Should Pastor's Allow non-Tither's to Function in Leadership?

Many pastor's have a mandate that if you don't pay tithes they will not allow you to function in leadership regardless of any so-called calling or so-called anointing on your life.

Flip side is, some of these same pastors have novice's in leadership based on the size of their bank account and their ability to give financially into the ministry

What does GOD's Word say about this?

I personally don't feel that tithing is necessary today, the church I belong to teaches tithing and I don't have a problem with it because no harm can come from it to my soul. However I am not bound by ten percent. In reference to your question, it's quite simple, if the Pastor states that tithing is part of a leadership role in is church, and you are under his covering the bible states "obey those that have rule over you"

Heb. 13:7 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

If their rule is something you can't endure, get out from under it.

Secondly, how do you know that some pastors are looking at ones bank accounts? the bible says in

Prov. 18:16 A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. this has been many times interpreted wrongly as a talent, however the true interpretation means that a man may not know how to get access to a great man, and that he may do it by a fee to his servants or a present to him; those in return will make room for him.

Now don't get me wrong, money should not be the most important factor, however the novice may simply be making a sacrifice to gain access to do a work he wants to do or to further a ministry he feels strongly about.
I personally feel that tithing is necessary, if you don't tithe what is gonna keep the church running. the bible teaches us that you are cursed with a curse if you don't tithe(malachi 3: whole chapter). many people take the instructions given on tithing and only read the 8th verse. in order to get a sure and in-depth interpertation you must read the entire instruction.however you should'nt tithe because you have to. you should tithe because you want to. the bible declares that god loves a CHEERFULL giver. not one that staggars up the aisle with a frown on their face. nor does he like the giver that know they have the money and keep it in their pocket so they can go to GOLDEN CORRAL after church. so this is something that you have to go to god for yourselves and get your own interpertation because the bible says that every man is to be persuaded by his own mind and that every man has to work out his own soul salvation. (and i am only 13)
A man's Gift does not have anything to do with his monetary status/ that is worldly...

The problem lies when you take bribes/ this is why many congregations are out of order/ no one is looking amongst themselves for men full of the Holy Ghost..........
I challenge you to study the scriptures, you are in err, of course as I said men and women led of The Holy Ghost would be the priority qualification for leadership .
And through Study you will not find anything about Monies being the Gift/s making room for him..

Where was David's money/Samuel/Moses/Saul/John the Baptist/on andon and on/
But through proper study you will find that these Gifts cannot be brought with Money, neither bartering or trading.............

Use the whole statement that I used sister.. THANX.............
I don't have any problem with what you state, however the scripture Proverbs 18:16 was what I was referencing to, and a study of THAT PARTICULAR SCRIPTURE is quite frankly talking about bribes in a sense. Is that something we want to see going on in the church, well of course not.

You stated a man's gift has nothing to do with his monetary status, in reference to his SPIRITUAL GIFT, this is true.

The scripture in Proverbs is not speaking of a spiritual gift, and has been interpreted wrongly to mean a talent.

It shows the power of gifts, (money) that is, presents made even by inferiors to those that are above them and have much more than they have. A good present will go far,

1. Towards a man’s liberty: A man’s gift, if he be in prison, may procure his enlargement; there are courtiers, who, if they use their interest even for oppressed innocency, expect to receive a gratuity for it.

2. Towards his preferment. It will bring him to sit among great men, in honour and power.

Yes, I agree with you that it is worldly, and will gain for some, which they are unworthy of and unfit for; however MONIES do make room for some.

Be Blessed
Show me in scripture where a Man used his Monies to procur position?????????

For if money makes room why the need for the HOLY GHOST/ or Salvation for that matter......
2Cor 9:7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver

2Cor 9:8

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

The power of the Holy Ghost is given to us for witness

Acts 1:8

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Brother, please understand, that money cannot do anything for us that God does not allow. As for Salvation, the reason we live this life is so not to be lost when Jesus comes.

The Holy Ghost will not give you a position, it positions you to witness to others of the goodness of God, so that they will accept HIM and HIS gift of the Holy Spirit.
So it has nothing to do with money correct?????????
bottom line, No! I agree with you brother, lol
If your church believes in paying tithes and you are not a tither then you should not be allowed to hold position nor function in the church.
Isn't that being disobedient?
Exactly, Praise God!
