Pastor Johnson, Thank you for your comment on Black Preaching Network. I have battled with addictions throughout my life and appreciate your ministry. When any of us are going through we need encouragement and hope of a brighter tomorrow if we can get through today! God is a buckler and he can strengthen any part of you that is weak. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. If we are never weak how can Jesus be strong in us? All addiction is is weakness of the flesh and enmity with our spirits. We must all realize we all have weaknesses whether they are obvious to the onlooker or not!
A shopaholic wastes as much money as a drug addict. A tv addict or alcoholic looses precious God and family time watching tv or drinking bringing devastation to the strongest unit God put together, the family! Addictions cannot be categorized by anything except that they destroy and destruction comes from the destroyer! I pray great success for your programs to minister to those dealing with addictions.
