Should a pastor that spends most of his time preaching and teaching get paid for what God has him to do? I know what the scriptures says about this, but would you pastor for free?

THE WORD OF GOD IS WITHOUT MONEY! ONE SHOULD NOT PASTOR FOR A SALARY - IT TAKE EVERYTHNG AWAY FROM WHAT GOD PLANNED FOR US.
Says who? Says where?
Pastor,

What scripture supports that? Or is that your own bias?
Yea, its his bias thinking
Brother Pierce,

Why are you being so defensive. Not one time have I said your name or said YOU are doing anything. I must being hitting some nerves in your teaching to keep saying I have said something about you. It's evident that I do read and God has given me the gift to understand Him. I thank God all mighty that He has given me this gift. But, I'm not attacking you, but the theology of money.

God bless
Thats the error already. You consider it a "Money Theology", or a "Money Gospel". Its far from that, but simply doctrine on how Kingdom Finances work. There is more o the Kingdom that just talking in tongues, the Cross, healing, the Lake of Fire, ect. The Blood of JESUS and the Cross are most important, but they are the BEGINNING and FOUNDATION of your life in the Kingdom. After you are saved, THEN WHAT?!?!
Lonnie,

Of course I will defend myself. You are falsely accusing me or preaching a "money gospel". But, I am speaking with a calm tone of voice, with no offenses taken. You'd have to show from the Torah, Prophets, and Yeshua's writings where I am wrong about kingdom finances.

I have the Torah right to obtain wealth. For Yahweh gives one the power to obtain it. Not only that, obedience to Torah brings wealth. It may not be millionaire status, or billionaire status, but you WILL be taken care of in ALL areas of life, including finances. Even in the obtaining of wealth, one's heart must be held fast to Yahweh.

You have your own bias instead of scriptural support. You accused me, even when I gave you my motives for being a bible speaker at $5,000. You continued to accuse me of preaching a money gospel. Thats why I said before you accuse me, go BACK and READ my statements AND MOTIVE for having that type of price.
God is so amazing and hs a way of revealing His Word to us for us. Brother Edwards I stumbled across a definitive answer to your question tonight while we were involved in our daily telephone Bible Study. Paul, in his first letter to the Christians at Corinth, in chapter 9 made a very profond statement regarding this matter and therein we find much of the discussions on this question of your. To sum it all up, Paul plainly states that as an Apostle he has the God given right to be paid or to gain his susteanance from what he does; but, to prevent any one from stumbling He does not do so and exhorts the brethern to do likewise. To fortify his position on this matter, in his first letter to the Christians at Thessalonica, chapter 3.

Now, with that stated, and the facts are printed in the Word of God and we being called and appointed servants of God for the edification of His people that He might be glorified what else if there for us to do? And that is not a rhetorical question!

To God be the Glory!

In the trenches,
Bro. T
Brother Owens,

That's what I sent him in the previous blog, but he don't want to see it. They are so focused on getting broken off with the money, they won't see it. But, it's our fault that we won't agree with the money. Yes, I study the scriptures as they can tell, but the take a verse or two and run with it. Theuy refuse to read everything that God is saying, because the want to get paid. There is NOTHING wrong with a church supporting a Pastor. But not to the point were it turns to greed. That's what paul is saying and if it gets to bad, then he wouldn't want payment. But his reward is being able to just preach the gopsel. However, these brothers don't see that. Money has blinded the church as a whole and it's evident that it's getting worse.

God bless
If there is nothing wrong with a Pastor receiving pay, then WHY do you combat it, accusing anyone that claims this right (such as myself) as being a novice or a lover of money? If you believe in the balance that was mentioned by your brother earlier, then why didn't you recognize the balanced mentioned by me when I used the EXACT verses and used the EXACT wording he used?

There were "wolves" around, and to clear things up, he stopped collecting from them for himself, so not to be accused of being a false Apostle himself. The same can be mentioned of the silencing of the women at the time. His whole epistle was to bring everything to order because there apparently was chaos at Corinth.

Time to be REAL and CONSISTENT. Either you are for or against it.
Should a pastor receive pay? I don't know, does he have to eat? Should you receive pay when you work? Pastoring, when done "properly" is a 24 hour job (please, don't jump to conclusions, I am not a pastor-nor am I foolish enough to subscribe to positioning myself through titles-which to GOD are meaningless). I think the question that many are afraid to ask is, should I give my hard earned money to a pastor who does nothing but preach two or three hours a week? That question exposes many of the lies and foolishness associated with this topic. First of all, money only has the meaning we give it. If money has value to us, how is it wrong to give it in exchange for the value that having a pastor? Surely what the pastor or the church does with the money is of little consequence (as long as it is within the boundaries of good stewardship). All of our talents and experiences are entrusted to GOD, to be used by Him and for Him in any many He chooses, most often times this is through a pastor. People don't like parting with money because of the love of it. No, I am not telling anyone to throw money away, or give it to a faker. I am saying begrudge not the servant of his reward. Peace and may the Hand of GOD be upon you. Join the forum on this www.christianimpactnews.com. I really want to hear the rest of this.
There is such a thing called decency and in order. Many pastor's who have integrity are prone to making sacrifices when their church is suffering. The Bible tells us, "give and it will given to you", but if you never are seen giving, you never bless anyone, you never make sacrifices, then I am a firm believer that what you said above does not account to a Shepherd which is what a pastor should be. Jesus ministered to the masses and gave all He had to the poor and needy not havng much for himself, so again should a pastor be paid to preach the gospel? Parting with finances and seeing a church that has been paid for for many years go into deep debt has nothing to do with supporting the pastor or parting with finances that belong to God in the first place.
