  Trust me when I say, if you preach the word and not opinions, the word of God will clean them up and when their insides are changed; their outside will also.  Hope that gives you some insight.  Is there an solid answer; it lies with your Minister and you adhering to him when you joined the church.  These things should be covered in Orientation.  Take care.
