I say no! All sin seperates us from a loving God. It was out of His love for us that he died on a cross and crucified all sin paying it's debt. Homosexuals are not hated by God and they are not hated by me. The sin they are in is no different than the sin that I struggle with day to day. Be careful about hate, it will eat you from the inside out. Love people, all people the way Christ loves you and me.

Sin is always death. The sin of homosexuals comes with horrible consequences. So does the sin of drunkeness and idolitry and so the list goes on and on. Jesus is the solution and the salvation for all men and for all sin. Thius may not be popular, but standing for Christ and resting in His word has never been the most popular thing to do. Love your neigbor is not a choice. Hate the sin love the sinner is what I have been told.

what keeps him from hating us - we are sinners The Apostle Paul said in romans that if a man said he has no sin he is a liar. Jesus said let him who has know sin cast the first stone. Yes God hates sin. We all should, but God wishes that no man should parish, but that all would come to repentance. Are you saying that you do not sin or that you are not in need of God's forgivness on a daily basis or even an minute by minute basis? This is not an excuse to sin, but a confession of the way things really are in oour world. Only in our eternal home will we sin no more. God's grace is greator than all our sin.
What keeps him from hating us? That is a great question. The answer is that we belong to him. Sinners are those who practice sin, and so believers of Jesus are not sinners at all, because we do not practice breaking God's laws.

Contextual wise, when Peter said God wishes no man to perish, he was referring to his own people. You have to remember, Jesus came to save the lost of Israel. In my opinion, that includes Gentiles as well, since we are grafted into the Olive Tree. Jesus did not die for all humans, but ONLY those who have been appointed to salvation.

I am not saying that I do not sin, that is not the point. The point is that God not only hates the sin, for it is a stench in his nostrils, but he also hates the sinner(one who practices sin). One of the biggest mistakes that a Believer in Christ does is to call himself a sinner. If you are truly keeping God's commandments, then you are NOT a sinner, because you do not practice sin.
it still appears that you are claiming to be withour sin or at the very least one who does not break commandments. Do you every tell lie? Do you every lust after another man's wife. do you hate your brother? If so, and unless you are Christ himself and are very honest with yourself, you have to answer yes to all of the above. Jesus teaches us that if we look upon a women with lust with commit adultry, if we say we have no sin the truth is not in us, if we hate our brother we are quilty of murder. So it the commandments serve a higher purpose, to show us that we are as Paul said, in need of a Savior. Read Romans, Glalatians and Hebrews. The scripture teaches us that we cannot add to our salvation nor can we do anything to earn salvation and once we are saved we continue our struggle with sin. But in Christ we have a way out. We have a way to live in victory over sin, we have a Savior. There are two kinds of sinners. A saved sinner who runs from sin and a lost sinner who runs from rightousness. But w are like sheep are led astry and need forgivness like we need air to breath. Remove God's grace abd we are sinners in the hands of an angry God. Peace brother this is a good conversation and I love you in the Lord, but you cannot add the covenant of law keeping to the covenant of GRACE.
Sure I can add law keeping. Let me show you how. Upon my studies in Romans, Galatans, and Hebrews, I have found out that when Paul said "we are not under law", he means that we are not under its condemnation. Have you ever notice why Paul always ended some of his sentences like," Not under law, but under grace?"

That is because we are not longer under the law's condemnation, but we receive grace when we sin. In OT times, when you break God's law, you die flat out. Now that we are under grace, when we sin, we have a lawyer in heaven that will intercede on our behalf. We can repent of those sins, and move on.

I am not sure how you are thinking that I believe that I am without sin, and do not break commandments. I made that clear to you already that that is false. Only Jesus lived a perfect life. It is our job to walk in the way of the spirit, and live like Jesus lived, and that was obeying Torah.

The keeping of God's law is proof of your love for God. When you keep his commandments, you are showing God that you love him.

1 John 2:3 - And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.

1 John 5:3 - For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.

It is agreed upon that one is not saved by the law, because the law demands perfection, and no human is perfect. Jesus came to do what the law could not do, and that is save. But, that gives no excuse for not keeping God's law. It is a direct command from God.

One cannot add to their salvation initially, but you still must work out your salvation with fear and trembling. You still must keep God's commandments. If not, this is what Ezekiel says:

Ezekiel 18:24 - But when the righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, according to all the transgressions which the transgressor has wrought, none of his righteousness which he has wrought shall be at all remembered; in his trespass in which he has trespassed, and in his sins in which he has sinned, in them shall he die.

The Greek word for "iniquity" is Anomos, which means no law, or lawlessness. Those who do not keep God's commandments as they should, Jesus will tell them to depart from him.

But, it stands true that we are saved by grace through faith in our Lord, but we must not forgot God's commandments, which was what God always told his people. WE are God's people. Be blessd bro, and live well.
I think through clarity that we agree. Salvation is by faith through grace alone. Obedience is not optional and sin still leads to seperation and death for all that choose to be characterized by a sinful lifestyle. James is a good book to summerize our walk by faith and in obedience to God's will (LAW). Calrity was not for me, but for those that may say that one sin is worst than another. I guess that if there is one sin that is worse than another it would be the sin of unbelief.

God Bless,

Excellent point ,,good presentation,,,,The good part of this is we can come back to him necause he will forgie us once we are sincere about our actions and turn from them
NO the bible state all have sin and fall short his glory...However,we sin intentionally There a rule that is call reap and sow...Some sin can cause diffrent consequences that can effect your character or even your genration...Sex sin can ruin your family and genration,,,,Disobeince to God is another one ...When adam was hidden from God in the garden ..He ask adam where are you ..He wasnt taking about his place in the garden but, He was talking about place where hes live was....Where we are in sin God can find us,,,,It not sin is sin some are weighed,,It wrong to lie, but most of the time it harm less ...Some sin is unerasable...Know what I mean..
When you keep God's law, you will be walking in the spirit, and not fulfilling your lustful desires! Halleluyah.
what sin did Christ die for? Did He not pay for all sin? If we only lied, would we need His forgiveness. I agree that sin has different consequences, but the wages of all sin is death. If you lie or if you kill you are still in need of His salvation. Thanks for the insightful comment.

Blessings, John
Tecnically, not, because every transgression is sin and as we read in Revelations, not even a lier can enter the Kingdom of God!

Still although we have to admit that one way or another we sin every day, God was not calling every sinner to report for every sin. That tells us that there are sins which are more an abomination to God than others. For example, when Miriam and Haaron spoke against Moses for his strange wife. When one took a rod and a mantel from Jericho and that made God withdraw His strength from His Army in battle against Ai. Peter denied three times to know Jesus, but he found repentance, while Judas died in his sin. We would never condemned King Saul for his ...little sin of disobedience, but God took the kingdom from him. So, I would say that although every transgrassion is a sin, still there are sins which depending on the situations, will be worse in the eyes of God than others.
Great pont! I always think about the life and sin of David. He committed adultry, had basheba's hisband killed and then married her. The first child was born dead, David was not allowed to build the temple, he had numerous problems within his family, but God siad he was a man after God's own heart. Now that is God's grace. The prodical son came home to a loving and forgiving God. That is the God I know. The God of second chances, but the consequences are still there.
Sin is a reality, Read Romans 7. Paul said I die daily, referring to the power of sin. Sins does not hold power over us anymore. Jesus said when you are tempted pray and ask for a way of escape. We live in a sinful world, but live as men and women dead to sin if we are in Christ. Sin holds no more victory over us. Oh sin where is you sting, oh death where is you victory, sin has no sting and death no victory, for they have been swallowed up in victory, the victory we have in Christ. Martin Luther, a slave to the laws and legalism of 15th century catholism, found freedom when he disceovered that man is justified by faith alone. You can trust yourself or you can trust Christ, for me a humble sinner saved by grace, I will trust Christ, for my righteousness is as filty rags, but I am clothed in the glory and majesty of God forgiveness in the and through the person of JESUS! Praise the Lord.
