I know this should spark a good discussion. I open this conversation for an opportunity to review and share your perspective and views.

I'm a Dem. (by choice) and I have been watching the race closely as things become interesting. Question? Why is it that Hillary takes the African American vote for granite? Time after Time she sends Bill in to rally the ol' guard to get the support, but will not show up herself, why is that? Why has some of our Civil Rights leaders, who claim to have fought for the DREEAAAM!!! to reach this point when we could have a good candidate, who is African American to run in the race and they refuse to support him because they feel we are still entitled and owed Bill for his years in office. Bill is not Hillary. Hillary ain't no Bill. History is repeating itself. We pray for the opportunity, which is then granted, and we refuse to accept and go back and pray again.

People, this is the closest time we have been to seeing the Dream come to life and instead of celebrating, we sit back and ask the question "is this the one or is there another?" I'm a supporter, but I'm not suggesting who you should vote but that you need to vote. We have complained tooooooo long about what is going on and we need to get involved or we will be left behind again. What am I saying? Don't give your vote away, but let it be earned. Learn what each person is saying and how you feel about it. You have a voice, you can say what you from your candidate, and you do count.

I think it is amazing what history is occurring in front of our eyes. People are forsaking color and looking for who is best to represent and not concerning themselves with the candidate of entitlement who you will not see in your church anytime soon. a recent CNN report qouted Hillary as saying, "I'm send Bill because he knows how to speak to them and he is carrying my message." I don't know how you take it but you decide. If you have not registered...do it now. If you are not informed....seek answers now. Do the research and make your decision. This is not an endorsement but a challenge to get involved.

PS.......This is News/Events. Todays News is yesterday's history...be careful who writes your history or you may become history.

Let's be honest........none of the candidates....in my opinion, share my complete view.

The New Testament teaches us that Christians are citizens of two realms, the earthly and spiritual, and we have rights and responsibilities in both spheres.

FRom Abortion to Stem Cell Research, the government needs to change it responsiblility on the moral decline of the people.

Our attempts to make a difference in society flow from the fact that as Christians we have responsibilities in the realm of the nation as well as in the realm of the Lord's Kingdom. As citizens of heaven (Phil. 3:20), we are called to be obedient to the Lord (Ex. 20:1-5). Our Lord has commanded us to be the "salt" of the earth and the "light" of the world (Matt. 5:13-16).

This requires Christians to be in active engagement with the world, preserving as salt and illuminating as light. Obedient discipleship requires nothing less than active, principled involvement with society, including informed participation in our nation's public policy process. As John Stott has said,

There is a great need for more Christian thinkers in contemporary society, who will throw themselves into the public debate, and for more Christian activists who will organize pressure groups to promote the work of persuasion. Their motivation will be thoroughly Christian - - a vision of the God who cares about justice, compassion, honesty, and freedom in society, and a vision of man, made in God's image though fallen, moral, responsible, with a conscience to be respected. It will be out of zeal for God and love for man that they will seek the renewal of society. (John R. W. Stott, Involvement: Being a Responsible Christian in a Non-Christian Society, p. 93.)

All such involvement should be undergirded by prayer--prayer for elected officials, prayer for personal wisdom and guidance, and prayer for our nation (1 Tim. 2:1-3). "2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. "

The Bible never says that we must be a majority. To employ an analogy from physics, we need only to reach "critical mass," the point at which an atomic chain reaction begins. How many does it take to reach the point at which the chain reaction begins? God alone knows the answer.

But we do know the process can and must begin with each of us. Follow His instruction to pray, to seek Him, and to repent (2 Chron. 7:14). And then, put feet to your prayers.

Thank you for sharing with me Brother and for your student in Medical school. I feel proud for you on that my Brother. That is truly something a parent can feel proud of. Please believe in no means was trying to let any anger come out about my loss or struggles because my loss and struggles in no ways are unique or above anyone elses. I can only imagine what you went through where you were in that time. I too us to say that brother Wayne was used as an escape goat for the Klan. I just felt it, come on. Anyway I do feel Obama is the best candidate but I so pray for his safety on our society. I just know by what we have shared that this country is still full of what they try to act is in the past and they will take him out if they feel the need. Pray for that brother please. God bless you and yours.
Hi Brother John:

So you knew Bunchy and Elmo man times have changed 54th and Vermont has changed-has it not? Your grace is intact as God provides for righteous anger and most of our anger is just that. Do not give up on Christ as we know what time it is and its not - listen for that trumpet.
BTW......they reason the old died away is because the Numbers 14:2 "All the Israelites murmured (grumbled/complained) against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, "If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this desert!". It was according to Exedus 7 acts of disobedience and 14 acts of complaining which caused them to beleive that they should stone Moses and Aaron. in verse 11 the story gets interesting:

11 The LORD said to Moses, "How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the miraculous signs I have performed among them? 12 I will strike them down with a plague and destroy them, but I will make you into a nation greater and stronger than they."

13 Moses said to the LORD, "Then the Egyptians will hear about it! By your power you brought these people up from among them. 14 And they will tell the inhabitants of this land about it. They have already heard that you, O LORD, are with these people and that you, O LORD, have been seen face to face, that your cloud stays over them, and that you go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. 15 If you put these people to death all at one time, the nations who have heard this report about you will say, 16 'The LORD was not able to bring these people into the land he promised them on oath; so he slaughtered them in the desert.'

It was the same leadership, who the people complained too (Moses/Aaron) were loving enough for the cause of their people, who pleaded their case before our God.

Voting in the election is not a reflection of the Past, it is a representation of the future. We were oppressed for over 400 years unable to vote. we have only had the right to vote since 1965, extended in 1970,1975 which extended the right to Hispanics, and 1982. If there had never been a Voting Rights Act or even a Movement (Civil Rights or Poor People March) you might still be on the Plantation. Those who ignore history are destined to re-live it.

Secondly my brother, they did not all pass away. If you read the remaining part of the Chapter: The Cause of the wrath of God against them where from their complaints, grumbling, murmuring, and disobedience. Before they died they where forgiven by God. Some remained disobedient and died in battle against the Amalekites and Canaanites.

Moses prays to God.
17 "Now may the Lord's strength be displayed, just as you have declared: 18 'The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.' 19 In accordance with your great love, forgive the sin of these people, just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now."

20 The LORD replied, "I have forgiven them, as you asked. 21 Nevertheless, as surely as I live and as surely as the glory of the LORD fills the whole earth, 22 not one of the men who saw my glory and the miraculous signs I performed in Egypt and in the desert but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times- 23 not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their forefathers. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it. 24 But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it. 25 Since the Amalekites and Canaanites are living in the valleys, turn back tomorrow and set out toward the desert along the route to the Red Sea. [a] "

26 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron: 27 "How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites. 28 So tell them, 'As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you the very things I heard you say: 29 In this desert your bodies will fall—every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me. 30 Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. 31 As for your children that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land you have rejected. 32 But you—your bodies will fall in this desert. 33 Your children will be shepherds here for forty years, suffering for your unfaithfulness, until the last of your bodies lies in the desert. 34 For forty years—one year for each of the forty days you explored the land—you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me against you.' 35 I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will surely do these things to this whole wicked community, which has banded together against me. They will meet their end in this desert; here they will die."

36 So the men Moses had sent to explore the land, who returned and made the whole community grumble against him by spreading a bad report about it- 37 these men responsible for spreading the bad report about the land were struck down and died of a plague before the LORD. 38 Of the men who went to explore the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived.

39 When Moses reported this to all the Israelites, they mourned bitterly. 40 Early the next morning they went up toward the high hill country. "We have sinned," they said. "We will go up to the place the LORD promised."

41 But Moses said, "Why are you disobeying the LORD's command? This will not succeed! 42 Do not go up, because the LORD is not with you. You will be defeated by your enemies, 43 for the Amalekites and Canaanites will face you there. Because you have turned away from the LORD, he will not be with you and you will fall by the sword."

44 Nevertheless, in their presumption they went up toward the high hill country, though neither Moses nor the ark of the LORD's covenant moved from the camp. 45 Then the Amalekites and Canaanites who lived in that hill country came down and attacked them and beat them down all the way to Hormah.

I'm only 41 and I'm far removed from the "you and others who want to stay in the past" crowd. the reason the OLD PASSED AWAY is because of complaing about the condition of the desert because they felt nothing had changed, will change, or was going to change, which lead to their disobedience and disbelief and ultimately their deaths.

I believe the report of Caleb and Joshua

Numbers 16:31 - It was their complaints & disobedience of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, which angered God to the point where he caused to the Earth to open and swallow their whole family up.

Numbers 16:41 Grumbling broke out again and God sent a plague, which only for the Act of Moses atoning for the sins of the people, stopped the plague.

My point: I was concern about your complaining and grumbling about nothing is going to change. It's the mentality of murmuring that leads man into the sense of hopelessness.
Currently where I live, the scenery has changed, but people are still the same, backbiting, murmuring, bickering, being far removed from this and that, but mostly from their fellow man.
What happened to the Children of Israel, came as you so quoted, from dis-obedience too God, and God alone. You look at it as if we are grumbling and complaining about the way God has chosen for us too go.
I am soon too turn 38 years of age, I have had the right too vote since 1988, that is 20 years. now too say not voting, and marching etc... is the way is just massaginistic. The vote stirs up the people, and when it is all said and done, you still lost out.
I know my history and have heard as others, that you learn from the past, or you are destined to repeat it.

Now what I have learned is this, too live as we have been commanded is what is in the best interest of all, voting is of man, and it keeps your mind and actions from that of God. But too go out and vote, and then need legislation in-order too keep that right extended should tell all of us something, (It ain't no-good).

How can we as the clergy go about saying vote for this and do not vote for that, when it is futile at best.
When we stand in front of the Creator of all, I seriously doubt if we will be judged on the fact that many died for our rught to vote, or on not being there when the pickets were going on.
My point being, the reason there is no hope is because many who claim too know, do just that claim a lie. We shall most assuredly enter into the promised land, and the vote shall have nothing too do with it. Nothing in this world shall change( ie..the system) but people can change.
too keep it real the politicians and so-called religious leaders, started the cry CRUCIFY him, and they did. Just as they did King and X. you see when you deal with adders eggs, you will come out bitten by those adders that hatch.
As the Apostle Paul states, and still I will show you a more excellent way.
I am not a victim rather a Victor, through the Love that God so gave the World. A savior was given, and I am so glad that he continues too give.
There is in this world today (MOTHER, AGAINST DAUGHTER, FATHERAGAINST SON) ETC...
WHAT DOES THE VOTE HAVE TOO DO WITH THAT..
To be honest Rev. NOTHING, it has not and will not change.
They gave this right in order too pacify, I don't suck on anything, neither do I support the grovelings and the Mr. Charlie gave us so much, people must change, the hearts and minds of men must change. voting doesn't do that. basketball etc.. doesn't do that. only Salvation, and walking the straight and narrow can.
You got it twisted, I am not hopeless, and I teach others that neither are they, rather we are hopeful, that we will be called up too meet him.
I love the 3 Hebrew boys, because as they were so am I not willing to work in that system, but I love this one. (JESUS AND ONLY JESUS IS THE ANSWER)
Caleb had a different Spirit, and followed him Wholeheartedly. notice He Followed Him. Not the way everyone else was going.
Don't forget the Hebrew boys were employed by the King. had they not been employed (God putting them in the right place/right time) they would have never been in the position to reach him. Their Faith caused them to stand up for what is right. Nebuchadnezzar, learned the greatness of God through their strength to believe in God and what only God could do. What was right was to change the mind of Nebuchadnezzar, God did it. Because they refuse to accept status quo or the idea that change is impossible. God used the Hebrew Boys to change the law declared by Nebuchadnezzar.

Caleb followed the instruction of Moses to survey the land in numbers 13:17 but in verse 30 Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it." (NIV) Caleb loook at the situation and did not see the size of the problem but the the size of the God, who can conquer all. He didn't look the descendants of Anak and see defeat, hopelessness, grumble nor complain. He proclaimed that we should go and take possession of the land.

When you say the system won't change, it ain't going to do any go. That sounds more accepting defeat than claiming victory.

I'm out here on every front using the Gifts and Talents the Lord has bestowed to me to reach the heart of man. There is no choice, it's my calling to fulfill.

Voting is of Man, this is true, but things have changed. Things are changing everyday, that is the sign of the end of time. My main purpose is first and foremost to Evangelize to the world and if it is by feeding them, God bless me with Fish. If it is by going to where they are in life, Lord let me meet them at the well. That's one battlefield but not the only battlefield. The battle is fought on every battleground including on the ballot.

I've got to admit, I like the image of the addler eggs. (I hadn't heard addler eggs for a while) but brother I don't hatch eggs, just plant seeds from God into Man. God will cause the germanation process to being in Man internally to make his change apparent externally. God will bring forth the harvest. You can't reach the world sitting on eggs waiting for them to hatch....
How much of the land do we own, Revolutions are fought for something. Our Lord changes the Hearts of men evryday, whether they be whole or destitute..
sorry rev. i disagree, The 3 Hebrew boys were slaves as were the rest of the children of Israel, but just as Joseph they held on too what they believed and did not compromise in no way in order to allow God to work in their Favor.........
didn't say that any hatch eggs, but it was just an analogy.

If our vote counted so much why nthe electoral college. you see the current Administration didn't win the 1 man 1 vote contest, yet it was behind closed doors. I do not need these men to affirm me, yet I do not count myself as one who is lost or hopeless.
Yes I am more than a conqueror,. I sit in meetings with the mayor and commissioners
yet there is so much too be done that the ways of man must be pushed too the side. And we must I repeat must continue too totally surrender too GOD!!!!!!!
"WHEN THEY SAY, PEACE AND SAFETY, A SUDDEN DESTRUCTION, POLITICAL VIOLENCE NO FOOD, AND YOUR THIRSTY" IE..Bob Marley.
For truly this is a Rat Race, in a Concrete Jungle................
i like you rev moore, im a white lady and i couldent agree more , it wasent right the way black folks were treated back then , i dident go to college , i only gotten a ged and never did any more schooling .except i went to nurse aid school . i was a aide in a nursing home .my little black people dident get treated any different than my little white people . i loved them all.but you are right God is coming soon and we are suppose to do his work to get souls saved help feed the hungry and love one another and be christ like. i dont know it hurts my heart to hear about the abuse that my ancesters did to the black people in those days . but i havent ever treated anyone like that .when i hear people talk like this it just hurts and i think it hurts god also . he loves everone he doesent love there sin but he still loves them . but while people are fighting about one race getting on top over another race , ther are people are getting murdered by drugs ,shootings and drive by shootings babies white black red all races . that breaks my heart and hurts me too . maybe i dont belong in this conversation , maybe its over my head . but all i know we are suppose to love one another . that is a commandment if im not mistakein your sister in chris May God bless you all and pour out a blessing on you that you cannot contain. in jesus name amen
AMEN TO THAT BROTHER JOHN. KEEP ON LOOKING UP, AND TRUST IN OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST, WHO I GIVE ALL PRAISE AND GLORY TO FOREVER.

MINISTER LAWRENCE VICTOR*
Let us Re-Member History~~~ Interesting you say that..Yes History has a way of repeating itself
Take for instance the Hebrew people Every where they go they prosper[ A Biblical promise} However History show s many a time they are rooted up from their homes and sent a packing ... even back in 1492 they were forced to leave from Spain ..
They over stayed there welcome in Egypt and wound up osing their Prosperity for Slavery..
Slavery ,,...Now that would conjure up memories,.. yet, In America' the Land of the Free and the Land of Dreams we are in close competition toTotalaterian Slavery and are blinded to see it coming..
Forced Innoculations in the schools,... a system put in place by John Dewey now that man had some issues including tutaledge under Lenin and Marx...That should give you a clue to why they teach more and more Paganism..
I took mine out and Home-schooled...they learn better.
MORE HISTORY,...Back in the early 1930s this country had forced Stiralization laws in 27 states and No one re-members...
A man named Hitler took his clue from the Eugenics/ illumanati plan of those forced laws in the 27 states and wrote about it in his famous writing Mein Kemph"...so He really was tutored by Rockafeller and friends ~~~So who do we trust???
Not many people realize that there are esteemed leaders who do not have our best interest in mind when they cast a vote in the Courts and Senate meetings of this great country...Or is it great ~~~who can we Trust????
Every thirty four seconds we spend a Million dollars in the Middle east, namely Iraq to stablize the area,
Yet just south of there Hundreds of Missles are sent against Israel each month... and we do nothing...
The Nation we are to Pray for, and If need be come to there aid.. and we do Nothing...Who do they trust???
It seems the Last time we did anything for IsraEl was in 1967 with Nixon at the helm..The Six day war,..Mr. Nixon sent them all they needed~~~I guess it was the best thing he did.
So Who do we vote for.???Who really has the credentials to Run this country..
Only one has the real record of Honor and that would seem to be Mr. mcCain.his record speaks for it-self and as a Prisoner of war duringVietnam, He might have a different perspective than others for sure ..
Then we have a baptist preacher from the south ,MR Huckabe...and then there is Hillary,.. But really it is Not about Hillary,.. it really is about getting Bill back in the saddle..the biggest dupe ever pulled on this country.
Not many realize this,.. but good ole Bill was slated to head up the U.N. world court before last election,.. But He had a Little heart problem. beside Bill was very instrumental along with over 500 members of his cabinet in helping to develop the New world Constitution...Oh yes it is ready...and 9-11 helped it along..how soon we forget.
that is why Bill C. and Daddy Bush, Kissinger and rockefeller and gates and warren Buffet and the list goes on are all buddies..they are all part of the plan...even Jimmy C. imagine that
Democrates and republicans together in the New World Order.. {JUST do not get the chip" thats what they want}

So Who do you vote for ???
..Oh Thats right we have that new kid with a little civil rights work behind him and one term in the senate,..
Mr Osama or Obama ..wow and he said in a church meeting we need to Embrace our Homo/Lesbian bros and sistas...Say What ? Not in MY Bible~~~~Now I am thinking the scriptures here,.. That a man is NOT to lay with a man as with a woman...so that means this kid does not walk in covenant with the word of G-D..That wont' get my Vote ~~~just that One issue..among others ..Like His selected cabinet are all Israel haters...Hmmmmmmmm.
It is also obvious Mr.O is running on the coattails of Mr Martin Luther King..Personally Mr King had High Biblical standards and I do not remember him ever endorsing things that were detestable to the Master Creator.

~~~So that leaves us pretty slim pickings this coming election~~
Great, now you have said something
Please don't put King on a pedistal. The Man was like any other man. He had problems as well. The legacy died, the marches stopped. The kids sold the papers, the King center was sold for 800, 000 dollars, the conspiracy of his death is still hush-hush. The reports of the affairs kept under wraps, and the dream turned into a nightmare. I've have heard and studied it all. Martin wasn't innocent, it was kept under wrap to protect the image. As for Obama embracing people with alternate lifestyles. The Bible instructs to Love without condition, which is one of the greatest commandment. It is the sinner he is embracing, not the sin.
Brother Yaakov,
Your view of McCain is mute, for it is a Constitutional requirement that a President be American born, which McCain is not. http://www.drudge.com/news/104764/mccains-birthplace-constitutional.... McCain is not sure whether he is Liberal or conservative, has not taken a position on any policy except Iraq and the enviroment.
McCain on 4/2007 voted yes on expanding research to more embryonic stem cell lines, 2/1998 voted yes on human cloning, 5/2007 stated that the Confederate flag flown on the Capital is good and a symbol of our heritage. 12/1999 qouted as saying he would be ok with a Gay President. Voted against affirmative action and has received a 7% rating from the NAACP based on his voting record for Civil Rights/Affirmative Action. Voted No on spending 448Billion of the tax cut on education & dept reduction
Billary, who can blame everyone but herself for every decision. Let's not forget the Whitewater Schandel.....I don't count 6 months working part-time at a law firm as working for civil rights, 8 years in the whitehouse without making 1 political decision/vote as experience. And hiring a research team 2007 to find the weakest republican senator on record, buy a home in that area and run for office 6 months later, submit 2 bills in eight years which neither passed becuase of backroom brokering which failed is not and does not equal 35 years of experience. If I had to loan my-self 5 million to support my campaign which is over-budget, then I can't run a 4 Thrillion dollar government budget.
Hillary was qoute on 1/7/2008 a moratorium on housing foreclosures only mitigates agony, but 1 week atfer super tuesday claims we need a 90 day moratorium. 8/2007 approved Civil Unions and marchedin the Gay Parade. Sent Chelsea to public schools in Ark but not DC, which Ark is ranked 47th DC is 39th. Countries such as China, Japan, Germany and Russia have refused to communicate with her. In 1960, was pro-PLO but in 1981 changed sides. Supported NAFTA in 1998, Support outsourcing jobs to India in 10/2005, Voted YES on every Free Trade Agreement
Hillary appointed 8 days after inauguration to health cmte. (Oct 2007)
A plan is necessary; but consensus is more necessary. (Sep 2007)
1993:Ambitious role plagued from start by secrecy complaints. (Jun 2007)
1990s plan failed after big pharma & insurance worked on it. (Apr 2007)
1990s healthcare reforms laid groundwork for today's reforms. (Mar 2007)
Still scarred from 1990s reform, but now doing it better. (Feb 2007)
1997: Helped found State Children's Health Insurance Program. (Dec 2006)
1990s reform called "secretive" but had 600 in working group. (Nov 2003)
Claimed Whitewater deal was a conflict of interest but not illegal 6/2007
Finally, I would like for you to name the first member of Obama cabinet? General election is in Nov. For you to mistake embracing sinner which JESUS did, with not believing in JESUS, the SON of GOD leaves me to question you. Remeber we all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of GOD. We should not passed judgement on the sinner, yet we be judged. I will never promote the choice of a person who decides to live that way, we should treat them as we treat others who sin. We lead them to Christ for their salvation. Mt 28:18.
As for the State of Israel, who even today are walking away from the negoation table as PM Olmert orders the attacks killing innocent children today and justifies their actions by claiming it was a casuality of war to get one militant.
My Brother, I suggest you check out facts, before you make statements.
