Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

Amen sister. I agree with you whole heartily. We are divided over issues that have no impact on salvation. However, I do believe in order. I don't preach against pants, but when a sister is scheulded to serve in the worship my requirement is that she wear a dress/suit or skirt that is long enough that when she sit that it don't rise above her knees. It is not my theology just my preference as leader. We respect the school dress code, our job dress code and other dress codes, but when it comes to Yahweh's house we have our opinions and walk disrespectfully. Pants or women preachers is not my issue. my issue is disobedience, disrespect and rebellion. We are passing all the electives and failling the requirements. We can't graduate with just electives, we must pass the requirements. We are divided over issues that have no impact on salvation.

Pants vs souls he cares about your soul and your heart. Yes, things must be done descent and in order so that we are not  a hinder to sinners finding him! The world does not care what they wear and how the  wear it yet, they serve the enemy freely with other willing parties while sinning! If we are clothed and serving our one and true God let us not do it in a cramp! Put on your war clothes.... the whole amour of God and lets fight!!

Thank you Sister, may the Lord bless you.

I wish members of this forum should look at the scriptures Deut 22:5.  Where I come from, trousers (which I think you brethren refer to as pants) are clothings meant for men.  From the above passage, it is commanded that women desist from wearing men's clothing.  Why do we go on bringing our own thinking against God's word.  We agree that the word of God is our standard of living.  Let us keep to the word of God.

Fr. Igani

Personal relationship with God is what it is about, not the misinteruputed rules and regulations.

Do you know what a brother told me when I was living in the inner city of Chicago? He looked around and counted the many store front churches around us. "If Christianity is so right then why do we have so many churches and so little salvation?" He's right. If we would open our eyes and truly SEE what's going on in our communities, here's what we would see:

1) Abortion-13 million DEAD babies so far and counting

2) Homosexuality-people aren't born that way. They are raped into sexual confusion

3) Substance abuse-Did you know that 48-65% of people using dope or booze are doing that to dull the pain of child rape?

So our ignoring the phenomenon of child rape is what is supports homosexuality and domestic violence.

Add in our problems with broken homes, drop out rates, and Lord knows what else and you have a stone cold mess.

People are going to Hell left and right and we are making up rules that make it even harder for folks to find salvation! Do you really think that the Lord Jesus Christ gives a flying flip as to what kind of clothing you and I wear as long as it covers up the bits that can cause temptation? Some pants are a lot more modest than many dresses and as for hair, that's going to go into the grave when you die along with everything else. SO WHO CARES?

I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but I have had it up to here with people going on and on about what you wear when people are being raped, drugged, and used up like old tissues by folks who should know better. It's a disgrace and yet here we are fussing over clothes?????? I wear a full habit and a head covering because that's what I feel God wants me to wear while ministering. But on the streets I wear jeans and I am totally sure Jesus could care less. But If we don't get our priorities straightened out in the clergy and community WE ARE ALL GOING TO HELL.

The people will go because they followed after preachers sold out to wickedness and the preachers will go because we would rather preach about pants than get off our butts and get dirty in the streets wrestling with REAL sin.

PS: when we are standing at the altar I wear a full habit and head covering and my deacons wear full robe and hat, just like the Jews do before the Lord. Why? Because it is nonsense to have women dress and certain Biblical way and not have the men do the same.

It is madness to apply this old testament interpretation of acceptable raiment to 21st Century conventions.  Is it sensible to conclude that the salvation of Jesus Christ can be negated, the power of the Holy Ghost made impotent, the love of the Father turned to disdain based upon the cut and form of fabric worn in or out of church?  One brother's opinion, no

Would you all accept a man preaching to you or sitting next to you in church  with a dress and heels on? I think not. God wants his people to OBEY his word. Its about obedience not what we think is right or wrong. its what God thinks.

"...We are still distracting ourselves with this nonsense and making it difficult for people to come to Christ because we hang our ourselves on religion..."

Thats bananas!

Nobody is making it difficult for folk to come to Christ.  If they wanted to go to a some den of iniquity to pick up guys they would dress for that kind of atmosphere.

If they were going on a job interview (and really wanted to get the job) they dress for that atmosphere.

If someone is about to playfoot ball - they dress for that situation.

If someone is going to attend a meeting with the president you dress for that situation - and believe it or not - they have certain rules.

If someone is about to go into the house of the LORD - then they dress for reverence to Gods word - which tells women to dress like women and men to dress like men and it tells women to dress modestly and guess what what - dressing in a pair of pants showing where her crotch begins and ends is not dressing modestly.

Please ladies - it will not kill you to have a little respect for God's house.

Try to do whatever you do a little bit differently when it comes to doing anything for God.

The catalyst for the fans’ embarrassing Winter Clothes outburst seemed to be Jacob’s decision last week to deal star guard and fan favorite— a trade that brought Milwaukee center to the Bay Area.” Sometimes change is Cheap Nike inevitable, and it’s going to work out just fine,” Mullin assured the crowd Monday night, a failed attempt to get to subside. “With your support Nike Outlet and patience — and use that passion in the right direction — this thing is going the right way."

But the frustration, in truth, was about far more Red Bottom Heels than trading Ellis. It’s about the fact that things have been Red Sole Shoes going the wrong way for far too long. That unrelenting, vitriolic anger on display Monday was borne over two decades of Warriors incompetence, both on the Red Bottom Shoes court and behind the scenes. And Jacob — who bought the Coach Outlet Online team less than two years ago — was unwittingly placed in the middle of a firestorm waiting to happen, Coach Outlet both when he signed on the dotted line in November 2010 and when he stepped out to center court Monday.

The first two years of the Joe Jacob era Coach Outlet with the Golden State Warriors have been bumpy, to say the least, but the Warriors owner could have never expected that Monday night’s ceremony in Oakland —Coach Outlet Online one honoring one of the franchise’s all-time greats —Red Bottom Shoes would play out like it did. Watch Warriors fans boo owner Joe Jacob during Chris Mullin's jersey Red Sole Shoes retirement ceremony.

At halftime of the Warriors’ 97-93 home loss to the Red Bottom Heels Minnesota Timberwolves, the team retired Chris Mullin’s No. 17, raising it high into the Oracle Arena rafters. It was supposed to be a touching and Nike Outlet well-deserved moment for an all-time great and an all-around good guy. But then Jacob took the microphone at midcourt to say a few words, and the mood Cheap Nike quickly turned sour.

Hell apparently hath no fury like a scorned Warriors fan, and the Golden State faithful were all too eager to unleash their pent-up rage on Jacob, turning their cheers to jeers and mercilessly drowning out the owner with vehement boos Winter Clothes as he tried to continue with the proceedings.
