Salvation is it eternal regardless of the circumstances or not come on lets get everyone’s opinion

But what is your take on what would have happened if the prodigal son or anyone who had received salvation backslides by rejecting the Father, His Son, the Holy Ghost and totally turned away from the faith and DIED without having repented or had the opportunity to return to the fold. Would that person be heading for hell or heaven? This is a conversation that came up with a couple of my work colleague when we were in an after discussion on Luke 15:11-32 so I would be interested in having a discussion and receiving everyone's point of view.

Fine piece of theological exposition. Now, if free grace theology are 'delusional', what do you make of, ' sins that leads to death', For the Bible speaks of such kind of believers. Don't you think there are some even after being saved refused to grow and consequently become victims of negative volition to sound doctrine, after salvation themselves in living like the unsaved. Since, as you rightly said, saved is in the aorist tense in the original Greek language. Thanks once again for your interesting scholarly work. Rev. Amechi

I have written a pivotal book that is controversial and challenging.  Please go to Amazon and look for "SMooth With a Twist" by Joyce Murray Alim.  Read the first story and write a review.  Thank you

I guess the question would be, how would we know that they hadn't repented. They may have made the choice to repent without feeling the need to "disclose" their decision. Never the less, we can hold on to the scriptures that let us know that we are sealed with his promise once we believe, and belief brings about repentence.Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. Also John 10:27-30.

Repentance is not just feeling sorry. True repentace always bears fruit that is outwardly manifested.

The prodigal son is always of the family, and as a true member of the family, though gone off the track he still returned back because that's where he belongs by his father's volition not his. Salvation is by grace alone not by your own personal efforts.Titus 3:5

The son was dead as far as the father was concerned. You would say. "He never actually left. He was spiritually still at home" Come on i think we know the truth and the reason why the parable is placed in the scripture. Not to give us an excuse to test how far we can go astray and still be "saved" but to show us the true mercy and grace of God for those o fus who had gone astray. I dont remeber the son ever doing the same thing over and over again. If he had that would have been part of the parable as well. We have many other teaching that show what happens to those who have come to the truth and decide to turn away. Or reject the one who redeemed them. It is not good buddy.

Once saved, not always saved. It is possible to backslide. God is a forgiving God, but will turn you over to a reprobate mind when you becaome a "habitual sinner". You can not profess Christ and live any kind of way. You must walk in a way pleasing to God. Realizing that the word says and we experiancing::: "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God", we are not perfect in all our ways, therefore we have the priviledge of repentance. But remember that Gal 5 tells us that we should not take advantage of the freedom that we have been afforded.

The people of god have got to stop letting the enemy and self-will cut in on us in this race; stop taking God's grace for granted; stopcrucifying Jesus afresh. You can not repent and continut on in the same sin constantly repenting. What is that? He hot or be COLD. One or the other. LUKEWARM is not going to get youinto the Kingdom.

Luke 23:43 "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." Jesus got the authority over the soul of a dying sinner

I Peter 3:18 - 20 Jesus preached to the spirits in prison (souls of  disobedience)
Jesus was put to death in the body, but in spirit, he preached to the souls at the time of Noah
disobeyed to God and this thief, Jesus is taking his soul with him to paradise, where he is going to preach.
Let me stand on biblical theology, though a lot of theological views like Calvinism exists
We have a mediator to reveal God's love because God loves sinners. That is the story of prodigal son.
Salvation is not in man's control but it is  a Grace. Salvation is not a finished product, through perseverance one can hold fast the salvation.

I cant find one scripture that says "God loves sinners" I actually find the exact opposite.

My dear sister, this is another question that according to ones belief the answers will vary.  But, if one is found in sin when he is called by God then the Bible clearly states that the soul is lost.  However, there is this question that I would like to ask you.  Were you there in those last moments and heard the persons last words of hell or heaven?  you see most can not say as to what went on those last minutes of a persons life, so with that being said many preachers would like to think that everyone is going to heaven and will preach a salvation message.  But those messages are not for the dead but the living.  Somethings need not be discussed because people really get upset if you do not agree with them or their interpretation of the word.  But only the creator knows that is why the word tells us to live salvation with fear and trembling for we do not know what tomorrow will bring. One Baptist woman and god-fearing said that she believes once saved always saved.  Well, my question is liken to yours...you mean to tell me if I was once saved and then decide to go back into the world and live a life of hell and damnation when I die I will go to heaven? Well how many times did Jesus have to die on the cross for me? Will I continue to crucify him over and over for my salvation.  Romans state shall we continue in sin?  Heaven forbids. Read Romans 6-7.  I hope this helps you.  Love you and feel free to call upon my services,

Shalom to all;

Salvation ... what is IT and what does IT means and to whom was IT given to?

Salvation wasn't given to this World or all nations within.

Salvation was given, first and mostly to the House of Israel, the Hebrew Israelite and those whom the MOST HIGH chose, even before their time, the Israelite.  IT was set up by YAHSHUA, before the foundation of this World, by the way of a BOOK OF LIFE,Rev.13:8; 20:11-15.

Which means that all souls will be that of life forever, yes, those of the lake of fire, or those that will enter the World Without End, Isaiah 45:16-17.

And how did the Gentiles sojourned? Romans 11:11-27.

And what is the fulness of the Gentiles, as stated in verse 25?  Not to receive Salvation, but to execute the principle of Satan.

Shalom,

No one will go to hell because of his or her sins. Only one SIN send anyone to hell! If only you can point vividly where it is written in Scripture that one may loose his or her Salvation without asserting human view point that could be wonderful. The common problem with believers is that we are legalistic, and sees salvation subjectively. Finally, every Christian commits personal sins, who knows the sin he will commit before his death. In that case a single sin knocks off the person from heaven. Don't forget, there is no small or big sin. WE ARE SAVED BY HIS GRACE, FROM BEGINNING TO END. That some may distort and abuse this promise of God cannot alter this amazing gift, which is IRREVOCABLE. Remember, only God knows those who are His. These can never, never, loose their ETERNAL Salvation( not temporary salvation).
